Three-finger drag wasn’t buried this deep years ago in older Mac OS versions. It used to be right there on the trackpad gesture option screen.
I think that’s why many of us are so familiar with it.

Pro Tip - Don't fall into the SetApp subscription trap no matter how badly your favorite youtuber recommends it. Just buy the apps using credit and payback in your monthly installments if you can't afford one. In the long run you end up saving more money and also you get to OWN the app and not rent it. This 'renting' apps is plain stupid as most apps offer a unlimited 30-day or 7-day free trails for you to check out if you are really interested.

Three finger drag is perfect. I believe it is that which allows you to slide four fingers up to get to app switcher. I could be wrong. Another thing is changing settings to allow command + 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 to switch between desktops. I have a couple different apps on each desktop, so I can either just swipe with four fingers left or right to switch desktops OR the Command + # method. So quick multitasking. Much wow.

For time machine if you’re router has a USB port and you’re mainly at home, worth plugging your hard drive in there and your Mac will back up every hour over the local network, that way you don’t forget and don’t have to plug it into the Mac manually each time. All ASUS routers in the past 10 years have time machine built into them so the Mac treats it like the old school Apple time capsules

A lot of the world lives solely because of FOMO, and "but wait for the next release" is simply an illusion. Almost no choice we ever make is worth this much deliberation, and likewise, the majority of choices anyone makes are totally inconsequential to the end. If you fool yourself with illusions of looking to the horizon instead of looking at what the current situation is, you'll always be chasing a carrot.
If it were a situation of upgrading from a 2018 macbook to a 2019, you'd have an argument, but going from no M1 to M1 is a completely different league.

I think mentioning browsers, I've found Brave has become a new favorite of mine. All that I like out of Chrome but significantly faster, a better ad blocking engine than any of the extensions for Chrome, and presumably less phoning home. It's become my daily on all my devices that support it, Windows and MacOS alike.

Did not know about adding additional Touch ID! Appreciate that tip 🙌🏾 big fan of moving the doc over to the right, resizing it and getting rid of everything with the exception of Safari, chrome and premiere and photoshop. Nice work 👍🏽

Thanks! How you are adding a motion blur into your records? Is it some screen recorder FX? Thanks again!

Brilliant video. You suggested some amazing things that never occurred to me. Something that I do, that I find extremely useful, is to open a Finder window and drag key folders / locations into the Favourites area. Things I commonly access a lot, that may be hard to get to, such as Audio Plugins (Components, VST etc.), FCP projects, Ableton Live projects etc. Cheers!

Chrome has actually published an ARM64 version for the M1 and you can run galore of tabs with no issues even with 8Gb ram.

as for backing up stuff just never leave anything important on your main hard drive just attached to secondary drive keep all your important stuff on it that you can't afford to lose and. only leave stuff on the main drive that you have to have there but also keep only back ups of the stuff you can't afford to lose
