I'm a lifelong fan of Bach, and love the way F.M. can help me generate that kind of music. Nice demonstration of Fugue Machine, and AUM. I am renewing my interest in iPad sequencers, and this helped/inspired me to do more. Thanks for making/sharing this. Best wishes for your continued fun/success with music 🎶☮🌎
Subbed for your style and knowledge as well as the grooves. I’m a massive fan of fugue machine, and fugues in general. I love how you can take a single simple melody and expand on it SO much.
Cool! (I get “Pictures at an Exhibition” vibes from some of the melodics.) Bought the Fugue Machine app yesterday. Really interesting to see how others are using it. Thanks for making the video.
Quite nice! I immediately went looking for Resonator. That’s Resonator Audio Unit, correct? I’ve got Fugue Machine installed on an old iPad AIR. The other apps you use may be too new to run on my maxed out AIR OS. We’ll see. Nice show! Thanks PS Yeah, playhead 4 really makes the track. It comes across as the playhead that brings in te emotional element, were you to pair this with a movie scene. Finally, I have AUM installed on the same AIR-never ever used it.
Man this is awesome! You make the most out of this wonderful ios platform. Really nice job. QUESTION: Is there a way to start/stop the different fugue machine channels using a midi controller?
@@mauromantovani5937 I’ve talked with him before about opening up the parameters for MIDI control. He is pretty busy with other projects, so I wouldn’t get your hopes up.
Hey thanks for the video! Very informative! Here’s a question: in AUM, is it possible to assign multiple playheads of the Fugue Machine to a single midi device, but on different channels? For example… send playhead 1 and 2 to a midi interface, with playhead 1 on channel 1 and playhead 2 on channel 2?
Yes, you can assign a different midi channel to each Playhead. Go to the three dot menu on the top right of Fugue Machine, then settings and you'll see the option to change the midi channel. Then you can just route each playhead where you want it to go with the normal routing in AUM.
Been using Fugue for a while and love it, but I feel a bit obtuse. As far as I can tell, Fugue doesn’t list the note names in the piano roll/midi area. You named one note in this video. Did you do that by hearing the note or do you see a label for the notes in Fugue that I am missing. Thanks!
I use the scale degree and the tonic to figure out the notes. If you click the three dots at the top left you can change the scale and the tonic, in this case, It's a C minor scale (which is the default). I know the C-minor scale is C D Eb F G Ab Bb C, and in FM the lighter grey line is the Tonic, in this case C, so I can just count up from there.
@@MobileMusicMaker YES! Thank you! That's exactly what i needed to know. I can figure the notes out by understanding the grey bar is the root of the scale. Thank you SO MUCH! Subscribed!
It’s part of the Spectrum Synth bundle. It’s free and it does a pretty good job of modeling Mutable Instruments Braids, Rings and Clouds (which is what the Granular effect is). Really great free bundle!
You can send the midi to other apps that have AUV3s. Fugue Machine does not save midi files. What I have done in the past is to run my iPad into Ableton Live through a USB cable to my laptop and recorded the midi output as a clip. I’ve also run it into Sibelius and had it notate the performance, which was interesting.
It hasn’t shown up in the list for my M1 Mac mini. I’ll post a video when it does. I’ll shoot an email to Alexander to see if he’s planning on making it available.
nice :) you could just mute the synths and use the 'master' play in FM to start the 4 heads simultaneously, then unmute each one as you like. btw what ipad are you using? this setup would kill my air2 :(
That would make life easier! I'll try that for the last two! I'm using a 1st Gen iPad Pro 12.9". Best music tool I've ever purchased. I record the screen, then edit in Adobe Rush and upload straight to UA-cam. The whole process is done on this thing.

The best AUM work I’ve seen yet. Just stunning to see what years of experience and music knowledge can do! 😜😍
Really nice balance and texturing.
Very tastefully done!
Great one for let me know Fugue Machine !!! and beautiful one from17'40". Thank you for all the videos about AUM🙌😎
Easier to play all playheads at once then unmute each channel individually :)
Saw vid in its entirety, thanks for sharing. Amazing what the AUM environment can do. Love the fugue machine app!
Wow, never thought of using Fugue Machine as a drum sequencer. Thanks for a very inspiring video!

Your work is absolutely awesome! Thank you for this!
Thanks!
Beautiful use of all the elements!
Thank you! Cheers!
This was really helpful - I use a lot of the same apps, but hadn't figured out all the intricacies of Fugue Machine yet. Thanks
I’ve had Fugue for some time and never used it like this. Awesome bro, really loved it . Got my mind boggling dude, very inspiring 🎹👍
Glad you enjoyed it! It’s such a great app!

Pretty smooth explanation for fing complex setup! Dope!

@@MobileMusicMaker Too bad. If you're in touch with him tell him to add that😁. Maybe that can be done somehow using ableton as a host program

Awesome! How did you manage to get Fugue to start playing with the AUM transport?
Make sure you've clicked the global play button in FM on the bottom left. Then have the play button clicked for each playhead you want to start.
@@MobileMusicMaker Thanks! Quite simple indeed ;)

Are the Midi Notes Transferable to other apps or can they be saved as midi files 9th May 2023
