“Make yourself at home, there’s film in the fridge”
😂 😂 😂
haha yea why is that? preserves the film quality?
@@cs512tr yes film has an expiration date and keeping it in the fridge keeps it fresh until that said date and keeping it in the fridge basically keeps it preserved
Seeing Willem upload a new vid always makes my day
Thank you 😭❤️
What a sunset. Not bored of this style of video at all.
the film god has blessed us once again
photos look amazing as usual
As a local to the Wildwoods, this made this video even better. Incredible photos man!
i remember going as a kid and this made me want to go back so bad
*casually shoots over $500 worth of film*
imagine the developing cost though, $500 worth of film, $1000 of developing and scanning?
I was trying to calculate his cost after he mentioned how many rolls he shot 😂
So crazy seeing this Wildwood project...I would go there every summer as a kid. Some of my best childhood memories!
Totally man! That’s awesome :))
Amazing work. Im a photography student from Denmark. The first thing I do when I wake in the morning is to watch one of your videos. So inspiring - keep up the good work.
Always waiting for this time on my day off. I'm in love with film because of you, thank you.
Watching Willem's videos on Sunday is the best way to get inspired for the whole week.
Dude, the colors in your photos are incredible! And no, these video are not getting boring, please keep them coming lol
Your photos just bring me peace.
Very cool photos, Willem. I love the simplicity of your photos. Please keep it up. Definitely happy to see more videos and pics from New Jersey 👍
That Caribbean motel was amazing! I LOVE the extreme vintage look in there
Wildwood, 3511 miles away. What beautiful images Willem.
Lately, you are the biggest influence in my will to keep shooting. Thank you for your work and the content you upload for us.
Having a somewhat long-term project is a wonderful way to stay motivated and focused (sorry, had to say it). You can stray away and then come back and dive in all fired up and it doesn't have to be all-consuming. You seem to have a great start with these and other images prior to this. Given a longer time frame to complete this, I'd say you're safe sharing most of the images that will eventually be published. Of course most doesn't mean all, so you can tuck a few favorites away for a printed surprise. Speaking of printed, I have been remiss in saying how much I enjoyed your 'Playground' zine. It took me a couple months to finally track it down due to moving, but I got it and the images are quite inspiring. Another great video today, thanks for your efforts.
his face when he’s proud of a photo makes me happy
Getting to watch the process of you making this is awesome. Keep whatever you feel is worthy to yourself if you have plans for it to be in the book too. I'm looking forward to seeing those ones later.
The colours in these images are incredible
LOVE YOUR SUNSET SHOT ! LIGHT AND COLOR ARE SO NICE, FEELING LIKE THEY ARE BLENDING TOGETHER !
Man, the tonality in this series gives me Meyerowitz Provincetown vibes in the best possible way. You're making great work.
Blossoms with the house construction in the background is incredible!
I don't know what it is that I like about your work, but it's so settling, calm and interesting. Awesome stuff mate!
not boring at all. a very inspiring process! i've had a rough year, but your videos have really re-inspired me to get back into doing what i love. so i've been on many photography trips the last couple of weeks. :) thanks for sharing.
I love this! I grew up in New Jersey -- this is like seeing it new all over again.
I think you should share less on this project, I mean on IG, but I've enjoyed to watch the process, and listening to you explaining "why" you take these pictures.
why should he share less?
so it’s more of a surprise when the photo book comes out and so that they’re unique to the photo book
Thank you for sharing your process and thoughts on this project. I‘m exited to see the upcoming videos on this 🙌🏼
Thank you for the support!! ❤️
These photos are absolutely insane !!! WOW 😱
This reminds me of walking around the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Great video and photos!
not boring! i love seeing the behind the scenes footage
Concerning what to keep to yourself. You are the artist and feel free to keep your best shots to yourself. We all love your work which is why we watch videos, but being surprised by work you told us about would be a wonderful surprise!! As a UA-camr you do not have to share all of your work, show a couple videos and talk about the process!
After your book you could talk about your favorite shots in the book?
That first shot of the house being built is incredible
Jersey is such an underrated state!! It's good to recall the east coast again!
I love your photos so much willem, thanks for being an inspiration 🙏🏾
That sunset was unreal mate 🔥 !! Great Video Will📸😆
watching your videos always make me go out and shoot more photos
Duuuuude that looks like straight outta movie!! keep on killing it bro! see you soon!
Very nice video! Loved the first photo of the car shown. I'm trying to motivate myself to just shoot and document things around me! Good luck and keep up the awesome work!
excellent they just keep getting better
Super incredible! Love the idea of the book and love how you always shout out everyone who helps you out! I get to see and discover more film photographers! All the best on your project
I was just in Wildwood from the 22nd to the 25th shooting a roll of Portra 800 with my OM-2N! It's such a great place for photos and I love the amount of neon going on there.
Those colors are awesome!!!
‘The Race of Gentleman’ where they race hot rods on the beach in first weekend of October in Wildwood! Lots of pre parties at night and lots of photographers shooting on film! I think you’d make some great content!
Absolutely love your work, it's fun, calming, entertaining, inspiring, and of course, groovy.
I've never been to New Jersey, but that Wildwood has some really cool retro buildings. It's a great project, and really does a great job capturing something I'm sure a lot of people--like me--didn't know existed. Because I'll admit, at first I thought "why's he taking photos of some city in NJ?" But now I know, and I'm glad I stuck around to find out.
Amazing as usual Willem. The shot at 5:43 is awesome! The explanation behind this project is unique, looking forward to more :)
Wow, the photo of the Wawa market with the gas pumps in it! Amazing shot and beautiful colors! I grew up in New Jersey, too. I'll be following this series right up until I can buy the book. :)
Please do share everything you can on the process, it is amazing to follow!
the new jersey videos aren’t getting boring, the just keep getting better
I can very much relate to your subjects and I think I would like that countryside a lot with these beach scenes. Reminds me to the countryside I live (Baltic Sea coast in Germany)
Beautiful shots again ✨ You’ve really mastered golden hour and night time photography
You did it again man!!! Loving the photos!!!
in love with these photos, amazing work
Hey, what an amazing video. Keep up the amazing work! I look forward to your next video.
Beautiful work. I look forward to seeing the results of your NJ project.
Please do a video on metering without a light meter, your photos before the sekonic were still so beautiful and I’m kinda iffy about the whole metering thing. Great video as always!
Highly recommend accepting the use of a meter. It's just a great investment and a pretty necessary tool. I promise your ratio of throwaway shots to keepers will soar in favor of the keeper pile. You can always guess, but imagine if you had the perfect shot compositionally but you guessed the exposure wrong and it ruined the shot. I've personally had that happen enough times that I now make sure to always have a meter with me.
the shot with the leopard chairs is crazyyyy
love the colors
Would be cool to see you photograph a suburban scooter being built.
Great work as usual tho bud!
I will keep that in mind, thank you sir
loving these NJ videos
I'm so happy I found out about your channel, I look forward to every video especially the New Jersey ones! Also when would you come out with a photo book I'd definitely purchase one!
I'm definitely interested in watching the process of your project coming together, from shooting through to printing a book. I'm currently working on two simultaneous personal projects which I plan to have culminate in books, and it'll be cool to witness someone else going through the same process at the same time, especially because one of my projects also involves me going back to the town where I grew up and photographing places I remember having an impact on me. It's great that we have the opportunity to watch other artists as the work in real time. Thanks for sharing your journey!
worth it!! thank you willemmmmm!!
Your colors are so calming #stressfree
Fridge storage is definitely necessary if you are in hot climates. If you're shooting fresh film, it won't expire or be damaged in normal conditions, but refrigeration is definitely safer. If you love grain, leave it in a car. ha ha. But I'm sure this has been said 20 times by now ... Good stuff! Looking forward to seeing how this comes together.
Just great!!! So inspiring.
Hi Willem, how are you.
Just new to your channel, love it so far, seen some of your old video's, great stuff.
Love the street shooting especially at night and film of course.
Thanks for sharing your goodies and keep up the good work
Greetings from Amsterdam, Holland !!
I am struggling with the same issue of debating in my head if I should show stuff I want to make a publication or an exhibition out of and I haven't really found an answer yet :) great episode as always, the sunset light was truly surreal!
4:52 that wawa is awesome! looks so unique compared to other ones. It's also cool that you're featuring New Jersey. It's not a popular spot to begin with. Lived here half of my life.
Amazing work Willem! 👏
i live in vegas and i’ve been dying to go down to the strip and fremont street to shoot at night to see all the neon signs, but i don’t know what film is best for night photography. i cant wait for your video about tips for night photography!!
I'm working on a book right now as well and it really is a struggle what to share and what to keep for the publication. Good luck with everything!
I'd love to see how you edit the sunset photos to be a bit flat as you show them here. I've seen it elsewhere as well but never could figure it out.
Dude I love your Chanel and the photography! Hope you sell a book with those pics ... would be awesome!! 🖤 Thanks for your work!
Favorite film photography channel
Fantastic stuff Mr v the colours in the photos are so nice keep up the great work☺
Thank you so much!!
Dude no vídeo you ever male will ever be boring, don’t forget that, you’re a huge part of why we watch your videos
Love the Wawa photo
Looking forward to follow your project!
Love this video dude! Shot at 6:59 was fire, it felt like the houses featured were atcually two people looking either way
yes the best day when willem uploads !!
Amazing video and photos!
Best day of the week
i love you eye man, great compositions
my god this is amazing, thank you for this!
I'm so glad I found this channel.
Tyler Haughley’s Photo book “Everything is Regional” has documented Wildwood very well, check out his work!
I love seeing the process of this NJ project as a person from NJ as well you really captured the feeling of Wildwood. have you thought of going to an old mall?
Hi Willem. You are a true artist. Feel free to share only what you want to share. Congratulations on a great a successful assignment.
Love this one and your point of view. I really do understand your struggle of what to share and what to keep to yourself in your creative process. I think you are doing a great job so far. I would love to see a video about how you collorcorrect your scans sometime in the future. But maybe that would give away to much as well. Keep listening to what your guts tell you. As a german would say 😅
great video buddy, makes me want to book a holiday
man I can't wait for that book!
That photo at 6:52 is just made me say "hoooly..." out loud haha, the colors on that window in contrast with the sky and the overall geometry in this shot is f****** sexy
That motel is really cool
your work is amazing and super inspiring xx from france
I love and appreciate each of your videos. Do you mind sharing which tripod you use? That's been something I go back-and-forth and about, and I want to choose a good one
Weekends, weekdays, any day is made better with your uploads. And I understand you on the topic of how much you show vs. keep for your series. I'm sure you'll find a good balance man ✌
