Lovely performance….. also check out The Corries singing this in the 1960s. It’s on UA-cam. They were the pioneers of music video (or music film as it was then) I think it was on the collection Years Must Roll On along with other great Scottish songs.
Who is this beautiful woman with such a great voice? She really is into this song - her head bobs back and forth at 1:30. They have a chemistry as they play together too. I don't know if it goes beyond the music but they sure play so well together, and she is really enjoying herself!
I always liked the Steeleye Span version, on the 'Parcel of Rogues' album. Still my favorite 'Electric Folk' band. And this version is wonderful, too. The young woman has a lovely voice. But my personal favorite is still Ewan MacColl and Peggy Seeger on their album 'The Jacobite Rebellions'. The Jacobites REALLY didn't like George 1st (Geordie Whelps), right?
@@wemavericksmusic hello We Maverick. I love your music. Please check your email. I asked you a few weeks ago if you would be kind enough to send me your autographs. I think someday soon you will be famous and I won't have a chance to get those signatures!

Love it!! Steeleye fan since the early 70s, but you guys are just wonderful!!!
Hey, that's pretty good! With lots of cool ideas too. Bravo!
I love this girls voice, fabulous, the harmonies are great and the musicianship, voila! an absolute treat x
Anyone chords and tuning for this version please ? Brilliantly done ....what a voice
God what a voice and love the rhythm shifts. Great talent ❤
Never thought that I, should hear THIS song before coma. Everything is possible. Remember covid.
Superb performance. 🤩👍
Oh that is impressive and powerful - well done!
Love it , going to find some more of there songs
Love it. Thank you ! ❤
Amazing playing and amazing voice!
Great version - amazing voice
Nailed it.
Sweetest ever!
Love the Lute! And they give Maddy a run for her race!
I believe he's playing a mandolin and not a lute! Nonetheless the music is incredible.
Could make a Jacobite out of a Yorkshireman! Great!
Awesome rendition, a simpler , clearer version from the Steeleye Span one. Powerful voice, beautifully done !
Indeed, this is an excellent rendition of this song.
However, clarity is never easy with "Cam Ye O'er Frae France".
Look up The Corries version.
I have, but still like this version.@@andrewdrummond1244
Nice version and wonderful voice!
Brilliant!

This is brilliant, real feel of Scotland, making me home sick great musicianship as well
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Great version. Haven't heard this song in many years❤
Even better than Steeleye Span version ❤️
And that's a pretty high bar.
Best version ever. So authentic.
I can’t believe you are not Scots after that rendition. And to think I could have heard you in Victoria last year when I was over in Mordialloc.
Such a beautiful and awesome version, you play so well together
Thank you very much! 🙏😊
Braw. Here's tae the King, Lady and Sir. Ye ken wha I mean.

Long live the House of Hanover!
I wish I knew what they were singing about, but it was gret.
Look it up in Wikipedia, it explains what it's all about!
I first heard this on a Steeleye Span album and your interpretation is far better😄
Yes I agree. This version is better than Steelye Span. And she has a voice as good as Maddie's too.
We're flattered, thank you. Love Steeleye 🙏

She's good, but there's no comparison to Maddie Prior!
Yes Maddie is a legend, we can only be who we are but we can always be inspired by those who have gone before.
