The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, advised us in the “wars” and said: “Do not cut down a tree.. and do not kill a woman, a boy, a newborn, an old man, or a sick person.. do not mutilate corpses.. do not kill extravagantly.. do not destroy a temple, and do not vandalize a building.” Amer.. Even camels and cows are not slaughtered except for eating.” He also recommended us to do good to the captive, to honor him and feed him.. and to fulfill the covenant.. and finally, not to force anyone to convert to Islam.. After him came the reign of our master Umar ibn al-Khattab al-Faruq, who distinguished between the truth and the truth. And falsehood, may God be pleased with him.. (Their churches shall not be inhabited, nor demolished, nor shall their good, nor their crosses, nor any of their wealth be diminished. They shall not be forced against their religion, and none of them shall be harmed). Omar follows the law of the Messenger of God
Questions to Dr. Laher: 1- Legal theory Usul al Fiqh is known of its literature and its methods: a) Hanafi method (Tariqatul Fuqahaa) and Shafi method (Tariqatul Mutakalimeen). Thus, linking Usul al-Fiqh to Kalam as presented does not reflect accurate characterization. What are your thoughts on this? Please?? 2- Imam Shafi in his Risalah talked about Khabar al-A'ammah and Khabar al-Khassah. Upon reading his explanations, examples and elaborations, Imam Shafi meant by Khabar al-A'ammah the Tawatur. So, it is not quite accurate to suggest that this concept was introduced my Mu'tazilah Thanks Dr Laher
Can you make a video on Hadith of prophet Muhammad about when he S.A.W was little 4 years old,the angle cam down and cut his chest and remove the evil desire line from which sytan comes into ones heart to whisper is removed by Allah's will,so that christians who blame Muhammad of getting revelations from demons they can be shut down,as this story is mentioned in many sahib and tafseer, translated books of Muslim scholars. This happens when he was in care of Hazrat halima his caretaking mother not with his actual mother Hazrat Amna.
Haven't watched the full lecture yet, but I think the Sheikh and Ustad Bassam are mistaken in saying that there is tawatur when it comes to the claim that someone in the time of Jesus, peace be upon him, was crucified. As Dr. Ali Ataie and Dr. Louayy Fatoohi pointed out in their works and in their videos in blogging theology, there is not a single eye witness testimony for the supposed crucifixion of Jesus, peace be upon him. All we have are the New Testament, whose texts are not written by a single eye witness and or disciple (i.e. someone who met the living Jesus, peace be upon him, on earth) of Jesus, peace be upon him, and we have non-Christian sources like the testimonoium of Flavius Josephus who were either forged by Christians or those non-Christian sources simply rely on the testimony of later Christian groups who have also not met the historical Jesus, peace be upon him. Thus, the crucifixion, even of any individual in Jesus', peace be upon him, time is not mutawatir at all. We don't have any chain of transmission (Isnad), we don't have anyone confirming the honesty, piety and good memory of the witnesses etc. Thus, I think, that no tawatur can be established, except the verse in the Qur'an in Surah 4, I think, where Allah says that "They killed him not, nor did they crucify him, But it appeared unto them so...". This is the only mutawatir evidence that something appeared unto those people, presumably the Jews and maybe Romans, that made them think that they killed Jesus, peace be upon him. What exactly this means is up to scholarly debate, as far as I know. May Allah help all of us.
In the book "Prophet Jesus and Hazrat Mahdi will come this century" a chapter is devoted to this topic and demonstrates how all ahadith on Mahdi and Jesus' reappearance are Muttawatir solid. Salaam.
Hi Paul, I am just posting here because this is your most recent video and hopefully that will mean that you see this. I am a Christian but have been developing a keen interest in Islam recently - in part due to confusion about the trinity, and I suppose what you might call a strong monotheistic tendency in myself. Whether or not Jesus is God, the thing that drew me towards Christianity most was the crucifixion. This seems to me to be the very essence of all religion and morality. We are to ‘crucify the old Adam’ in us and be reborn in the spirit, and Christ gives us an example, that we are to forgive and bear the suffering of others as our own if we are to find salvation. I know that Islam respects Christ as a prophet and ‘friend of God’ but doesn’t believe in the crucifixion or resurrection. I wonder if you might do a video about the crucifixion from a Muslim perspective, why don’t you believe in it etc? To me this is the special contribution of Christ and while I might go back and forth on the concept of the trinity, Christianity doesn’t make sense to me without the passion and resurrection. And I actually see it as the most succinct encapsulation of what religion is to be found in many religions. P.S in Hinduism there is an idea that The One God gave himself as a sacrifice at the beginning of time, so that the cosmos might be born through his blood, and yet The One God is not diminished by this act.
