The thumbnail makes me really wish we had human drivers in BeamNG lol. Like as much as we have the Stig and Crash Dummies, it'd just be great to have proper hands and steering animations in the cockpit view. Imagine BeamNG with cockpit animations from Driveclub.

Great video! I hope they add a mesh to the cars where you don't see plants or smoke going through the cockpit, this is my biggest issue with the game as I love playing in first person, but this issue breaks the immersion.
I still don't trust that Giant Lizardman, but it's nice that you got an upgraded headset from him. Seemed a lot mroe stable and watchable though there's still a bit of jiggle when in a race.
BeanNG for every just seems to be a sandbox with no direct. It would be good to use the technology to create something more polished and professional. may be a sim racing game with crazy physics
What settings are you using? I have my settings on Ultra with X16 MSAA but textures and things still look so muddy, resolution on my headset set 3712 x 1888 and ive tried using graphics mods to increase LOD but things still look horrible.
Does the quest 2 make it shakey? Im prob gonna get the quest 2 but one of the main games will be beamng so if it does make it shakey I will need a quest 3

Might be stupid for doing so but got a 7800xt to atleast be able to play it smoothly with my dated hardware and yea the crashes are just insane looking at 200 plus kph

I’ve been looking forward for beamng vr ever since I discovered vr, I tried it when it came out on my quest 2 but it kept crashing + my rx590 couldn’t handle it medium graphics on a monitor let alone vr, willing to give it another shot but I think the graphics will be so low it’ll be painful to watch. I had a 4090 for about a month before I had to return it because the connector melted and I really want to go back to that, the difference was humongous, didn’t get to try beamng as I was busy with flight simulator and vr wasn’t out yet. How is the quest 3? Would you say it’s worth the upgrade? Don’t do much if any standalone vr, everything I do pc vr and airlink pc vr, one of the controllers for my quest 2 had a bad battery and it corroded, so it’s busted, tried cleaning it but it’s gone for good, tried to order the controller from the meta website but they don’t ship to my country or to freight forwarders either so might end up buying it since that’s easier
As a standalone there is nothing better right now. And if you have a 4xxx series you can use a better codec with VD that looks almost native PCVR. But your 4090 will suet!

I spent a week fighting MSI to get them to understand that I’ve done nothing wrong and the gpu was basically bricked (especially if I continue using it, considering it melted the adapster) and they still insisted that because I bought it from Amazon and it has a US serial number therefore they won’t do anything unless it’s already in the US, when I spoke with Amazon support since it broke on the 31st day (they have a 30 day return period) multiple agents even ones on the phone had told me that I should contact the manufacturer as they’re the ones who offer the warrant, and the most Amazon could do is take it back but with a “restock fee” (30%) in other words 320$, and cabemod offered to buy it outright for the full price I paid (after showing the invoice as I used their 90 degree adapter, since it took so long to get to this point, by the time I got here I was traveling that week and I would’ve been gone for a month, cable mod were slow in responding at the very end so I ended up sending it back to Amazon, couple weeks go by and they refunded me the full amount which I’m happy about but I can’t lie and say that didn’t cause so much unnecessary stress, glad they could make an edge case and let it slip tho (at least I assume that’s what they did). Sending it back to msi + paying shipping both ways would’ve costed more to ship it to Amazon with the restock fee, it’s not light either. And they don’t accept freight forwarders). All this and I would’ve still had to wait forever for them to send back a replacement that god knows if it’s the same or if it a refurbished one with more problems than my original one, then I’d have to go through all that hassle to get it fixed, or if they tell me I have to pay to fix it since it’s “user caused” even when I’ve done nothing wrong and have video of my plugging everything in just in case this happened, I was really not hoping for things to end this way but at least it happened while I was still home. As for the quest controller, I still don’t have a solution, the corroded controller is still broken with no fixes, I can’t pay to have a new one shipped unless I ship it to someone in the US and have them ship it back to me, but that would cost me the 74.99$ + the shipping from the person in the US to here, since they don’t accept freight forwarders. Or if I take them up on the “extended warranty” option I’d pay half but then I’d pay more shipping the broken controller back to them and then having them ship me another refurbished controller, besides all the reviews say that you’re basically playing Russian rollete, where the best case is you get something with minor scuffs and worst is it’s bricked and looks like it’s been abused. All this to just use my right hand, when I could do the same with my left hand (since I won’t be doing standalone VR just car games, tho I really wanted to play other games but they all require both controllers so can’t do much). Should have put a disclaimer in there saying don't watch if you get motion-sick easily, that's not a problem for me in particular but you might want to consider doing that for this new style of videos just to err on the side of caution in case there are viewers here who do get motion sick.

For some reason, any time I have my Index plugged into my PC, BeamNG will not launch. Suddenly cant detect my GPU. All my other games work fine, Index works fine..
Can you run VR on beam with a $6k PC? It has a 4080, 64GB of RAM and 64TB of storage. Usually get like 300fps at absolutely maxed settings on beamng but I've never used vr.
It's expensive in every country but yeah especially where tech comes at a high premium. Even in the US I've spent honestly an unreasonable amount on my setup and can say that my experience is just above bare minimum. The system requirements to run beam alone are enough to put a hole in your wallet but the headset and a better gpu make you seem like an idiot for spending so much.
This is a ringing endorsement of never getting a VR headset. Compromise on performance AND graphics quality to wear a heavy mask and make yourself sick. No thank you!

they should add the dummy hands on VR so that you can control the hands with the VR contolers

I can't do the no driver and hands in vr, it ruins the immersion for me. I still haven't tried beamng since buying it 6 months ago..
