    I move back and forth from cubase pro and ipad apps. I use a cloud based system to migrate files back and forth. It can be more time consuming but the results are unique. Sometimes I bring a well developed track into blocs wave and aum and work things around. Other times I will start a mew track and then bring into cubase pro to develop further. I can mix down and move ideas back and forth. The ipad for me is a playable surface with inspiring apps like fugue machine, fluss, gestrument, mononuke, Rosetta, fieldscaper etc. I always complete and mix and master my projects in Cubase Pro. I basically set up a folder track file In Cubase called ipad apps and import as needed.

    Stuff like multiple playheads and track localized bpm have stuck out to me for years as stuff you'd expect modern DAWs to revel in. But instead there's the same old 90's style sequencers with very little imagination or flexibility besides live looping. There's a bunch of cool little apps with great ideas, it would be great to see some of that in a computer DAW.

    • @iy42
      @iy42 3 роки тому +2

      @@straighttalk2069 Plugins aren't really ideal for changing fundamental principles of how a DAW is set up. Like, if I want microtonality I can use a plugin that retunes my MIDI data to different pitches, but the plugin isn't going to change the visual feedback I'm getting from the DAW's MIDI grid. Sure, there's manual workarounds for achieving just about anything, but it still seems very limiting that DAWs in 2021 mostly don't support much flexibility around rhythm and tonality. DAWs in general are much more constraining in their approach to what's easily achievable than equivalent programs in other mediums like video, photo and graphics editors.

    You know that all the parameters of each playhead can be changed, right? What do you mean you can modulate all the playheads? How? The slider on the right changes the pitch of all the notes. Is that what you mean or can it modulate other parameters? I think AUM is an acronym for audio unit mixer. It has so many powerful features. It allows you to control every exposed parameter of an audio unit using apps like MIDILFOS or some of the apps from the Rosetta Suite, among others. You can also send midi in and out of AUM. Have you tried the app Apematrix? It does most of what AUM does plus it has built in incredible modulation.

    Thats the beauty of AUM and realtime experiments and jams. Just record your stuff. Just enable record on all individuak tracks. Hit Record. And just do what you do. Trust me. Record your stuff to audio. Great stuff will happen if you don't and altough you can save your sessions, get in a habbit of recording all your seperate tracks and also create a master track. Then you have everything you need if it was a one of a kind moment.

      In the case of gadget, FM doesn't show Gadget In in the settings, but you set as Fugue Machine Out and Gadget listens
      On gadget, click on the gear and set midi from basic to advanced. In each gadget instrument you click on the ALL button besides IFX in the mixer view and choose your channel according to FM's playheads

      @Limbiclesion 4 роки тому +1

      MegaCadr Hi if your were to create a similar project or multitrack project it is possible to route sound streams through a multitude of effects.Further by adding a single audio send to each track it is possible to mix tracks and record a combined stereo track . You can record and export single stems or an entire mix to your computer DAW if you wanted to.
      Apps exist which can be inserted into a channel which are capable of multi track recording ( mono or stereo recording ) . When my work flow requires recording/editing complex multi channel midi material in real-time I use a third party IOS sequencer ( Xequence 2) which seamless integrates with AUM and acts as the master clock and handles automation.
      AUM will interface with all your favourite hardware, including most external Audio interfaces and is supported by many top end manufactures such as Eventide Wavemachine and Fabilters ( price comparisons recommended. ...its Klondike time ).

    • @michaelnervOus
      @michaelnervOus 3 роки тому +11

      The easiest way in AUM is have all your apps as separate channels and create a sub mix down to a stereo file. you can record the separate tracks (channels) at the same time if you need to move them over to cubasis or auria for mixing or you could just load the file recorded from each channel into a file player for mixing (both are a lot of work and why a lot of ppl just use gadget). I record the stems into logic or a hardware recorder on separate tracks or just mix live to stereo file.
      Just typing all that make me want to just use logic for ease of use....check out the tascam model 12 for simplifying all the different scenarios.
      I totally agree on the hard to make full compositions and mood killer of ios but it sure has come a long from the first ipad.
