  • This is dedicated to Ron Dante and Donna Marie. Its one great song that should have been a big hit. This is a tribute video. All music and video copyrights are property of and owned by their holders. No infringement intended.

By the end of 1970 when this was released "bubblegum" music was pretty much dead. Tommy Roe, Ohio Express, and 1910 Fruitgum Co's hits were over. Andy Kim switched labels and styles and hit big in 74 with "Rock Me Gently" This probably would have been a much bigger hit with a different group name than "The Archies"

You're mostly correct, but the Partridge Family kept it going a few years more.

This Archies animated music video is truly amazing. Now if someone can make more Archies animated music videos with great songs like "Over And Over", "Love And Rock N' Roll Music", "Suddenly Susan", "Waldo P. Emerson Jones", "Archie's Party". "It's The Summertime", "This Is Love" & other cool Archies songs that were never aired on TV, that would be great. I'm glad I'm still an Archies lifetime fan & I never get tired of their cool bubblegum music. But thanks for posting this music video, The Archies still rock! Always dazzle with groovy excitement!

Hey, does anybody have the BUMPIN' BETTY song? I fondly remember that song from the Archie/Sabrina: Super Witch cartoon show.

@seldomheardsongs I would love to see unreleased songs by the Archies too! I had all their LPs except for the last one, This is Love, which was not distributed properly! Thanks for posting these terrific Archies tunes!

    RON DANTE RULES!

The other songs are just as wonderful-3 were co-written by Ron Dante ("Carousel Man", "Hold On To Lovin'", and "Throw A Little Love My Way") and several were co-written by Ritchie Adams, who co-wrote 5 out of the 12 songs on "Everything's Archie", The Archies' second album. "This is Love" was released in 1971. At the time, The Archies were still on the air, but no new episodes were being made. The show continued in reruns until 1975, when new epsodes were made in honor of the bicentennial.

Nope, Betty was always more of Archie's type. Veronica and Reggie belonged together.

They should have just kept the original format. It would have lasted 20 years.

By the way, here's an interesting tidbit for Archie fans-The Archies, who represent classic bubblegum music, and The Sweet, the hard-rockin' 70's group from the UK ("Little Willy", "Ballroom Blitz", "Fox On The Run", "Love Is Like Oxygen") have more in common than most people know! When The Sweet first started out in the late '60's-early '70's they named The Archies as one of their inspirations! In fact, they even recorded The Archies' song "Get On The Line" on one of their first albums!

Fantastic tune! Always loved it! Your animated sequences fit it perfectly! I have all The Archies' albums, 6 in all, including their recent Christmas release, which once again features Ron Dante as the singing voice of Archie. While I love all the music on every album, there's a certain sophistication on the "Sunshine" and "This is Love" albums that is not present on the others. "Together wWe Two" was the only song on the album written by the song writing team of Jeff Barry and Andy Kim.

I just bought a copy of "Andy Kim's Greatest Hits", releasedi in 1974. I'm assuming was released before "Rock Me Gently" became a hit, because it is not on this collection. But it DOES have "How'd We Ever Get This Way", and I was pleasently suprised (but not really THAT surprised) to find out that Jeff Barry and Andy Kim wrote that song too! No wonder it sounds so much like "Together We Two"! Interestingly, "3 is a Magic Number" came out as a single right around the same time!

Cornbreadthedog. The Bumpin' Betty song you're referring to was a dance of the week song called The Betty and played to You make me wanna dance. Somewhere on here someone did a mix to The Betty that is pretty good.

Right, I know, but with only 500 characters per comment to write with, I couldn't give the ENTIRE history of Archie cartoons in only a couple of comments. (The Archie Show, The Archie Comedy Hour, Archie's TV Funnies, Archie's Funhouse Featuring the Giant Jukebox, Tbhe U. S. of Archie, The Archie/Sabrina Hour, just to name a few!)Actually, "Archie's TV Funnies" was the first "Archie" cartoon on television that I can remember watching! It's nice that oter peop;le remember these c;assics too!

I know the song "How'd We Ever Get This Way?" It's a lovely song! When a friend of mine gave me a copy of the song we both noted how much it sounded like the song "Together We Two"! By the way, where are you from? Just asking, because you're the third or fourth person this month that I've heard refering to bubblegum music as "pop"! I'm from Palatine, Illinois, just about 40 miles northwest of Chicago, in the United States, of course! I love The Archies, The Sweet, The Ohio Express, etc.

There's another lovely tune this great song makes me think of: Have you ever noticed how similiar this song sounds to Schoolhouse Rock's "Three is a Magic Number"? in melody and chord structure? While "Three is a Magic Number" may not be as romantic as "Together We Two" it's a lovely song by itself, and the accompanying cartoon is cute too! Plus it's educational! Hey! Maybe there IS a connection between the songs- I mean, think about it! Together we TWO.......THREE is a magic number......
