That's the issue with European dynos, they do too much of the conversion and thinking for you. Therefore, when the cars come to the US they are all considered underrated by our tests, done by our regulatory board in the US, which is SAE. All the cars in the video have about 15-20% more than they are suppose to. If you do a proper calibration of our dynos which is based on the actual and real definition of hp, our dynojet is correct, and that's the one that SAE uses, and it's to the wheels, which SAE then calculates the crank hp for the manufacture. Europe and their dynomax is forcing all cars to have more hp than they did prior to 2006, which is when SAE came in and tried to put a stop to the overrated and underrated cars. In 2006, most Japanese cars turned out to be overrated and had to be rerated down about 4%, while the European cars were all underrated and nothing was done because you got more than you asked/paid for. Now-a-days everything has gone underrated, even the Japanese cars... why, because they have to compete with the underrated european cars. Completely confuses people. Why have ratings, if they mean nothing. If drivetrain losses are 14% FWD, 17% RWD, and 20% AWD... but the car is underrated by 15-20%, what's the point in trying to explain to people that there are losses, but then the extra power basically cancels out the losses. Europe is winning this battle of what is correct, not because science and physics says so, but because they are wrong in the extra power direction. It's like having more money, and you are correct not because it's the fact, but because you have more money... and that's a fact. FREAKIN JUST RATE THE DAMN CAR CORRECTLY! IF YOU NEED A PHYSICS BOOK, GO GET ONE!
