The Bloodborne version of the Moonlight Greatsword looks so damn cool. Still my favorite version of that weapon followed by the one in Elden Ring.
The two handed R2 moonlight Greatsword in Bloodborne is sickening, it is so damn good. My absolute favorite version of the weapon.
It'd be my favorite if it wasn't so outclassed by Ludwig's Holy Blade. Using physical blood gems on it is still better than all damage blood gems because the physical ones go to 27.3%, meaning that you're way better off using a physical damage weapon. And that QS bullet use is pretty dumb considering how weak the beams are. The Elden Ring one is much better.

It's weird as hell seeing the hunter use magic, not like eldritch magic but legit fantasy beams. Everytime he uses a charged attack I almost expect a mp bar to go down but there is none
I’d say Bloodborne contains a lot more themes than just the eldritch ones present later on. It’s a perfect Halloween game so I don’t see why we can’t dabble in the arcane and occult with a little moon magic since the game already has witches.

Always blows my mind how resistant they made ds1's DLC bosses to magic damage. Like for real things that deal 4 digit damage to late game bosses barely scratch kalameet and manus.
Ds3 dlc did the same thing rendering the moonlight gs useless...
I remember I made a build specially for the moonlight greatsword on one of my playthroughs. I thought it was doing mental damage until I got to friede and it did barely anything I had 60 intelligence i literally had to change my entire build on that character

In DS1’s Defense..The Power Within Shenanigans we did kinda justified magic tank bosses given how scary that ability is.
Elden Ring did good in adding a few non magic damage spells.
Damn, the 60 FPS Demon's Souls to 30 FPS Bloodborne transition hit so hard.

I legitimately cannot notice the difference between 30 and 60fps. Or if I do notice, I don't connect it to framerate in my head. The only times I notice framerate are when it drops or its unstable

Lmao everyone is different but from someone who works on this shit everyday. I can tell you most people are dramatic when it comes to frames whether up or down. I never had a problem with bloodborne, let alone its 30 fps cap. I have several monitors that go leagues and while it IS easier on the eyes. It never degraded the game(s) playability for me. Get gud.
Moonlight greatsword from bloodborne looks so much better than all other version. It's so beautiful, guiding moonlight.

Singlehandedly inspired me to do a Moonlight Great sword run in Ds2, also the Frosting on Elden Ring's MLGS is soooo nice.
Elden Ring has to be the best one yet. Though the variety of infusions for the DS2 one and the extreme use of magic damage in some cases of the DS3 and DeS ones made those sick asf too. If not for that ridiculous QS bullet use and the fact that sheer physical blood gems are still better than total damage blood gems on it in Bloodborne meaning you suffer incredibly diminished returns compared to something like the Ludwig Bitchblade, the Bloodborne one would probably be my fav.
Ds2 mlgs is my favorite! It has the best moveset and amazing scaling. Also, if you fight a magic resistant enemy you can switch to a enchanted infusion for 100% phys dmg
i like powerstancing with the fugazi blue moon greatsword as well, infuse that baby with raw.
The sword also appears in a poorly received FromSoft game called Ninja Blade, where it was a secret weapon you could unlock.
That death at 22:17.as someone who as speedrun all bosses for BB and as someone who has died to celestial emissaries, that death hurt and I know that pain

Distortion: There's no reason to do Alexander's Questline.
Also Distortion: gets the inferior Skill Damage talisman.
Your choices are to get a decent talisman from the very beginning, or get a slightly better one in the last area of the game. I think it's completely fair to kill the jar boi, he's hogging a good talisman and that's what he deserves for keeping it to himself for such a long time.

I use to beat Dark Souls 1-3 by parry only. Dark Souls 1 parrying is 100x easier than Dark Souls 2 and 3's parry timing. I just love to parry.

@@BigHailFan Yeah no, it's actually funny because lots of people don't explore- there's a key you can find which unlocks that door, and using a torch will light up the arena. It's a massive room, and lock on will no longer be broken by darkness.

Fun fact: the Moonlight Sword is also featured in a whole lot of FROM's non-Soulslike games, too. Armored Core series features the MOONLIGHT plasma blade as a very high damage melee weapon in mech combat. The King's Field games also have the Moonlight Sword, I think.

I can name six Elden Ring NPC's whose questlines don't end in their deaths: Nepheli Loux, Kenneth Haight, Gostoc, Roderika, Hewg, and Patches. Rya's quest is ambiguous if she survives her journey, but she's at least happier if you refuse to murder her before Rykard.
I'm pretty sure Hewg is supposed to canonically die.
And also Ranni doesn't die.

Moonlight Greatsword in Bloodborne is the best version in my personal opinion. I just think the two hand R2 is absolutely broken. It's so good. I was slightly disappointed by the Elden Ring Moonlight Greatsword tbh. It's good but not Bloodborne version good.
Not really tho, i find the mgs in er more satisfying to use, aside from its special L2, the basic moves of mgs in bb are inferior while the charged R2 in er is more stylish and comes out faster, frost build up is a plus, and the damage from the cone/beam is much better

Except we don’t get to use it. It would be a different story if we did. And it would be awesome if there was a mod for it, but it doesn’t seem like there is one (at least, to my knowledge). So despite it being visually-stunning & so super cool, Sekiro, unfortunately, doesn’t count. Neither does Armoured Core, and neither does King’s Field on the PlayStation, since neither one of these 3 are Souls games.

I feel bloodborne is the only souls game where the moonlight is actually OP
Nowhere near. It's heavily outclassed by the Saw Cleaver and Ludwig's Holy Blade due to how blood gems work with split damage in Bloodborne and the fact that everything is so resistant to Arcane that you literally don't notice a difference in damage between its transformed and untransformed modes. The Elden Ring one meanwhile is ridiculously strong. You get 1100+AR on it using a dedicated build. And it doesn't even require a ton of buffing either. Just use a magic flask, Alexander's Shard (affects the R2 once buffed) and another one to buff in the off hand and you're good to go. It hits harder than the literal Giant-Crusher and is twice as quick.

I used powerfull arcane gems on my moonlight sword and one shot pretty much anything, ludwigs holy blade is my second choice, best weapon in bloodborne in my opinion
In Elden Ring i have moonlight +25 and it dosent do shit to any bosses, my great long sword does more damage
its op in Elden Ring too thanks to the frostbite, lack of durability in the game, and fp flasks
@@parkout95 Using 27.3% physical gems is actually more effective in Bloodborne than using the 20% all damage gems. I've researched and tested it. The numbers are about 30AR lower, but due to the way split damage works and the fact that physical damage is the dominant damage type, you actually land bigger focusing on that, even with 70 Arcane.
Lower AR, but higher physical AR, which also more enemies are weak against. In total you'll hit an easy 60 damage higher on most enemies in my experience.
Y'know, I always knew there was a possible skip in Leyndell with all those walls with angular architecture.
here's some mlg tips for you:
if you don't run through the entire level without killing anything, you won't get ganged up on by the entire cast of Annie.

They could have the most powerful streaming equipment available, but if they're as boring as a brick, no one will want to watch that, unless they're fantastically skilled at the game. We watch for game play, we stay for the person.

Like why are you mad at bad hitboxes which exist in every Souls game when the game feels like shit to play regardless? The only reason the hitboxes are noticed is the lower s compared to other games and sometimes higher active attack frames on enemy attacks but you can just level adp and the hitbox is nonexistent because you're in . But how do you fix the controls? You can't. Even the people who vehemently defend this game against hitbox/adp/gank claims never have to defend the godawful controls because it bothers no one for some reason (until ofc they actually play the game themselves, like Distortion here.)
@@Kerrfuffle Ignoring the plethora of godawful takes you decided to throw at me that weren't related to thr topic at hand Fromsoftware literally did fix the "controls" problem that you're complaining about. The ability to free aim melee attacks while locked on exists in Elden Ring (I think it also exists in DS3 but I'm not very sure) The difference is they made it togglable in later installments
@@xryeau_1760 I never said the games after it had the issue. This thing just makes DS2 play worse than the others and it's a far worse issue for me than "omg hitboxes".
DS1/DeS didn't even have this problem so I don't get what they were trying to do with DS2, other than it was more balanced for PVP I guess.

In DS2 you could've used more (if any, I don't remember exactly) power stances heavies, so that way you don't have to worry about switching from power stances to 2h when you want those heavy attacks

I like to think the moonlight greatsword is in every fromsoft game (or close to each one) because it’s just a powerful thing, a idea that HAS to be made, like sure the sword could be destroyed if we believe all from soft are linked in some way, but like a powerful force it will always be made somehow, but never explained HOW!
Dude, I get your sentiments about the Shrine of Amana. About the only reason I managed to get through it when I MYSELF played the game was because I used straightbow AND greatbow arrows. Same with the Iron Passage, come to think of it. The Shrine of Amana is so tedious & frustrating, whether you’re playing Scholar of the First Sin or not, and I’ve played both versions.
Yep, gotta snipe everything or else it's a nightmare. Dreading going there on my SL1 character. He's got a light crossbow at least.
The way I look at alexanders death at the end of his quest is true friendship granting him the warriors death he so desires from the most powerful warrior he's ever known,.... also it gives you the more powerful talisman. Either way, I don't blame you iv also done this for pvp builds :P
