The Easiest Taco Casserole, and so delicious

- Are you ready for the easiest taco you can ever make? Let's put it in casserole form, easily comes together, and you will have a delicious meal in less time than it takes you to go through the drive-thru at your local fast food taco restaurant. This is also an amazing dish to serve on your football party table. Make it, bake it, set it out with the toppings and let everyone help themselves. Recipe below.

Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1 cup salsa
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 package taco seasoning
2 cups crushed tortilla chips
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 cup monterey jack cheese, shredded
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Brown ground beef and onions in a large skillet. Drain any grease in the pan. Stir in the salsa, mayonnaise, and taco seasoning. Remove from the heat at this time. Spread half of the meat mixture into a 2-quart casserole dish. Cover with 1 cup of the crushed tortilla chips. Sprinkle cheeses over the chips. Repeat the layers. Cover with aluminum foil. Bake casserole for 30 minutes or until cheese is melted and casserole is heated through.

Hi Karen I am so happy I found you. I’m 80 and have always hated to cook but you have made me want to try. You fix down to earth food that look pretty easy to do. I am a vegetarian and have been ever since I found out that meat comes from animals. But my husband eats everything. I cook meat for him but don’t like to. I loved your breakfast pockets I am going to fix some for my husband,Miles, I am thinking I can put potatoes,onions, and cheese in some for me. I fix Miles fin foil dinners some.
I tried to find your cook book on Amazon but couldn’t, must be sold out. We live in Littlefield, Texas about 25 miles from Lubbock. You said you love Tennessee, I do also. We lived close to Memphis for a year. Miles was in the Marine Corps and he went to a school there.

Thank you Bonnie. I'm sure potatoes, onions, cheese, plant based meats, would be delicious in these. And, he might not know the difference. That baking dish is a perfect size for a toaster oven. If you only make two person meals and use that size of dish, you may want to think about getting one. It will save you heating up the whole oven for just a little dish.

I’ve water bath canned a few things and never pressure canned anything yet. My kitchen is small and no were to put extra stuff.
I’m 61 in 5 days snd figured at 60 last year I’d learn to water bath can. My ex was not going to garden nor have anything to do with canning anything nor support it.
This guy I’m with whom I graduated with same school is all for gardens and canning if I choose to. Stock up he says on food.

@@debraherring2427 the electric canner so I heard true or false has not been tested yet. Is it safe? I’d use it if it was approved since I haven’t canned with a pressure canner. I can water bath just fine. It’s easy what I can chili base, hot salsa and spaghetti sauce from Ms wages or ball books .
@debbiealtman5373 it is very safe. And yes, it is USDA approved. I'm scared of the other canners. I never used, neither did my mama, so I'm just not used to being around them. Howe, I saw this, and decided I'd try it, and I love it. ❤️
@@KarenJonesFoodFamily I own a water bath canner that’s electric but it’s too big and bulky.
They have a pressure canner that’s electric that I’d use if .,,. I’ve heard good things about it and bad stuff don’t use it.
The electric water bath canner is huge. I got it because I didn’t have room on my stove for a counter at the time. Then we did a kitchen semi remodel and now we have a Gastro and so I have room on my stove for regular canner. We kind of moved, our counter over just a couple inches so we could have a 30 inch gas stove. The stove is exactly like yours, Karen.
@debbiealtman5373 the one I use, Prest, will pressure can and water bath. If you think you might like one, I recommend it, check it out in my Amazon store.
