You cancel with L2 button on PS5 look at your on screen buttons one will say cancel.... Candescont bolt is better just for hitting walls to see in the night or in a cave
Don't sleep on Sophoric bolt, can put dragons to sleep when they are casting meteron or up in the air casting lightning, also I've heard it can put medusa to sleep so you can one shot her head.
Martyrs bolt is unecessary. My set up is Frosthunter, riccochet, avalance and candlelight. Fire orb to consistently keep Griffons ablaze with a massive uptime as well as extra light during nighttime. The main point of magic archer is so time your basic attacks to get the bonus damage. You know you times it right is the bow gives of a flash when firing. I can solo drakes in about a minute without Martyrs bolt and if playing with pawns I make sure to have a warrior for knockdown. Your job is elemental ailments with the freeze from frost hunter and consistent damage. If I want to play a knockdown class I would not play magic archer. The ice block bullshit is a pain to aim, shit range and has the same knockdown as a warriors basic attack… why even bother. Instead of having to guide my fire arrow. Just chuck a big glowing orb in the middle, burning anything you want burned and focus on dps. For targeting weak points avalanche is your go to. Main rotation is frosthunter basic basic avalanche basic basic frosthunter. If in a cave, throw out a ricochet and laugh. If fighting a griffin, use candlelight then proceed to the main rotation mentioned earlier. Recast candlelight when it ends to keep griffin grounded til death.
Skills and basic attack lock on speed are directly affected by incantation casting time and benefit from rings that reduce them flame fang arrow is a great non aimed skill that will just auto track and blow up groups of enemies consider shooting the flame orb at your feet, it will just burn anything that tries to attack you and doesn’t hurt you all heal elixirs heal permanent health damage so bring them when your using martyrs bolt
Magick Archer is really considered one of the most OP classes there are. If you focus on Knockdowns and Debilitations along with frosthunter bolt you can almost constantly CC chain them. Just keep using frothunter bolt whenever it is about to run out and the other times constantly use your basic rivet attack. I've seen some comments saying that the basic attack isn't that strong, and that's completely false. I'm not sure if many people know this, but if you fully draw your bow, you get a boost in attack to the fired arrows. However, if you fully draw your bow for too long, you will loose that boost to attack as well. The best way I found to play it is to first use frosthunter bolt to try and keep bosses and monsters chained. Subsequently, just constantly basic attack and top up another frosthunter bolt if needed. Be sure to let go of the bow right when you see the flash or slightly after. If you use the smaller circle when aiming, you will reach the max number of arrows fired during that time. Even if you don't reach max number of arrows, just fire. The time taken to draw the bow is really short and i believe you can keep up higher dps that way. (Obviously, aim for weakspots) So far into the game, haven't fired Martyr's Bolt once even when fighting drakes as I don't like the sound of losing health over that damage, but you can use it if you want to. I personally use the frosthunter bolt, blazefang arrow (for crowds, do note that you can release the control early once you altered the path), arctic bolt (for if i run into golems) and recovery arrow (to revive pawns from afar if needed). *side note, having a mage pawn with the ice enchant helps with the CC chain. You obviously won't keep tough bosses chained 24/7 or anything but just run away if you need to, your attack range is so far that I doubt that you can't react to when the boss runs after you or attacks with magic.
blazefang is so useful though... it goes further then your regular attacks, you can basically snipe targets before they even move. also, i've used it to scout ahead in caves since you can turn corners with it, and it does cast some light as it travels, plus if you see an enemy just turn and hit it.
Martyrs Bolt is hands down the best skill dps wise in the game, currently I am one shotting drakes with like 60% of my HP and its been like 20 drakes whatever kind and I have not NOT 1 shotted them
One thing to note is that the sicodah ice magick bow that you can buy from the sacred arbor weapon shop, when upgraded to wyrmfire, deals as much damage as the dragon's breath that is upgraded once. It's very unlikely you can upgrade the dragon's breath to level 2, since it's going to need end game materials. Which means the Sicodah can easily carry you through to the end game as it has the same damage as the dragon's breath, while still having an inherent ice attribute on it.
Only one of the four mats for levels 2 and 3 requires endgame. I did get Eldricite from a Pawn Quest. Plenty of info out there for the others so not posting here. So nice to finally get a decent MA bow early in a DD game!
The archer and magic archer are both cracked and being slept on by lots of folks lol. Regular archer is stupid powerful by itself with proper skill usage. Edit*** after having played the magic archer a bit more and comparing it to a full master skill sorcerer - magic archer feels more lackluster than I’d like it to be sadly. 😞
how do you not have frosthunter bolt on your bar, its easily the most busted skill it has, melts everything while keeping it CCed as well. You just spam it, so good i leveled warfarer with it as well
Tbh I feel this😭 takes a bit longer to take out a dragon but after using that skill on a dragon in the volcanic area without all heal I had to restart cause I couldn’t make it to the campsite without getting one shot😭
Flamefang Arrow: as shown in the video, if you see a mob at range or you have a tank with good agro, fire Flamefang Arrow from a decent bow into the middle of the mob and they all die.
Thief definitely is tbh😮💨 my main but I’m trying magic archer since I’ve been taking down dragons more easily but enemies outside of that I’d say are easier

the way i havent got use to magick archer yet its been 2 days ☠️
On a warfarer, i run MSH, MA, and Mage. Idk what you mean when you said MA has great basic attack, when i know it hits like a wet noodle compared to other vocations.
The quested bugged for me after I gave him the flowers and went to the house I got a cutscene for a quest to escort him to the hot springs but instead of the quest marker being at camp it is saying to give him flowers again
Imma be honest pinpoint volley sucks ass. Rivet shot is the way to go. Also I wouldn’t use Artic bolt I would use Frostseeker as Frostseeker will auto track and continuously hit weak points, will very quickly apply frostbite to freeze enemies in place, and will cause little bits of stagger with every hit. It’s a good skill to cast and then while it’s hitting them cast something else.
I don't get the Martyr's Bolt. Yes, it does an insane amount of damage. But if the fight is not finished with that move - and that can happen - you are pretty much f***ed. Your really have to use it as a finisher and must be sure that it ends the fight. And even then... you need to get to a resting place with as much health as a half dead hamster. Magick archer is awesome... but the master skill is sad.
This vocation definitely going to get nerfed. The ricochet is so strong, it deletes everything in caves. I almost got our girl Ulrika killed when I was doing a mission and they got mad for getting hit too much 😂

I mean unlock ma very late in game story that i hate a lot
First enemy I fought when I equipped Magic Archer was a fucking golem lol
Avalanche and your regular basic does physical damage as well. Your normal basic does very little but avalanche is great against golems as well.
Same
you can cancel the blazefang arrow early. This will cancel the guiding part of the skill but the arrow will still hit and blowup
You can also fire it without aiming for when enemies get too close, I use it to escape when I'm out of position.
Is it better than Candescent Orb?
@@FelisImpurrator yes

The dragona breath bow is also in sale in the same place you unlock magic archer vocation, is in the shop.

It's so boring though without daggers =/
I agree! Archer is one of my favorite classes in DD2
@jordank5551 strongly disagree, the archer feels so badass compared to dd1.
I just wish archer and magic archer had a type of dodge it feels so weird playing as a only ranged class without a type of evasive move for me
@@TrayGoldenwhat are you talking about it has the most evasive defense. Sprint slide or Jump & kick off an enemy to create distance.

I'll never use Martyr's bolt personally. The class can do ridiculous damage without it and I feel that the health loss isn't worth risking death for.

Yeah the vocation is absolutely fucking insanely amazing and OP!
SMashed the end world bosses with it easily. Didnt even need my main pawn
Doing a Magic Archer/Warrior Warfarer combo
For me it is kind of my step up from DD1 Assassin's hybrid Bow/Sword combo
This vid was handy, i just started using magic archer

Lifetaking arrow is amazing at hitting some endgame bosses
Opinions on Frosthunter bolt? 😊
your tank needs the taunt rings and the roar/shield rack. This makes sure you never get aggro.
bonus, people will love your tank :) (Mine's name is TANKA)
Where do you get those?
Guys im in unmoored world,i cant find quest, how can i find magick archer quest ?
yo i 1 shot a dragon lmfao it felt so goood!
People are sleeping on sporific bolt.
how do you change your style to rivet shot? I can only do pinpoint volley...
it’s a core skill, press the heavy attack button and it should switch
@@tpemp Much help, Thanks!

Sagittale downpour can take out golems easy
Rivet shot definitely doesn’t lock in faster. And it seems from the gameplay that you’re not using the subclass correctly.
Martyrs bolt is hella OP i easily kill the dragons within 2 minutes

great just unlock at end of a game 😢
na! i’ve only did like 15% of the main stories so far and i got magick archer! you can get it super early
dragons breath needs endgame mats to enhance just FYI.
Thank you! I was wondering why I couldn't find them ❤
What’s the next best bow? That can be fully upgraded without post game mats?
@@BodyRocker9The ice bow in the Sacred Arbor is almost as strong.
the best way is to not use elven upgrades, just use Dwarven or bhatalli and then dragonforge:)

Ricochet Seeker is actually still strong outside. Literally bursted down certain dragon
Basic archer more broken ngl
Everything is broken.. gtfo
Kinda, every class/vocation is busted in a way, and all of them can absolutely shred enemies given proper build and decent level.
