from extensive research, vorpx is ass and not worth the price. You can replicate vorpx for free and for half the price of vorpx you can get full 360 degree vr (no virtual monitor). Using virtual desktop which is 20$ vs vorpx which is 40$, you can use a free software in tangent with, called opne track, set up both. Use the desktop mode in ur headset, set up the virtual desktop and with the feature specific to virtual desktop called headlock, where the window for your desktop anchors to your head. ( i have yet to find a software that does this for free, if you know of any please let me know and if you know of any then you have "full vr" for free) what this does is use the head tracking, and relay it to the game. Allowing you to look around , the headlock removes the monitor restriction seen here or in a webcam setup, allowing you to turn around and look behind you on a 1:1 ratio. As of yet this is the only way to do this, it costs 20$. for free vorpx do the same steps you just lose the headlock, meaning you get exactly what's in this video. Needless to say vorpx is probably easier to set up and better optimized, i personally dont see the use of it especially at 40$, on top of that virtual desktop is an app that is useful for many cases, not just this one. PLEASE IF YOU HAVE A FREE HEADLOCK/ANCHORING WINDOWS FEATURE ON ANY SOFTWARE YOU KNOW OF, LET ME KNOW. THIS MEANS WE GET FULL VR FOR FREE. (i've tried; airlink, alvr, steam vr, desktop+ - none of which have headlock)
Great tutorial! I did exactly what you explained and it works great! There's also a setting in the camera settings that allows you to bind 2 keys to move the camera forward or backward in the car (a few keypresses to go backward and the view is perfect!). In immersive mode the screen distance and screen scale options help with finding the right view and scale for immersion. I also tried the fullVR mode and it's very good too! Now the only thing that I still find annoying is the aliasing, I need to find a way to reduce it. I'm pretty sure using a high custom resolution will solve the problem, but I never tried that before. Besides that it's really nice to be able to play this game in VR! Thank you so much for the video, it helped a lot!
Awesome! Yeah you can't go back to pancake once you have vorpx working! I don't care for the fullVR mode, almost makes me feel sick while in that mode. Moving head left to right is sketchy to me but maybe I'm missing a setting somewhere. And yes, the in game camera adjustments are great. Glad you got things working!
I still cant get this to work. It ended up doing the opposite of what I was telling it to do. looking right would look left, up was down. Refresh rate was abysmal too. My PC is plenty powerful enough to handle it so i know that not the issue. Maybe it's outdated now and it doesn't work? I don't know. Just fed up with it and the fact I spent $40 to get vorpx specifically for this.

Yeah I’ve thought the same thing. Most games I don’t prefer using vorpx but every once in a while I find something that’s worth it. Welcome to the vorpx rollercoaster. I’m just happy it works well with beam…I think the trackir is what makes it so great with this game. Vorpx isn’t for everyone, but if you are patient and like to tinker you’ll find a selection of games you’ll like.
@@emblum88 I cannot get beam to feel good if I turn around it twists and makes me sick and it kinda runs poorly on a 3070ti I’d like to figure it out and also where do I find the track ir settings all I found was a setting called motion sim data or something
BeamNG Fe - Copy [auryza] - That's the one I use currently, and there is an option to use G3D as well with it. I see there is another profile from auryza, you could try that one out as well.

what is the difference with this and using virtual desk top manager to wrap the screen around your head? dose this only offer head tracking?
yeah head tracking is the biggest thing. makes you forget you're in immersive screen mode.
Opentracker can also get you head movement 😁

@@2025944 be sure you’re playing in immersive screen mode and not “full vr”.
@@2025944 the profile I’ve listed in the description makes use of the trackir. You shouldn’t have to do any configurations with that.
