@@notproductiveproductions3504 Nothing is guaranteed. Warriors go through a ton of things both mentally and physically. There is no doing it right, only being lucky.
That's deep. One of my favorite books "The Book of Five Rings" encourages one learns about other paths of life in order to develop balance. The path of a warrior must be two fold. He must not only be a warrior, but develop his intellect too. He must also study the way of the artist or even the merchant. Michael Jai White is an example of that balance.
Funny you said that because I said the same thing. The other guy is cool but is not as fluid in his fighting movements. Michael would have been a great fit.
Keep in mind that many fighters fight because that's what they're accustomed to. They grew up in a rough environment that forced them to fight or die. So this mentality of roughhousing doesn't always end inside a ring, but rather carries on to all aspects of their lives. Fight or flight becomes the end-all, be-all when a given circumstance arises that forces their backs against the wall. That can extend to every relationship that involves conflict be it man-to-man or man-to-woman. It can end very badly when unstable mindsets are unable to distinguish the context between friend or foe.

UFC fighters were making more money a couple of years ago when they could have sponsors on banners and their shorts but that changes when the organization was bought by WMG and Reebok became the main sponsor.
Paul Blackman he’s saying that while the contracts paid out little, the ability for fighters to earn their own sponsorships/endorsements gave them more room to earn well above what UFC paid them. Switching to Reebok as a company sponsor pretty much locked in all fighters to only rep Reebok, and in due so the company makes more but the fighters themselves make much less
I'm a big time combat sports fan, and not a single lie was told here. There are a lot of fighters who don't just fight because they have a passion for it, but also because they don't think there's anything else they can be successful doing. MJW is obviously not one of those people, so fighting for a living is a lot less appealing to him. He definitely has a deep interest in it, so the best way for him to experience it was to be adjacent to the lifestyle, which he had the means to do with high level fighters. That way he gets a front row seat without any of the drawbacks. Prize fighting is lot of risk, a lot of suffering, and not enough reward for all but a handful of fighters. You really have to love it (or be crazy) to offset all the negatives involved with being a fighter. Takes a different mindset most people don't have. And I love how Tito always has his laundry list of injuries ready to throw out. He needs that so he can cue up the excuses after he loses fights haha.

@@mpforeverunlimited not really a fair point. Sure they haven't proven there abilities to the world but that doesn't mean that don't have them. UFC fighters aren't born in the UFC. mpforeverunlimited NBA players themselves have stories of guys better than them that never made the league. A person hones their own skills. The league just provides the platform to showcase it against top talent.
My thing is that if you want to get into being a professional martial artist for a living then always focus on your mental health for the majority of the time because people and especially men in this sport tend to think of it as weak to express emotions, which is not even the case because every human being needs an outlet to let out to.

They start off as companions, until a tragic event causes a feud. They go their separate ways, fighting for control over the cities drug empire. As bosses of their own gangs, they both send hitmen, to end each other lives. They both brutally slaughter every man that comes with ruthless close quarters combat until eventually, they must do the job themselves. They meet, and have a fight that puts the choreography from the raid to shame. In the end, in some type of fashion, they both kill each other, and in their dying breaths console one another.... Fade to darkness. THE END...... Or is it?..

Billy Arnold He grew up in Bridgeport Connecticut where I grew up. I met him once. He has a black belt in 7 different kinds of martial arts. I’ve seen other comments such as yours. Him being an actor has nothing to do with his skill as a martial artist. Not all martial artists choose compete in ufc. Some prefer not to for personal reasons.
The thing is, up until the last few years, nobody got into the mma game to make money. You did it for the competition or you did it to get some notoriety for your gym. I think for a lot of guys the drive to prove themselves is what gets them in the ring. If you go to a local gym you will find a ton of guys who will at some point step into the cage to fight for a local event. 99% of them know they aren't going to be pros and will never make any money from it but they do it anyway because they have a need to see what they are made of. Then there are the 1% that continue on with it. And even for most of those guys it isn't a predetermined goal, but rather something they stumble into. They win an amatuer fight, and do pretty good so the promoter asks them to do another one and so on. Then after 5 wins they get offered to do a $500 regional fight and the next thing you know they have 10 professional wins and are looking around realizing this could be something serious. I would bet that most of the highest level guys in the UFC didnt begin with the idea of making millions.
MJW is a hell of a martial artist, but to be an MMA fighter it's much more different. It's like a classically trained dancer vs a freestyle dancer. MJW is great to fight another martial artist, for film or to defend himself

@@burgerbandit3646 then they didn’t do it right
@@notproductiveproductions3504 Nothing is guaranteed.
I think he'd have made a way better Luke Cage on Netflix. I found the other guys acting a lil stale at times.
Nah no disrespect to Mike tho
Funny you said that because I said the same thing. The other guy is cool but is not as fluid in his fighting movements. Michael would have been a great fit.
Marvel doesn't seem to want to work with MJW. DC gave him Bronze Tiger.
meh, Luke Cage was terrible...Daredevil and Punisher were really the two only good ones to watch
Thing is Luke cage is a brawler/street fighter he not supposed to be fluid & a martial artist. It would’ve just wasted Mr Jai White talent.
People who compete in the olympics don’t make money either. They literally spend their whole life and money on training for one millionth of a chance of winning a medal.
They later go on to make all their money through sponsorships and ads. Though the difference between second and first is, everything.

Michael Jai White is the only guy Vlad doesn't talk to like a Toddler. He knows who to pull that sh!t with and who not to. 💪
this guy looking in top form all the time, ripped af
He still trains and workout and spairs
Connor did.
MJW is a hell of a martial artist, but to be an MMA fighter it's much more different. It's like a classically trained dancer vs a freestyle dancer. MJW is great to fight another martial artist, for film or to defend himself
He's a great interview
The people commenting that "he'll get his ass beat haha" obviously havent seen this man fight against professional or seen pros talk about him.
Nobody has because it didn't happen
To the haters... You know he has actually stated he commends fighters cause he couldn't do it on a ufc level but he does have a resume cosigned by other fighters
GenesisMuzik oh so fighters co sign resumes now?🤡
Ur a fuckin DUMMY RABBIT, and probably voted trump😂
He’s a fraud, all he knows how to do is shoot steroids, and fake fight in movies. big, black, and can’t fight... what are the odds!
Dude's a living modern day Ryu, from Street Fighter
Nah he's not, he's a pathetic wannabe who's never been in a real fight in his life
@@BigBoss7777777 oh really? Have u fought him?
@@KillaCamrizzleBell nah, no one has, that's the point. He's all talk.
@@BigBoss7777777 there's videos of him fighting in tournaments
@@quincyrobinson8139 lmao that's called glorified sparring. He's never been in a real professional fight.
lots of dedication and application of focus,
This mans ring, is everything outside it.
Such a humble man and pleasent gentleman.
He would never pass the USADA's testing 🤷♂️
LMAO. How can you be so sure he's doping?
yep he isn't passing a drug test lol.
black men have good genetics but michael's body is so odd.
@Jessica Anderson Rofl he is on steroids... Dumb idiot.
stefan minik proof?
No one is hating on Michael, but its prob annoying a guy spends his whole life talking about fighting and was never in a fight. Him and Seagal would be good for bar stories
@fixit 🤣🤣🤣 not seagal trash ass aikido pls don’t compare them.
fixit he that have footage of him competing lol look it up and he even light spared with a ufc fight and worked his ass
Don't camper Aikido Seagal to a guy with 8 black belts.
michael is a legit karate practitioner though.
@@edwardn.8938 Not the same as a real fight or Mma fight you can go back to the early Ufc fights most Guys like that aren’t very good
This is why Andrew Yang has said UFC fighters should be able to unionize.
Maybe they've tried and maybe that didn't come to their mind, or they're not as brave or strong in the area of business as they are in the ring.
el terrible Andrew Yang is the least communist out of the Democratic party. He’s a businessman for christs sake
el terrible Globalism is not communism
el terrible Define both of those for me and see if they’re even close.
el terrible Well I guess when you make up definitions for them you’ll get pretty similar ones
4:16 Good job for not letting the interviewer lead you Michael! This is the new paradigm in "reporting" and "interviewing" where the questioner tries to lead in the direction they want to go. I even see this on "news" channels now.
Instigating basically lol
