    The heat shield should be put on as well. The heat from the engine is going straight into the intake. So I’ve heard. So maybe that’s why you lost a bit of hp

      Absolutely. The heat shield was installed during the dyno run but for some reason I misplaced the bolts for the top case. I’ve now located those bolts and put that on

    I said it before and I’ll say it again , all those intakes increase heat soak into the engine and so the more the engine warms up with each pull the car will be making less power, factory airbox works best on the B58 with just a drop on filter like AFE for example. This test confirms what I’ve been saying to people all this time.

    Try a turbo and manifold blanket by Funk Motorsport. I've just had a stage 2 with MST intake, hpfp and the blankets. My intake temp was 26.7 °c where ambient temperature was 18.3°c. tune done by Litchfield so much larger Dyno space. I'm sure the blankets made a difference.

    I think the intake would perform better with a cold air feed, especially on the open road. I know dyno cells have fans but they won’t mimic airflow when moving

    8:25 666 maximum rpm.I see that number everyday. The M240i is going to be my next car in the future. I think I made a decision on my next car. It also has the B58. I have been researching for months now. So my next choices are a Supra, M240i, or M4. I am leaning towards the M240i because of the price, B58, and extra space. I will contact Darwinpro to see if their F22/M2 spoiler wing fits on the M240i. It is the best wing on the market for the 2 series BMW cars, and I rarely see it on any cars in pictures. This is what I am thinking about as my next car. I have researched the F82 M4 and A90 Supra. Now I have discovered this neat little M240i car with the x-Drive option. I think my next car in the future will be a 2017-2020 M240i because of the price, AWD x-Drive option, it has the B58 engine, and it has the extra car space I like. I don't like the appearance of the next generation of 2 series cars. 2018-2020 are the years I will choose. I have a stock 2016 Genesis Coupe 3.8 right now. The car is already becoming rare. Save it for the value, or sell it? Hmmm. 348 horsepower was nice to experience, but I am ready for the next level. I have never been in a turbocharged or supercharged car before.

      You won’t regret a B58, that’s for sure. Keep us posted on which car you end up going for!

    What I really like is that the hood stayed closed during the dyno runs. I see cars on the dyno with the hood opened way too many times and that falsifies the results.

      Good to know, I never knew 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Since your Stage 1 tune, have you noticed the car cutting power during full throttle shifts? I basically have the same mods...Speed-Buster piggy-back chip and K&N Air Filter...and when the chip is on, I notice what feels like a cut in power during full throttle shifts, as if the car is cutting torque to protect the transmission. If you don't have these symptoms, did your Stage 1 tuner also update the transmission tune? I am wondering if I need to install xHP Trans Tune.

      I don’t get any power cuts during full throttle shifts. My tuner hasn’t done anything to my transmission but if you wanted to xHP is the way forward. As a part of my tune, some of the engine and transmission parameters did reset as a part of that tune so the car essentially learnt how to drive again but that’s normal when performing an ECU tune. I would highly recommend you getting in touch with Mod-Stock if you have any further questions.

      @@thepetroholics Thanks for the reply. Maybe as I installed a piggyback chip and didn’t have the car ecu flashed, it behaves differently. I’ll probably try xHP once I have the money. 👍🏻

      @@rnagle8287I'd get the Xhp flash as soon as you can, your own license too, it re/moves the torque limiter and you have loads of options you can tweek.. My stage 2 kept dropping boost even with the flash, so more torque than the 459ilbs-ft/622nm that the tune delivered at Litchfield.

    • @munners0852
      @munners0852 Рік тому +1

      I had a JB+ box doing the same as your speed buster, I used to get a power drop at gear change but only at full whack gunning it even with the Xhp flash but not every time. Get an ECU tune done with xhp and that will sort it.

    Saw a previous video where you said you experienced throttle lag prior to the tune. Is there any lag in stage 1?

    • @thepetroholics
      @thepetroholics  Рік тому

      When the stage 1 tune was uploaded, I believe the engine and transmission parameters essentially reset meaning the car learns again. During this process the throttle lag went away but eventually came back when the car learnt it again. I tried to reset the throttle parameter separately (this is something you can do yourself with no tools) and this made a positive impact. However, again it came back so maybe resetting the throttle every 6 months or so is the answer :(

      @@thepetroholics Yea I reset my throttle, but once I get in traffic it relearns slow driving lol.

    Which fuel ? So basically mst is just for sound. I think with just dropin filter it will be better results maybe and for much cheaper. Does it have fresh spark plugs ?

    • @thepetroholics
      @thepetroholics  Рік тому +1

      Car has been fully serviced including new spark plugs and running on shell v power. Only positive I will say is the MST Siri take did help produce a higher torque figure.

    Hi kaz what was the cost to dyno the car

    • @thepetroholics
      @thepetroholics  Рік тому +1

      £70 a session but you can negotiate down if you’re doing multiple runs.
