  • Motorcycle camping trip in the RAIN! Grits n Glory Moto is an all women, grassroots, motorcycle camping weekend. The past two years the event has been held at Seneca Rocks West Virginia! After riding 5+ hours in the pouring rain, through the twisty mountains to our destination, we were a bit whooped. Setting up camp in the rain is not for the faint of heart haha! BUT once we were all at camp safe, it was time to relax, catch up with friends, and enjoy the weekend on two wheels!

In response to the not having cell service, you should check out an app called CoPilot. It uses gps reception instead of cell signal which means it works even if you phone has no reception. I used it when i worked in rural areas and it's very handy to have. You can also plan out and save routes in advance and just load them up when you're ready to ride with the pro version. One of the best navigation apps hands down.

Your last note about the rain pulling the energy out this year, girl sooo true. But we’re all fighters for getting through it and still managing to have a great time together 🙌♥️ Cant wait to hang with you again!

I enjoy watching your videos. Riding seems to bring you so much joy. I have the bad habit of worrying about not looking like I know what I'm doing. I am working on that. I also enjoy riding on my own. No one there to question what I am doing or ask me to stop singing. Stay safe.

Agree with you, enjoy riding solo on long trip. More relaxing, more time to enjoy scenery. Don't have to keep watching the people you are with for a fast stop or watch them in a mirror.

Ah friends and good times .. motorcycles plus.. We had our honeymoon in Norway near the Fjords and it was one of the most unforgettable ever. Other friends on motorcycles joined us and we rented house for the month we were there, You could ride for miles and miles without seeing a single house etc or persons.. but the scenery even up on the glacier etc .. Yes we've been other places abroad too but ! Hmm well it was our honeymoon.. 😶🤣 As Jess Corbin said.' Live every moment as though it were your last, for time ticks by the minutes and soon; the hour is 'PAST'.

So glad you have become a motorcyclist who tolerates rain. Where I live, if you can't take a little rain, you will be restricted to day trips for life. Embracing the rain is the key to FREEDOM!
Glad also that you found a pile of wonderful women to be safe with. Grieving that men aren't reliably safe.
Agree re riding solo- safer, more freedom to maneuver, fewer tanks and bladders to coordinate, nobody waiting on you, and you waiting on no one. You do not risk an impulsive idiot or anxious beginner on your flank ready to chase squirrels. You can follow any wild hair without having to convince anyone. Riding with someone is like a marriage- if your rhythm and attitude and habits grind against each other, it is just a trial. Not too many people are great riding partners for a given person.

I used to travel from my military base to home not forgetting the return to base trips.. (over 450miles) all year round and through snow, sleet, heavy winds and rain which kind of sucked to say the least (I'm given to reflect, more than good old count Drac would have 😶🤣🤣) I used to stop off part way for some grub etc which meant taking off your wet gear, then having to put it all back on.. ah happy days.. 😶🙄🤣🤣 I discovered the next morning I'd often have a headache NOT as bad as a migraine but ! So eventually I took some pain relief before sleeping (even if at the time I didn't appear to need it ) and hey presto the headaches were gone. Course back in those days full face helmets weighed a ton.. (well felt like it 😶) whereas these days they're pretty lightweight. 👍Oh and we sure have pitched tents in the rain.. oh yeah.. 😶

GnG was so fun! So much rain riding getting there, but so worth it. I have yet to edit my 360° footage. 😬

Hey I saw you're a little apprehensive about riding to remote places with no cell service. Don't worry, me too! So...I bought myself a little Garmin Inreach Mini personal locator beacon which costs $20 a month and lets me text via satellite no matter where I am on the planet. I originally bought it for paragliding but I now use it on hikes, rides, everywhere I'm concerned I may get into trouble and not have cell service. Highly recommended looking into 🤘😉

Brave woman! I wouldn’t ride or camp in that much rain!

I completely agree with you, when I am traveling I would rather be alone and go to my own pace.

Great video! You are a trooper riding in so much rain. You have one of the best channels when it comes to bikes, moto camping, test rides everything motorcycles! Omg the food at the Gateway!

You’ve inspired me to make my own UA-cam channel. Only been riding since February this year. Now to learn how to edit videos properly lol. 🥰 from down under

Every trip I've ever taken to WV I've always headed to Lesage first to fill up at Hillbilly Hotdogs.
