I didn't like the Arctic Bolt at first, but it's been surprisingly useful against certain, larger enemies. It takes a lot of time to charge up to it's maximum potential, which is a bit of a pain in the ass, but the freeze effect can really help out your team. And enemies that are weak to ice take a ton of damage from it, even when it isn't fully charged. It's a situationally useful skill, just like the Ricochet one.
A tip for enhancing your gear, even though the Magick Archer needs Magick on it's weapons, the difference between Elven and Dwarven for Magick isn't that much but the Knockdown difference is MASSIVE! As you know, you do a lot more damage when an enemy is knocked down, way more than the 5% or so difference between going all Elven vs all Dwarven. As such it is actually better to use Dwarven instead as you'll not only do more damage but you'll stagger foes more often to and of course that leads to the knocked down state. As for armour enhancements, it's better to again go for Dwarven because the difference between all the smithing styles for the defensive stats is negligible but the Dwarven gains a ton of knockdown resist while only being a little behind on Magick Defense if you went with Elven for example. Now the only downside to Dwarven is getting access to it and the weight increase. There are two quests that give you access to this smithing style, you can get it as early as Bakbattahl if you grab the right quest and the weight can be negated by visiting a certain character and using a certain resource after maxing out the 3 enhancement slots.
Something else Recovery arrow doesn’t tell you it is can damage undead type enemies, if you can aim it correctly and hit a lich or zombie you can do massive damage to them
I ran CC instead of damage. The ice skills with the ice bow from the arbor (elven city) freezes everything allowing for your team to safely beat everything down. The elven armor for magick archer sold by the vendor in the arbor is the second best armor stats wise with the best armor being the end game armor sold by the dragonforged.
@IAMLEGEND091 the ice bow is called siocadh, it's for Magick archers while the repeller bow you mentioned is for regular archers. Siocadh doesn't have alot of damage but it does have the highest freeze build up in the game and paired with Magick archers ice skills you can lock everything down while your party goes bananas
The Grianmahar bow (or whatever it's called) is from the Dragon forged NPC in the cave along the beach when you follow the path northeast through the city of Bakbattahl. He only sold that stuff to me after I unlocked the endgame, though, which is really the only time you might have the 110 Wyrm blood crystal things (Wyrmlife crystals?) that it costs. I'm not sure if the NPC Moxsy mentioned sells them for anything other than those, but that's the first time I was able to buy the bow, at any rate.

@@vanlynn6559There’s a difference-i completed the story without using the sword and it brought me to the main menu and only gave me the option to start a new game. I just reverted back to my last inn save and it put me back before I started the end mission lol gonna do it right this time

Helm splitter upgraded with bbi ring would one or two spin any boss in the entire game including bbi unless they were physical immune ofc. Nothing compared to it. Then magic archer had nine fold bolt which was better than anything the 2nd one has once bbi was made dragons dogma 1 scaling went through the roof with damage.

Magick archer sucks in this game imo. Where tf are my daggers. Why can't I have any movement abilities to assist with how long it takes to move again after dropping the bow. What happened to the good augments. Honestly, this is a disgusting nerf
For weapons instead of dragonsbreath bow try the Militant Dove from the elf village. And upgrade it with them. has slightly less magick (and I mean VERY little difference) and has much more knockdown power. Upgrading with the elves increases magick on weapons wayyyyy more then with anyone else.
If you need extra knockdown power, might as well do Dwarven enhancement. The slightly less magick power drawback and slightly added weight in comparison to almost doubling your knockdown power is huge.
you really REALLY need to try out that LIfetaker arrow. it might not seem all that great at first but it takes nearly no stamina and can be spammed AND it stacks. you can shoot multiple arrows through a crowd and it damages constantly as it passes them with each arrow. it absolutely melts end game enemies and especially those with multiple targetable spots
Fun fact after you complete true ending and start NG+ the vendors DO NOT reset therefore you still will be able to buy all the endgame stuff without needing to get to the final story segment.
but isnt the dragonforged vendor at the base you have in endgame still like, offer the best gear available? cause he'd still be a guy you could only get till endgame again
@@defjam66x Nah, I haven't done the coronation quest yet and I ran into him. I actually bypassed the checkpoint by accident by heading through Guerco Cavern. The Dragonforged is just beyond that.

I disagree with that you only get the magick archer vocation with the bow in the late game. You can easily go there when you are low level. I got magick archer around level 25. On the other hand, you have to walk the whole way to the cave. And with a low level it can be quite challenging. A lot of enemies but doable.
Harshness and catalyst from the Arch Mage works here too. And the Dmg Bonus is absoloudly ill when a healer/mage gives you an elemental enchant for the weapons. And I Like it to use the Dwarf Enchants.. sure Elven gives litle bit more Magika but thats not really much more and so much more knock down is here so much better. Same Armor ... all Dwarf Enchants ,)
Followed your guide. went through the cave, found the guy, got the quest and of course a griffon appeared and killed it and now the guy is nowhere to be found. FML
I definitly would change blazefang arrow for frosthunter bolt. Frosthunter bolt keeps hiting the enemy for a good time and has even more damage than blazefang arrow plus it doesnt keep you vulnerable.

I got magik archer and warfarer same time at like level 20 something im level 67 now and still havent got blazefang arrow my loadout has been frosthunter bolt skullsplitter and flamefang for a long time raked up all skills almost but still cant get blazefang what am i doin wrong.
Bro frosthunter is amazing over blazebolt wtf are you smoking? I can hit multiple targets multiple times and a a chance to completely freeze or stun lock tanky mobs into oblivion. Flying enemies are out of the sky in mere seconds. Blazefang is ok it leaves you vulernerable and does one massive explosion that if it misses you just wasted stamina and are a sitting duck for mobs to wail on ya.

Well one is magic and one is physical. Like a magical archer isn’t going to be able to do much against a Metal Golem. But in this game, both of the have auto aim. The hybrid class are always going be stronger than the regular ones as that’s kinda the whole point but in turn, only the Arisen can be a hybrid vocation. TLDR Not invalidating, simply a magical upgrade
I hope they make vocations available at the start if you have unlocked them in a previous playthrough, as in remnant 2. I sucks not being able to use the fun ones untill you get to the last area of the game.
when you start ng+, you will choose one if the 4 starter vocations but when you get to a place where you can change your vocation, you'll have all the vocations you've previously unlocked ready to go
There are several in the game you can find by quests and in chest - Isaac the merchant is bakbathahl has a quest with a bad ending that gives you that ring but I would be careful has he will no longer be avail as a merchant.
I have the same exact problem…I can’t even find the cave in the true ending….its like the island was destroyed and he’s no longer in that area….please let me know if you find a fix
Min max wise what would be the best leveling path? In dd1 I remember 1-10 is mage and then just do sorc till max level and you switch to MA when you’re max level.
I heard thats not a thing here. When you change vocations all the stats change to that vocations stats. So only augments from the vocations matter. At least thats what i heard
Hey Moxsy, for the first time ever i have to say, your build is not very well min/maxed 😅 The stat increased for strength and magick are very minor (30 points) and you are better off using increased damage to weakspots since you auto-target them anyway and increased elemental affliction. Nonetheless great video , iam always enjoying your content 🙂👍
As good as thus playstyle is and with the composition he said I feel like he should have went above and beyond letting people know that if you're not a very attentive player you should not try it. Because you will be your teams healer. And that's a huge job if you're not great at multitasking.
With no strat and meh setup gear and party you can just face tank and staffer then kill incredibly quickly anything g except Medusa ….. warrior makes the game way too easy

@@mari-anne You can fast cast by holding the right bumper on controller and there’s a ring that increases cast speed. It takes me less than 3 seconds to cast Augural Flare. And unless you’re fighting Drakes who actually target you and force you to run around a little, there are augments and rings that diminish aggro. Sorcerers also have a crazy channeling life-leech that does true damage and can one cast a Wight (or any other that doesn’t move much).
This set up is AWFUL. Maybe the worst I've seen. The skills you use are horrible, and the recommendation for the base game bow is also inaccurate. There is a MUCH better bow in the elf town.
Blackwing bow is the 2nd best bow and it's not unlocked for purchase until after you reach the end game. The best bow in the elf town until this point is militant dove which is weaker and makes you take more damage while healing you if you aren't doing anything. His skills are fine. He's missing frosthunter and his augments are more about QoL instead of raw damage which is also fine.
@maijqp the best bow in the elf town is actually the ice bow (sicadh, I think). It allows you to freeze enemies without even using ice skills. It scales just fine, and its utility is unmatched. As for his skills: The exploding arrow is entirely unnecessary, and the remedy arrow is unnecessary if you have a mage in the party (and you always should). He absolutely needs the skill that shoots the ice berg since it's actually coded as physical damage and will allow the bow to hurt enemies that are Magick immune, not to mention it does a ton of stagger to enemies hit and will topple big enemies that are off balance. Using the ultimate skill is not recommended outside of very specific boss fights. There is no reason to have it on equipped all of the time. He should add ricochet shot and add the ice block one. Candescent orb is also a much better skill than he pretends it is. It CCs enemies by setting them on fired and has a huge AOE. I could care less about his augments. They don't make a huge difference in the end outside of the thief one and endurance one. His setup is pretty bad. If his goal was to "min/max," like he said, he did a really bad job.
@@FlashesSoccer011 ok not even close. Ice bow prevents other buffs like enemies weak to fire and the damage is like half of the other bows. Blazefang is unmatched dps against enemies weak to fire. I have taken 2 full bars off of a gore minotaur and a Griffen using the skill. The ice berg skill takes forever to charge and does less damage then frosthunter. Candecent orb sucks because not only does it fuck with lighting but it's damage is all over time with no stagger potential. Blazefang is an instant huge burst of damage that knocks down. And having martyrs bolt helps if you just want to end the fight immediately. It literally one shot the grigori for me and I didn't even use savagery extract or anything like that. It trivializes most large monsters except for the end game pillar fights because those are immune to being 1 shot. And you're reasoning for things is so ass backwards. You say blazefang is useless yet praise the ice berg skill (artic bolt btw) for its stagger potential when blazefang does the same thing. Oh and mages can't revive. Which is why he said he brought it. And if an enemy is vulnerable to ice then you should be using frosthunter because of its huge damage potential, auto targeting and only hitting the exact spot you target, and cc.

You should try making a smaller character as well. It apparently effects the game by making your stamina regen faster

Ricochet Hunter is situational but it MASSIVELY excels in that situation. I always have it on to completely nuke a whole cave full of enemies.

Well one is magic and one is physical. Like a magical archer isn’t going to be able to do much against a Metal Golem. But in this game, both of the have auto aim. The hybrid class are always going be stronger than the regular ones as that’s kinda the whole point but in turn, only the Arisen can be a hybrid vocation.

I hope they make vocations available at the start if you have unlocked them in a previous playthrough, as in remnant 2. I sucks not being able to use the fun ones untill you get to the last area of the game.
when you start ng+, you will choose one if the 4 starter vocations but when you get to a place where you can change your vocation, you'll have all the vocations you've previously unlocked ready to go
You can go the back way and get there faster without having to play through the game

There are several in the game you can find by quests and in chest - Isaac the merchant is bakbathahl has a quest with a bad ending that gives you that ring but I would be careful has he will no longer be avail as a merchant.
Can you explain how climactic arrow really works? is is based on the bowstring draw animation, or the charges inside the reticle?

Im in the true ending, and i can not found the the guy who sells the bow (he is no in his cave) or the isle 🤔
I have the same exact problem…I can’t even find the cave in the true ending….its like the island was destroyed and he’s no longer in that area….please let me know if you find a fix

Min max wise what would be the best leveling path? In dd1 I remember 1-10 is mage and then just do sorc till max level and you switch to MA when you’re max level.
I heard thats not a thing here. When you change vocations all the stats change to that vocations stats. So only augments from the vocations matter. At least thats what i heard
It doesn't swap instantly, but when you level up the stats catch up very quickly, so it doesn't really matter.
Yeah, wait until you get Warfarer and can use things like Augural Flare from sorcerer to absolutely melt bosses. . .
Hey Moxsy, for the first time ever i have to say, your build is not very well min/maxed 😅
The stat increased for strength and magick are very minor (30 points) and you are better off using increased damage to weakspots since you auto-target them anyway and increased elemental affliction. Nonetheless great video , iam always enjoying your content 🙂👍

As good as thus playstyle is and with the composition he said I feel like he should have went above and beyond letting people know that if you're not a very attentive player you should not try it. Because you will be your teams healer. And that's a huge job if you're not great at multitasking.

@@mari-anne You can fast cast by holding the right bumper on controller and there’s a ring that increases cast speed. It takes me less than 3 seconds to cast Augural Flare. And unless you’re fighting Drakes who actually target you and force you to run around a little, there are augments and rings that diminish aggro. Sorcerers also have a crazy channeling life-leech that does true damage and can one cast a Wight (or any other that doesn’t move much).
This set up is AWFUL. Maybe the worst I've seen.
The skills you use are horrible, and the recommendation for the base game bow is also inaccurate. There is a MUCH better bow in the elf town.
Blackwing bow is the 2nd best bow and it's not unlocked for purchase until after you reach the end game. The best bow in the elf town until this point is militant dove which is weaker and makes you take more damage while healing you if you aren't doing anything.
His skills are fine. He's missing frosthunter and his augments are more about QoL instead of raw damage which is also fine.
@maijqp the best bow in the elf town is actually the ice bow (sicadh, I think). It allows you to freeze enemies without even using ice skills. It scales just fine, and its utility is unmatched.
As for his skills:
The exploding arrow is entirely unnecessary, and the remedy arrow is unnecessary if you have a mage in the party (and you always should).
He absolutely needs the skill that shoots the ice berg since it's actually coded as physical damage and will allow the bow to hurt enemies that are Magick immune, not to mention it does a ton of stagger to enemies hit and will topple big enemies that are off balance.
Using the ultimate skill is not recommended outside of very specific boss fights. There is no reason to have it on equipped all of the time. He should add ricochet shot and add the ice block one. Candescent orb is also a much better skill than he pretends it is. It CCs enemies by setting them on fired and has a huge AOE.
I could care less about his augments. They don't make a huge difference in the end outside of the thief one and endurance one.
His setup is pretty bad. If his goal was to "min/max," like he said, he did a really bad job.
@@FlashesSoccer011 ok not even close. Ice bow prevents other buffs like enemies weak to fire and the damage is like half of the other bows. Blazefang is unmatched dps against enemies weak to fire. I have taken 2 full bars off of a gore minotaur and a Griffen using the skill. The ice berg skill takes forever to charge and does less damage then frosthunter. Candecent orb sucks because not only does it fuck with lighting but it's damage is all over time with no stagger potential. Blazefang is an instant huge burst of damage that knocks down. And having martyrs bolt helps if you just want to end the fight immediately. It literally one shot the grigori for me and I didn't even use savagery extract or anything like that. It trivializes most large monsters except for the end game pillar fights because those are immune to being 1 shot.
And you're reasoning for things is so ass backwards. You say blazefang is useless yet praise the ice berg skill (artic bolt btw) for its stagger potential when blazefang does the same thing. Oh and mages can't revive. Which is why he said he brought it. And if an enemy is vulnerable to ice then you should be using frosthunter because of its huge damage potential, auto targeting and only hitting the exact spot you target, and cc.
