I just wanted to say thank you! Im not a wedding photographer but I have learned so much from you the last couple of weeks. I'm blessed that I found this Channel. It's filled with tons of useful information!
Amazingly creative stuff. Been doing photography for almost 50 years now, and have never come across something so amazingly creative. Thank you so much. New subscriber absolutely. Wish you were in the US, I would hire you in a second to photograph our wedding next year.
Thank you so much for your session the other week. I enjoyed it immensely and I appreciate that you left it up for a couple of days so I could digest it over a couple of days. These are very fun techniques.
I've seen & greatly admired several of the "How I shot this" series, & have always wondered how you achieved these effects. Now I know! Thanks for sharing this technique & always encouraging the rest of us to keep experimenting. ✌
Thank you for this video. It is incredibly helpful and insightful. Hopefully one day I can come along to one of your wedding photography courses and learn from the master :-) Thanks again. Jermaine.
After watching your videos I ordered a pack of fractal lenses. Looking forward to experimenting with them. My cousin has asked me to photograph her wedding. As it's my first attempt at shooting a wedding I'm hoping to give a few of the images the wow factor. Thanks for the inspiration! 👍
@@NeilRedfern Cheers Neil. I shot the wedding on Friday and I absolutely loved it. Was a bit stressed when I woke up but I watched your video again giving advice on shooting your first wedding and it helped me focus. Once I was in the moment I found the adrenaline just carried me through and the day just whizzed by. Considering it was my first attempt with pretty basic consumer equipment I'm very pleased with some of the images I achieved, more importantly my cousin is delighted. Your videos have definitely been a help and inspiration, so thank you so much. Now I've had a taste I hope I get a chance to do more.
Thanks for making this video. I learned a lot. Just a suggestion, it will be great to see how you edit these pictures in LR or PS whenever you have time to make one. Thanks again.
Haha! I am pleased you found the answer :-) Yes, different focal lengths will give you different effects but personally I am a fan of the 35mm. 85 can look nice too but in a different way. Thank you again for the kind words Tony!
Hi ! great video ! i have been shooting with crystals for a while and i absolutely love them. would you recommend the fractals? i have been doing my research on them but the price point gets me !
Thank you very much Neha! I would but bear in mind that they are not something you would probably use very often, and as you say they are not cheap so it's not an easy decision
Neil Redfern I’m from Australia so I’ll be paying almost $200 with the added shipping fees ! Do you think the fractals are sturdy enough to survive international shipping ? It so I’ll give them a crack !
I understand with the fractal kaleidoscope, you can focus more or less easily through the its center. But, some of the others have so many facets, it is difficult for me, with the crystals that I have, to focus through them, even with manual focus. It is that you are making your point or areA of focus adjacent to the crystal?
Thank you! Haha, it was meant as a joke. As I love wedding photography so much it sometimes doesn't feel right to call it a job as it doesn't feel like work to me :)
@@rafaelerum6600 Basically you want to expose for the brightest ambient light in the scene. Everything else will then be underexposed - and you then add in the flash

Neil Redfern meaning it would have been good to see how different situations and certain crystals would work and their effects, meaning you were talking about Photos there should have been more photos. You are used to doing that technique, if a person like me is not used to it, more examples of different crystals (photos) would have bee helpful not just verbal theories. Mind you your information was good but more specific examples would have been More helpful.
@@sardomnumspa I understand your point but I think you have to remember the time that would take - I don't know if you realise how much time and effort goes in to making videos like this? I am a very busy wedding photographer in the middle of wedding season - I don't have the time to spend days and days making a video. I feel as though the content which I make. which is completely free to you as well, is good quality and gives my subscribers a good starting point for them to go out there and experiment for themselves.
I have been photography for 11 years and I have learned something from this video. Thank you!
Very kind of you - thank you very much!
I use phone reflections quite often with 50mm at f2.0 and it works like a charm!
Thank you Neil!
Thank you for sharing your talents with us Neil!! Blessings to you from Texas!

A comment and a link is always more than enough - thank you Pat :)

This is so useful thank you! Do you ever use prisms/glass etc without using flash or off camera flash please?
Super
Hi Niel love your work and videos. Just wondering where you buy your prisms? I particularly like the round with the handle that you use. Thanks
Thank you very much Paul! I mainly buy my crystals from Amazon - link in the description - and the round filter is from www.getfractals.com/
Are there certain focal lengths that these techniques work better with, than others?
Love your passion! Way to live your life!
I got caught! lol... I just watched the whole video and found that you already said which. Thank you, Neil!!!

Could you put links to those glasses on Amazon?

Neil, do you ever incorporate these crystals with detail shots or only with portraits?
Thank you for these demonstrations by the way.
I have done sometimes but not very often to be honest
hello sir,How do I get these? Please tell me.
Best place is Amazon - just search for crystals and prisms
Thanks sir.

@@NeilRedfern thank u for ur answer love ur all video thankx I am photographer and I have canon R6. Keep it up sir.👍🏼
What's the ideal focal length? Anything shorter than 85 seems to clearly show the object
For me, 35mm at a wide aperture :)
Where can i buy the fractal filter?? I can find! 😢😢😢
Hi Monica, if you Google Fractal Filters their website should come up
Lovely Vdo sir

Thank you for putting this together. I'm always looking for new techniques. Nice collection. Production note: sound was poor, too flat and reverb.
Thank you Kevin! Yep, I am now working from a new MacBook Pro and the sound straight out of it is very bass heavy, I will look in to this
How you came out with this ideas?
