He is right about targets not being stationary, but if the other person is physically dominant over you. For example a woman defending herself against a man, Going for those vulnerable areas is still probably your best chance.
Statistically speaking? It is not. Even if you include a woman with a weapon, there's a higher chance of it being used against her. Just run, or hide in the bathroom or anywhere else, till its all over. If you're being attacked, just ragdoll and chances (which is actually more likely) that someone will come to your aid. You are not Ronda Rousey (who got beat up by her husband) or Leyla Ali. Best advice for women; don't hangout with those types of men, or leave the even early.

Why? Are they going to get a gate blow your brains out? I mean that's what most panzies do these days anyway. But in a real no holds barred situation. You want to be the beast. And get out of dodge
He ain’t lying about that switch. A dude approached me while his mans(no diddy) was close by. I said “huh?” 2 seconds later…. Right hook connects we both fall down… buddy got the Mcknuckles combo. His “guy” only helped him by getting me off him and outside. My knee was swollen but nothing broken

Here's my breakdown on real fights. 1. Learn to defend against punches by using the Crazy Monkey defense. Also learn to use the clinch to avoid punches. That's a BJJ tactic. 2. Many real fights will be in close range. So learn some basic judo takedowns. Also learn some grappling reversal techniques. Like how to escape headlocks, both standing and on the ground. Learn to escape from the mount or when someone is on the ground on top of you. 3. I would avoid using high kicks. High kicks can get caught and cause you to loose your balance. So stay with thigh level kicks if you kick. If you cover those things you will likely do ok in a one on one with no weapons.
I've been a fighter all my life and all my fights were in the street, bars, alleys, etc. He's so right about real shit. If it's going to kick off? You got to be prepared to strike with extreme prejudice. Also I've said forever, that your intelligence is your best weapon. It's like a game of chess, you should alway be thinking two or three moves ahead, looking at the fight from your opponents viewpoint.
Don’t fight. That’s the best way to “win” There’s nothing glamorous about violence. Even Bruce Lee said it. Lee said if it ever gets to the point when you’re actually fighting, then you’ve already lost. RIP, Bruce Lee.
@@terrencetysor9956 True. However, some people can’t make that distinction. That’s why there are people in our society that sees fighting and violence as a way to resolve conflicts.
I lost my eye two fights ago in the parish jail. I have to think about that every time i get into conflict for the rest of my life. I only have one eye left and you will not get it easily. In some ways, it has made me very proactive in assessing whether someone wants trouble. I typically try and get away from the problem but before i even look for an escape, i think of how to defend myself first if it goes down.
@@Tourist-Q It was a fist fight in which I believe the guy used something like a lock and that's it. Quick little scrap. Im only 6ft 230lbs. Im scared of my own reaction, not other men. The stronger or bigger the other guy, the more im im afraid. Im not afraid of fighting him, but im afraid of what I'd have to do or what level i need to escalate just shy of killing to get the other person to stop so i avoid as many fights as i can.
I grew up in the streets of Newark and was a great streetfighter, as was everyone where I was. I later trained in various Martial Arts and went to Ranger School in the 80s. A lot of stuff you learn in martial arts won't work on the street. Listen to Michael on this. He's spot on.
An even better first defense than walking away though is just being 'That Dude'. MJW kind of says the same thing with 'turning the switch', but that's more showing the person you CAN be 'That Dude', I'm saying it's best to have your reputation precede you, so they already know before anything happens. This is an example of what SunTzu talked about when he told us it's better to win 1,000 battles before ever fighting; what Shakespeare talked about when he told us to kill the viper while it's still in the egg. Real talk.
Not necessarily. Being "the dude" with a reputation can actually attract violence. There's always someone else that thinks they're "that dude" as well and can't wait. to test you just to get a rep (Guru- Gangstarr). Having a rep means you've been involved in enough altercations that people know you which probably means you have enemies as well, which can just bring more violence. Being "that dude" can and should be being cal enough under stress that you don't need to prove it. You can send the message that you're not to be f****d with by looking a person in the eye and remaining calm. You do't want it, but you're not scared either.
Thats not very realistic though for the majority of people. Most people aren't or can't be "that dude." Especially not on a level where a random person would know you like that. You yourself could be "that dude," but I for example, don't know anything about you, never heard of you, nor have I ever seen you before. So if we got into a random altercation, how would I know you "that dude" beforehand.
@@eldeorojefe100 you assume that just because you take off first that you can’t get hurt, I think this tough guy act yall do on internet is a facade. Walk away but don't turn your back on the person. If its gotto go down , then he's right, flip that switch and turn into the aggressor. Get that cardio up, head down hands up and throw those punches in bunches.
At the beginning of the fight, especially if you're pretending to want to talk it out, the opponent is in fact stationary. Once the fight starts, IF you didn't get off first, then you have to deal with a moving target. It's the equivalent of getting "stole" on. That target is also basically stationary.
The throat and groin as he explained was even when you’re moving around he never said it as Michael described but we understand what he meant. Simply walk away because there’s always that one person that has nothing to lose and will kill but if you know how to defend yourself and it’s one on one you can submit the person and wait for the cops to take care of him. That’s in an ideal situation but hope no one ever gets to that point to have a street fight, stay safe fellas and god bless 🙏🏼
MJW is saying that your opponent has to be stationary if you're an amateur and you want a good chance to hit those targets, because you can aim all you want and miss. Then when you miss against a skilled or experienced fighter, that can be dangerous. He gave you options that reduce the chance of you missing.
You have to keep in mind ( coming from a former street dude) 95% don't know how to fight. Military martial arts training is much more intense than the Dojo training. I've done both.
I agree with the mental part. Being aware & recognizing what it is. No point in trying to negotiate with a person who has already made a decision to harm you.
Interesting topic. I was almost in a street fight...Was working security at a concert in Pontiac, Michigan and kept getting spoken to like I was a piece of scum. Had to read the riot act to and had to go walk for a hour and simmer down
There’s some people that luckily nothing crazy really happens to them so trying to understand a person that goes through crazy shit will sound bizarre and if they’re not open minded it’s like squeezing water out of a rock
I noticed people from the hood are better at instantly returning 'fire with fire' than middle class folks like me. Like, my cousins, if a total stranger is talking ish to the person standing behind them and they think they're talking to them, there is no, 'I don't even know you', no, 'Are you talking to me?' they're just straight 'F--- you too, n----'. Whereas I'd be like, 'Wait, what?' Like, I'd assume there was some mistake first, whereas they're automatically on some 'answer questions later' stuff. It's up to the other person to be like, 'I was talking to that guy, not you'. Which makes sense. And when they say that, you just say, 'We cool. I only said that cuz I thought you was talking to me.'
My cousin used to come home broken hand, broken foot from getting in fights on the block, he was winning but with a cost. So one day he comes home with broken hand and his mom says son, they don't ask how you won the fight but who won the fight, let that marinate.

He is correct talking about that switch between the ears and just be willing to do what the other guy is not willing to do. I have always looked at a guy's ring finger to see if he is married and actually brought it up during a confrontation and said, " you are married with kids buddy and I am not, think about it and let this shit go man" and they pumped the brakes, and everything stopped. My conceal carry license is a last resort. that's my two cents.

For multiple attackers. Buy or look up "Mass Attack" by Paul Vunak.

They are saying the problem is when you can't walk away and you have to defend yourself.
@@terrencetysor9956
True.

That dude is dark lol
Real talk.
Very well said
Not necessarily.
Being that dude will get you killed faster
SunTzu wouldn't have lasted long in a street fight 😂
Thats not very realistic though for the majority of people. Most people aren't or can't be "that dude." Especially not on a level where a random person would know you like that. You yourself could be "that dude," but I for example, don't know anything about you, never heard of you, nor have I ever seen you before. So if we got into a random altercation, how would I know you "that dude" beforehand.

My gramps taught me palm strikes before i learned how to punch. Its super effective.
Best way to win a street fight is to not get in one. But he's a smart guy, I'm assuming he said exactly that.
MJW is absolutely right especially for beginners very good advice
Just walking away
There are people out there who won’t let you walk away, still gotta learn to defend yourself
