I always thought I hated wearing colors. Last summer I worked with a stylist who told me what my best colors were (soft autumn season palette). Now I wear every colour under the rainbow but soft, warm and of medium value. Learning YOUR best colors is one of the most important style advice. Thank you for your videos! :)

Did you hire a seasonal color stylist? I'm thinking of having my colors done, because I only know a few colors I look good in, and it's limiting. It sounds like you had a great experience!

This topic was one of my favourites, loved the dynamics you did by taking out the bag and perfect hair + makeup on those boring outfits. You have such an unique perspective on things that is rare to find online and especially on UA-cam, but I feel just like you, I am vibrant and spicy as well and I want others to see me like I see myself.

Love this episode Priska!! Your pink suit is one of my favourites on you!! Everything about it is perfect! The colourful dress is just wOW!!
You really know YOUR best colour palette. How did you learn this? Trial and error or did you have your colours done?
    I love your channel!!!
I have always worn a lot of neutrals like black, and certain shades of navy and charcoal and beige, like a deeper caramel, but only the ones that suit my colouring. I then add in some colourful accessories, like Fuschia shoes. Or a colourful scarf in my best colours. Ivory as a neutral looks horrible on me. Whatever neutrals someone decides to wear, they must remember to choose the tones of these colours that suit them. A lot on Influencers who espouse neutrals don’t teach that aspect of wearing them.

Thank you! 🥰 I haven't had my colors analyzed yet, but I'm working on it. I suppose just looking at enough film of myself quickly reveals the good versus the bad. Yes, caramel is a beautiful neutral. I think of it more like an orange shade though. It has life!

You are soo absolutely right. We all change and we wont wear things for 10-15 years, things, even good quality items, wear out, especially when having less items and then wear them more. And dipping into designers and quality items, the designer items are not worth the price when we get to quality. Medium to higher quality brands give you same quality, and more choice with regards to design. And definitively show who you are in your clothes. Thanks

I do enjoy more neutrals but I have certain colours that I love and feel great wearing. Since they all play well together I enjoy this happy medium. I also love seeing people like you wearing color. Just because I don’t feel as confident doing that much color doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate it on others. Love your ideas and thoughts as it helps me embrace those color moments that I have. Yeah!

If this were a debate between the colourful and neutral camps, I think you might have won! I like both when done well. Bold reds and crisp whites especially make me happy. I agree that what lifts a colourless (or colourful) look is well done hair and makeup, as well as clothes that fit well, flatter your shape and are in good condition.

You really stand out in a good way Priska, also here on YT🤩 I adore your videos and you inspire me to be more brave and wear more colorful clothes. I had a color analysis about a year ago, and was surprised to be a warm autumn, but I like those colors and look forward to wear rosy, rusty, golden shades, with petrol, purple and chocolat brown (definitely not white). It will take some time though… unfortenately some of the shops you recommend don’t ship to Sweden… and it’s not an alternative to shop my closet😂
I would love some more tips on how to overcome the fear, get out of that rut and start to wear more colors, when you haven’t done it so much💓

That's great to hear! Do you have a Boden in Sweden? They're London-based, so they might ship to you.
One quick tip about starting to wear colorful clothes is to find the one color that you want to be the cornerstone of your wardrobe. I jokingly say that burgundy is my neutral, because it comprises so much of my closet. Just start with one color (like in an everyday handbag or shoes), and expand from there. You got this! 👏 👏

  • @sophie1766
    @sophie1766 10 місяців тому +1

    I agree with your reasoning.
An addition: As someone who lived and suffered through the 90s and y2k fashions, back then it was either the clean, minimal esthetic à la Calvin Klein, or crazy colorful outfits that looked all over the place (and certainly not chic). (I disliked both as a teenager and turned to my mother's 70s clothing instead. 😅) Examples of colorful elegant everyday outfits were rare and IMO it didn't really get better since then.
Even more so as here in Germany people generally value practicability and blending in more than personal expression. So if most people actually prefer not to stick out so much, telling them "wear neutrals=more chic" actually plays neatly into their bias.
A bit late - but a Happy New Year to you! 💃💫🍀

Yes! I love colors. I wear mainly purple, red, navy blue, petrol blue, royal blue and burgundy in the winter time and bright red, terracota, royal blue, Kelly green, sage green and magenta in the summer time. Whenever I can afford it, I buy clothes that are made of natural fabrics such as linen, cotton, merino wool and cashmere, so even though they're colorful, they look classic. Every now and then I wear black because it's the easiest option (and the easiest to clean!). In white, cream and beige I look sick or even like a corpse and wear these colors only when I want to blend in the crowd without anyone noticing me...
