Great video. I have a huge beef heart in the freezer and wanted some ideas on how to prepare and this did the trick. Subbed!
Fantastic video. i really like how you showed feeding the dogs the raw heart tubes. A lot of people are hesitant to feed their dogs raw meat and showing it in action really helps them. Thanks!
I was brought up on organ meat. My mother use to roast in the oven. Even though we knew it was heart we looked at it like it was roast beef. Then it went out of fashion . Since going keto 2 1/2 years ago I can't get enough , lambs heart been my favourite .
oooh that sounds so tasty! Lamb hearts really are delicious! Your momma knows best!
How do you eat it ??
Venison heart is my fave, then mutton😊
My mother would brown it and put it in the pressure cooker with garlic, make dressing and brown gravy, simply delicious!
You 2 girls are insanely smart. This is carnivore diet evolved. I feel like you are ahead of the game.
I just made heart for the first time using the first method in your video with the butter and salt. Omg it was delicious! Tastes very similar to steak!
Love you’re giving examples of organ meats, I’m lovin and learning about being carnivore... just was at the store and bought a beef heart just because of you guys!!! Well done 👍👍
The best “steak” sandwich I ever had was a lamb heart, cut into strips, marinated in lemon and olive oil, quick seared and on a fresh chibatta roll with a smattering of horseradish and arugula. Damn it was good.
Heart is the BEST source of taurine too!!
Agree! Love heart and all the benefits. It's always on the menu here. I like to broil it quickly in my oven and eat it with an egg yolk and suet in a bowl. Breakfast most mornings.
that sounds quite tasty! A beef heart breakfast bowl!
Great stuff ladies, thanks so much. Got a beef heart today from my local butcher and can’t wait to try it!
Thank you for making this video ladies! I've recently become very interested in organ meats, and your educational and instructional video has helped me take a lot of guess work out of it. Omg your recipes look so delicious! Thanx again!
Many thanks Ashley & Sarah. I have found a pasture for life certified farm 25 miles from where I live. Looking forward to trying Beef heart🙂x
I just had an amazing awoke conversation with a local butcher whilst enquiring about beef heart ect...he asked me what i was going to do with it...then we engaged in a really interesting educational dialogue!!👍
oh that's great to hear! Butchers have a lot of knowledge!
Yes Butchers are great! They helped me navigate from 45 yrs of vegetarianism into near death; now autoimmune AS Arthritis I needed to learn how to enjoy all of it particularly Tendons & Heart!
Just found your channel recently! Love the content! Can’t wait to learn more about how to eat “nose to tail”. 👍🏻
Really loving this "series", thanks for this!
thank you! Stay tuned for a lot more! ❤️❤️❤️
First time trying beef heart 🥩 today so good 😊
Concise, well explained, and you showed the steps. Great video. A local farmer sells beef hearts and I wanted to get more organ meat into my diet.
love this series! can't wait for the tongue
This is awesome. I just
got a half cow last month and have a whole heart to eat. ive never eaten heart before so i will have to try this
oh that is awesome! Hope you enjoy!
@@StrongSistas :D
I love my beef & deer heart broiled. Just an amazing taste, esp after a day of sitting in a balsamic vinegar.
that sounds quite tasty!
If you really can't take the straight up version, or the braised version, use heart meat with less lean pork or beef to make patties or sausages. The other meat will lend fat, and the seasonings you choose will help make it taste more familiar. You can even add liver and you'll barely notice it.
That was very delightful, ladies. Thanks!
i recently tried this sous vide style stuffed with bacon and mushrooms, was supposed to add spinach but i forgot. i made a gravy from the juices that came out and it was amazing, definitely going to make it again
Great video! We incorporate beef and chicken hearts and livers into our carnivore diet. Wonderful stuff grilled hot and fast or ground into burger with plenty of fat.
My local grocery store sells beef hearts in vacuum sealed bags (HEB in Texas). I cook on low in a a crock pot on low for 6 to 8 hours with some water or broth. I add stew veg half way thru. At the end I cut up the heart. I never bother trimming fat or cutting the arteries. you won't care. its is soooo beefy!
Jerky from heart ❤️ Thank you for the Idea. Why didn't I think of that 😢 Great job.
I like using Beef heart in beef and broccoli. You can cut it thin and stir fry it and it stays tender.
Y’all are awesome!!! Thank you
Good info to know! Thank you ladies!
I absolutely love beef hearts , I make stews , chilli , kabobs, and protein bowls , great for muscle growth 💪
Is the taste similar to liver?
Not at all. It’s very beefy tasting and tender. @@alexanderthegrape5370
@@alexanderthegrape5370no not really
Cool video this is a great series! My favourite way to cook heart is to get 2 slices off of my butcher and I cube it and sauté on the pan for a short time and eat it in the morning with eggs and bacon. I think heart is the organ with highest amount of magnesium? Would make sense because I always feel nice after eating heart.
according to the USDA database, there are about 23 mg Magnesium in 4 oz raw beef heart! That sounds like a tasty way to enjoy your heart!
Super, easy to follow intro' to preparing and cooking beef heart. I've been LCHF for around 7 years, but recently been considering moving more in the direction of carnivore. Don't think I'll cut green veggies out entirely, but would like to explore organ meats more in my diet. I just loved the idea of making burgers with beef heart. I see these items in my local supermarket - here in the UK - and can't believe how cheap they are. I already eat lamb and chicken liver, and have no issue with the taste or texture. Well-prepared, both are delicious.
Thanks so much for sharing!
I always do a quick sear. It tastes incredible, no iron taste.
we enjoy it that way, too!
Great video! I love heart! Looking forward to heart jerky!
Great video, I'm able to find some but not always the best cutting on it(how its sold, not me lol). I first tried it when I bought some to make jerky for dog and I cooked some. Now a favorite part.
Well done ladies, thank you 🔥🩸
Glad to see some love for the heart meat! Keep up the great work
thank you! It is quite tasty and loaded with nutrients!
This is a great video!
I also noticed the organ meats are CHEAP! And these days that's good. It's like I'm eating the "exquisite" meat for free
Many thanks! I love that you guys cook with animal fat too, have obviously done your research!
thanks for the informative video!
Omg, that's so raw. Hardcore. I'll go the second method for a while first
My mom used to fry this for us when we were little. It was never tough and it always tasted so good. The only problem I'm having is finding it here in Texas:(
Wild fork might have a location near you. They have a lot of different organ meats at good prices.
I just got one from HEB today. They might not have them at all locations but you could call and ask!
So helpful.
thanks ladies. informative.
Love that turner…. Go Irish!!!
Hi Ashley and Sarah,
The recipes are really great👌I would like to ask if you somehow use the remaining broth.
Thanks
Love it!
thank you!
Braising sounds good. I usually slice it and make stir fries with onions, garlic, and whatever vegetables are available.
Awesome sauce recipe ladies! 👌
Appreciate this video
Thankya for the video ^^
This is good thanks
Great recipe love it!
Great
beef heart is one of the best cuts of meats ever.
That ND spatula 💛💙
The overcooked second method hurts my 💙 😂 first version was cooked perfectly, lacked seasoning for me. Try some garlic rosemary butter basting. Regardless, you ladies are absolutely beautiful. Easily a new subscriber.
Heart is an overlooked food source.
agreed! What is your favorite way to cook it?
@@StrongSistas honestly...never had it...but your vid kicked me in the ass...just on my way to the butchers to pick up the goods...however I spearfish and eat the whole fish including the head and I eat liver...im new to this nutritional education...oh and natural probiotics....😊👍
Thanks
thanks for tuning in!
Oh Wow! Don't go jerking my heart!!😂
and the best comment award goes to...
I mean beef heart its technically muscle just like ribeye. Never had it but i definitely wanna try it
the one on the left so cute
Just found you guys. Hope you have plenty more content?!
sis in back is fly af
Give the good bois a piece of jerky!
YES to jerky
Wow, that *literally looks like steak!* 🥰🥰
right??? It tastes like one, too!
@@StrongSistas all that coq10! :-)
😋😎
I'm anemic and really need to get some iron in my diet. I have been grinding up beef heart and adding it to my ground beef and I can't taste it. Thanks for the video!
Good video. You made it look so easy to cook.
“Where to find heart?” Well in the chest, slightly to the left! 😂
OK... I know this is an old video so not sure if it will get a reply but I'll try anyway. All the recipes for jerky I see seem to require marinating in some concoction. Is this necessary for successful dehydration or can I just lightly salt and season? TIA.
I wish I could just try a small piece before buying a GIANT steer’s heart lol.
Mmmmm paper towel fibers tasty
Good Morning 👋❄️⛄️☃️💙❤️👍
good morning to you Toni!
How does a braise/stew affect the b vitamin/selenium content?
🙏😎🏆😋
Will the acidic medium reduce the nutrient profile?
I like anticuchos
We're you guys on the Dr. Show?
Dont go breaking my heart...😅😅 (song)
Hi. What salt did you use? Thank you!
I know with chicken hearts, I have to cut every heart open and remove the blood clots before cooking. Is this a similar problem with beef hearts? Will there be blood clots?
Low and slow seems better. Add mushrooms and potatoes... Yeah that'd be good.
Meximart or asian markets have the best and cheapest meat. If you're not into the taste of beef heart you can soak it in milk or lime water for an hour first.
Man, that is what I call a “Hearty Meal”
I'd try the one@3:33💯😋
How long is dehydrated beef heart good for out of the fridge?
Love the video but salting before cooking makes the heart tougher.
Sistaz doing it for themselves...😅
sorry what do you mean?
Do you let the heart rest before cutting it
This sure makes me feel better about eating my cheapo Heart frozen burgers. They don't put that on the front of the packaging. "100% beef" 😄
Hello folks. Can anyone tell me if fat on the heart can be used in sausage making? Am in the UK and back fat is a pain to get hold of
Pump it up..pump up the volume...(song) 😅😅
Good morning my ANGELS
Have a lovely day
Love PALAPAS
Good morning PALAPAS! Hope you are having an amazing day!
Go Irish!
Guess we know which doggo is the favorite...
I thought blockchain backer was about to play lol. Same theme song
