Great car, huge advantage over most competitors: Both diesels already meet EU 6d regulations, very important for the future, you can buy the diesel without worrying about emissions. The chassis is great too, the 5008 did the moose test equipped with the heaviest engine with 78 km/h, that's better than most "premium" competitors.
I never expected this from Peugeot it's a huge improvement from the previous model and the interior looks like a concept car it's wrapped around you like it's hugging you! Great space except the head room in the middle row apart from that it's a great car. Well done Autogefühl for the clear and good explained and detailed reviews I approve 👍✌
The part that made me think this guy is good, the middle seats, found loads of negatives and yet flipped it and found loads of positives for it! Not for him because of his size but great for kids! That's a what a good reviewer does!
Definitely. The rear row would be difficult for tall people (>180cm tall), but if we are talking about shorter people, say for Asians, I think this would actually work.
Great review! I've had the 5008 GT for almost a year. Fantastic car. Other than a problem with a warning light appearing regarding the air pollution system, which was fixed under warranty, the car runs like new after 22,000 km. Averages 13.8 km/l, plenty of engine power, very quiet for a diesel engine. Third row has very limited practicality. Our youngest son is 13 and feels very cramped there. One point about the third row - you need to completely remove the reel that covers the boot area and leave it out of the car when 3rd row active. Cruise control is useful only on the highway when traffic is not too heavy. Otherwise it finds it difficult to properly respond when a car pushes its way from another lane into my path. Another feature you did not mention is the one keeping you in lane until you signal - makes you get into the good habit of always signaling before shifting lanes.
I think if a car is made to be silent even at high speed, it comes through in the everyday feeling of solidity in a car and the overall silence. So even if people don't reach those high speeds, the fact that the car is designed to do so silently greatly helps. Which is why German cars feel so solid at 120kmh compared to other cars which also makes one feel safer.
Dash, cabin is vehicle's most stand-out feature, it's just so nice to look and feel the togetherness of the aesthetics. Fantastic ambience as well.. a pity the functionality isn't as good as it's looks. Do like the various TFT gauge display for the driver. Peugeot really pushing the boundaries with 7-seating arrangement there. The exterior "could" be a little too unique/avant-garde but sure is distinctive in a good way. Top stuff Thomas, another informative review.
Yes, NICE! Just love your reviews. We have made this decision six months ago- 3008 or 5008. The biggest difference for us though the 7-seater option. And we love it. The interior is amazing- it just looks great. The iCockpit works perfectly smooth and is well thought through. Just getting in the car gives you a great feeling. The kids love it, too. And it just looks posh 😅 We chose the 2 Liter diesel engine with 150 hp, our model is the top-spec GT. We absolutely do not regret our decision. Great family car with very nice looks, we have definitely been turning some heads with it. (And people asking about it!)
Autogefühl we only use it for situations like taking the grandparents or friends along- to avoid having to use two cars. But having the option is very nice 😊👍 Grüße aus Bamberg!
xyxyBeautyLoverxyxy awesome car I also want the 5008 just to have that extra space in case, and the look is almost the same as the 3008. So I think definitely the 5008.
Good review again, I had to travel 2 hours as rear passenger in this one yesterday, and as you said, it's really cramped at the rear for such a big vehicle. Comfort of rear seats was below average.
Great review as always!! Best thing about this car is being a SUV and still manage to fit 3 independent seats in the middle row. I like it but being a father of four the third row is not really going to work for me mid term.
I drove one and guess what no rattle sounds anywhere. The car was dead silent. It was so silent that my younger son asked me if it was electric. That’s that. Yes the smaller petrol engine is a little bit thirsty. And about driving, this car along all the PSA vehicles is meant to be driven in a very relaxed way.
The static presentation was the appetizer :) Like Baptiste, I also can't wait to watch your review of the 508, but this time as a main course ;-) Keep the great work Thomas, thank you!
Nice review Thomas! About rattling noises I must admit that even my BMW 120d LCI isn't perfect, on some surfaces/bumpy roads you can clearly hear some noise in the cabin... and still I have to find the culprit!
The three isofix points in the second row are a big yes for me. But the seatbelt that is coming from the ceiling is a minus. Also it looks quite small in the back. I guess with three kids under 8 years old this car would work well.
Great SUV ,good looks inside/out ,good quality , and affordable for everyone.! I think Peugeot has the best affordable SUVs/ Crossovers on the market today.Good job Peugeot, great reviewas always Thomas !
the look of an SUV with the practicality of an MPV, I love it. I now drive the C4 Space Tour with the same 1.2 PureTech petrol engine. I see the 5008 as a suitable successor. Hi Thomas. I have the 5008 from 2012 but with the same interior. I usually use the second and third row for kids at 5 and 8 years when I pick up my kids and some friends. I then have the second row in a middle position which is still very fine for kids. From experience this setup really works! But I think you should not see this car as a 7 seater but a great 5 seater with flexibility if two additional had to come along... Kr Thomas from Denmark
One question regarding soft touch. Why is it important to have soft touch plastics on dashboard? It would make more sense in my opinion to have soft touch plastic on the side doors where elbows are usually placed rather than the dashboard since you hardly touch it unless to check that it’s soft touch.

I’m surprised by the low l/100km you got. I’ve driven this car as a rental around Madrid (hilly driving), and we managed to get 5.2 l/100 km, which amazed me since we had three or four people in the car with luggage.
A good car, when the seat belts are in the right position.😁 That's a detail but details could be annoying, so important to pay attention to that. 👍 Thanks for reviewing this car, now the 508 should be the next Peugeot, promising design.

In the city you can overtake also on right side. When you know that you go left on the next crossroad, there is no sense to move right. You stay on the left..
It is worth mentioning that you actually completely remove the third row seats in order to provide extra load space - which is not the case with the Mk1 5008 (the one that I have) - small point but nevertheless important I think.
if you ask me it's not true that you have no control with the steering wheel. when i sold peugeots, i drove it like i stole it every single day with the big petrol engine (165hp). And it did just fine. i like them very much with the small strearing wheel.
Autogefühl And the manufacturers won’t step in and steer people towards more sensible hatches or estates for a family of 3 or 4 because this is where they’re making their money. So someone else needs to step in I think.
When these cars 3008 and 5008 comes out I was really impressed by their design it looks really refreshing but to me they look old already :/ maybe because of all that black plastic around the car. The interior however is still gorgeous.
Thomas we are about buying a new family car and this 5008 is one of my top picks. That stange sound disturbes me a lot tho ( you are the only youtuber who managed to discover this feature...) So my 1st question: what is the source of that creepy noise? Any way to make it disappear? 2nd question: Which engine do you recommend for automatic gearbox and mixed (city/motorway) usage ?

Good and thorough review Thomas(?) thanks. I need an SUV/MPV with good boot space for a wheelchair. This ticks that box and a few others I was shortlisting this but after the review I’m a little less impressed. Some good forward thinking ideas from Peugeot but the electric steering and the high iDrive instrument cluster has me wishing Peugeot had gone on for a HUD & normal instruments instead. The binnacle looks like it consumes a large portion of the data drivers view. I’ll seek out the 3008 review. Thanks again.
You do a very good review buy I wonder how tall you are? Does the position of front seat help with rear legrooms? What are the foot pedals like? The sound system? The strength of Aircon? Thank you
Saw that but for me that is just not done. The seatbelt would either have to end up on the fabric of the seats when closing the door or have would have cloth on the seatbelt itself to stop it from rattling. You're not the only one that asks questions if the cars were ever tested. I've heard that Rolls Royce tested it's last SUV in Belgium. We Belgians know why.
Come here for a drive on our extremely well cared for roads. Sarcasm mode off. Speedcams everywhere and a massive income for the state on traffic fines. If the roads were maintained by that money I guess we would have red carpet in every street. But seriously, manufacturers advertise with millions of km of test drives. Wonder where and how?
Great review as always, thanks Thomas ! I’d love one for me and family but with all these ‘fake’ 7 seaters (3rd row is literally in the trunk and the two seats super close to the rear end of the car), is there not a safety issue for passengers #6 and #7??
Seems like it's common to french cars: not equal attention to details, some parts are very good, some are not as good. As in this case really nice extrior, nice seats, good trunk practicallity, but artifficial steering, not so informative brakes, those interior sounds....
The rattling sound may come from the picnic tables not being sufficiently latched into the back of the front seats when not in use. I recognise the sound and cursed the French automakers until I discovered it was all my own fault.
Want a not-so-flashy/in style with a lot more room version of this car go for the Citron Grand Picasso. Essentially the same car (PSA platform, same style of modern dashboard, even less buttons) without the SUV bling and with much better seatings even for 7. No so good looking but you're looking at a 7 seat family hauler no mater which of the two you select.
I don't agree about the notion that german manufacturers generally do a better job with noise in high speeds.. I have a mini countryman, it's a noise nightmare above 120km/h.... The 3008 is way more silent at the same speed
Are you not allowed to stop and check what is rattling? If its their fault it is a huge deal, but if it is your fault (if you did something with the seat belt, cover or blinds that you shouldn't) you shouldn't even mention it, let alone repeat it 10 times. ...and even if its their fault, we wouldn't mind to know what is it about.
Great review, Thomas, as ever. It's a very stylish vehicle - my only worries would be the longevity of the electrical systems - I've seen a relative's Pug scrapped at less than eight years old due to a catastrohpic electrical failure - but this may have been unlucky.
Nodge X Electrics are more of a problem with VW Group cars, PSA cars have not had any bigger problems regarding the electrics in years except (wrong) reputation.
Well, this was a 2006 PSA vehicle a relative bought new and looked after for about £20,000 and went straight to scrap. I've never owned a VW group car, so I'm not qualified to comment on their cars.
You don't need to own the cars to be able to know. There is lot of information (also disinformation) on the internet but after a while a pattern will emerge.
Yes, in terms of reliability, the JD Power surveys here in the UK tend to show Lexus, Suzuki, Honda, Skoda, Toyota and Kia towards the top, and the likes of BMW, Fiat, VW, Land Rover etc in the bottom half of the table, although Peugeot have started to score highly of late, particularly the 3008. I used to buy vehicles professionally, and the fleet managers I've worked with tended to avoid VAG cars and vans due to long-term engine and electrical faults, particularly with Diesel. Mostly the fleets I've been involved with have run Toyotas, Hyundai, Ford and Jaguar, without much of a problem other than wear and tear.
Hands down, best automotive reviewer out there. Keep up the good work 👍

Peugeot is the coolest mass car manufacturer right now. 3008, 5008 and new 508 are just stunning.

Surprised with the simpler interior they've really succeeded in removing the button clutter
the look of an SUV with the practicality of an MPV, I love it.

Hello Thomas, thanks for this long-awaited review! To stay with Peugeot, do you have plans to review the Rifter? Thanks!
Thx buddy! At the moment there are no plans for the Rifter, but we can keep this in our mind
Its called eye for details by Thomas😊. Even seat belts are mentioned👏👏.
Hey...waited for my comment?
One question regarding soft touch. Why is it important to have soft touch plastics on dashboard? It would make more sense in my opinion to have soft touch plastic on the side doors where elbows are usually placed rather than the dashboard since you hardly touch it unless to check that it’s soft touch.
Yeah you can argue that.
less prone to scratches
Exactly and they last longer. Soft touch are nice when they new. Even Audi Q5 has quite hard plastics around cabin and doors.
I would personally go with the 5008 just for the extra space of the trunk, afterall it's just slighlty longer. Kids or not i think it's just cool to have an extra space just in case.
markart157 Well said!
@@muratisik6956 thank you brother
Great review,
What I found with comfortability is how well the seat supports the area around your waist, lower back and butt. If that is well enough supported the stiffness of the seat material matters very little because the biggest problem you have on long drives is moving yourself in a temporary comfortable position that puts strain on your lower back part.
So far the only car I've driven that did that right was a Mercedes :x

You should review the Suzuki Vitara S. The diesel version you reviewed has softer suspension compared to the petrol versions and indeed the diesel is not for sale anymore, only the 1.6 petrol and the 1.4t
Just received my Peugeot 5008 GT. Had to wait 6 months for it to arrive. They, in error, didn’t fit the wood which was part of the leather package!! The grey stuff is crap. I’m 5ft 10. I just about fit in the drivers seat (2cm above my head)- with sunroof. Made for small people. The rest is good though. Focal stereo is Ok - but the laminated windows that come with it are great. Auto Lights are great. Mirror auto dimming is great. Conclusion: YOU MUST TEST DRIVE PRIOR TO PURCHASE and/or save for a Volvo xc90, or a Landy.
Much better than the Koleos and other competitors
Hi ! Thanks for this review, as usual very helpful !
There is one missing answer though: in this price range, is this the best 7 seater SUV ? Do you prefer the Kodiaq for example ?
the 5008 is one of the few SUV with 3 isofix and indépendant seats, really disappointed by Skoda that they didn’t go that way as well.
17:50 - You can still use child seats without ISOFIX - old school way
Awesome review as always, Thomas!
However, please don't crowd the left lane when the right lane is perfectly open. People clearly wanted to pass :)
that only counts for motorways, not inside the city area

It is worth mentioning that you actually completely remove the third row seats in order to provide extra load space - which is not the case with the Mk1 5008 (the one that I have) - small point but nevertheless important I think.
Indeed
Can you one day review the Alpine A110 ? It could be refreshing and even funny for you !
I have a Skoda kodiaq and I made a lot of travels with 6 adults with no problem at all.
This engine is significantly more economical when paired with the manual transmission.
Could you make a review on the new Alpine A110? 😀
We used to have a Renault Grand Scenic (7 seats) in which me and my brother used to sit on last row in the trunk. Good old times :)
Hello Thomas. Nice review once again. I want to see the new megane rs,the i30n and the cupra Ateca.
Will do!
When are you going to test the new Citroen Berlingo??
We don't have any plans for it yet
Autogefühl Cactus!!!! I have driven it and it was a very pleasant surprise!
Fun fact: after the review, Thomas grabbed a screwdriver and disassembled the entire car to hunt down the rattling sound.
True 😂
Wow, that rattling noise! Did you find out what was causing it?
Yes, check the interior part
Autogefühl What does that mean, what was it that was rattling?
In the interior part of this review, I am explaining and showing it, watch full length :-)
Autogefühl I DID watch the full review. Are you saying it was the metal seat belt clip?
if you ask me it's not true that you have no control with the steering wheel. when i sold peugeots, i drove it like i stole it every single day with the big petrol engine (165hp). And it did just fine. i like them very much with the small strearing wheel.
17:55 many child seats don't use isofix... they just fit in with seatbealts. Obviously isofix is better but to say they can't fit in at all is wrong.
5 of the last 6 videos are SUVs 😰 Hopefully the apocalypse isn’t coming just yet.

When these cars 3008 and 5008 comes out I was really impressed by their design it looks really refreshing but to me they look old already :/ maybe because of all that black plastic around the car. The interior however is still gorgeous.
But remember the diesel has a much bigger capacity and much more torque. So any less fuel economy is good.

Thanks!
You do a very good review buy I wonder how tall you are? Does the position of front seat help with rear legrooms? What are the foot pedals like? The sound system? The strength of Aircon? Thank you
Thanks! I state my height in every review
Autogefühl oh sorry missed that
Please review the 508 SW 2019 when it comes. I have the first generation and I loves it.
That noise at 39:45 WTH. For me that is something that would end the test drive. Did you figure it out what it was?
Yes see the interior part for explanation
Saw that but for me that is just not done. The seatbelt would either have to end up on the fabric of the seats when closing the door or have would have cloth on the seatbelt itself to stop it from rattling. You're not the only one that asks questions if the cars were ever tested. I've heard that Rolls Royce tested it's last SUV in Belgium. We Belgians know why.
Hehe why?
Come here for a drive on our extremely well cared for roads. Sarcasm mode off. Speedcams everywhere and a massive income for the state on traffic fines. If the roads were maintained by that money I guess we would have red carpet in every street. But seriously, manufacturers advertise with millions of km of test drives. Wonder where and how?
This problem is not unique to Peugeot. Just pay attention when putting the seatbelts back.
So if you have 2 big teenagers choose 5008 ?
Hello Thomas, have you found where the rattling noise came from? Nice car, anyway!
Yes and its in the review!
@@autogefuehl I found it, it's because of the rear seat belt which is not fixed correctly! cheers!
Great review as always, thanks Thomas ! I’d love one for me and family but with all these ‘fake’ 7 seaters (3rd row is literally in the trunk and the two seats super close to the rear end of the car), is there not a safety issue for passengers #6 and #7??
Watt was the ratling sound in the car?
All explained in the review check full length 😊
Autogefühl I check iT 😂😂 butt you did know 🤪🤪
Seems like it's common to french cars: not equal attention to details, some parts are very good, some are not as good. As in this case really nice extrior, nice seats, good trunk practicallity, but artifficial steering, not so informative brakes, those interior sounds....
Thanks fantastic review
thanks keep following us!
So cool to hear you speak in german lol
:D
Thomas peugeot 5008 or mercedes glb 7seater regarding practicality and quality???
check out the GLB here: ua-cam.com/video/SbubILiPWPI/v-deo.html
ausgezeichnet 👍🏻
Ali Tarahani Hello,good afternoon!
In terms of requests any chance of that Merc E class All Terrain 350d review? Thanks
That rattling sound really kills it for me... It's really annoying in this otherwise beautifully crafted vehicle
gotta check that the seatbelts in the rear are put back properly...
They should have name it 3008 long or xl.
Same supplier as Audi/VAG for the cupholder you claim, is that a fact or a guess? If it's true, that's an interesting piece of information!
Its true
Any chance you know who the supplier is?
It's Faurecia afaik
Autogefühl PSA owns that company
The rattling sound may come from the picnic tables not being sufficiently latched into the back of the front seats when not in use. I recognise the sound and cursed the French automakers until I discovered it was all my own fault.
I explained it in the interior part :)
The middle row is way too tight for knee room with young adults. This problem defeats the point of this car
please test the new peugeot 508 sw
we will !
Want a not-so-flashy/in style with a lot more room version of this car go for the Citron Grand Picasso. Essentially the same car (PSA platform, same style of modern dashboard, even less buttons) without the SUV bling and with much better seatings even for 7.
No so good looking but you're looking at a 7 seat family hauler no mater which of the two you select.
best thing that i can put whole bike to the back,DREAM CAR!!
I think the look fits more the 3008.
I don't agree about the notion that german manufacturers generally do a better job with noise in high speeds.. I have a mini countryman, it's a noise nightmare above 120km/h.... The 3008 is way more silent at the same speed
Mini Countryman is Austrian built by Magna Steyr :)
Are you not allowed to stop and check what is rattling? If its their fault it is a huge deal, but if it is your fault (if you did something with the seat belt, cover or blinds that you shouldn't) you shouldn't even mention it, let alone repeat it 10 times. ...and even if its their fault, we wouldn't mind to know what is it about.
it's an important aspect that they designed it in a way that it stays in a rattling position quite often if u dont pay special attention to it
Great review, Thomas, as ever.
Good review as always. I really like the seating. The rest of it is pig ugly, inside and out. The switches are absolutely awful.
thx mikey
Welche Stadt war das? Die sieht schoen aus. Tolle Kritik wie immer.
I need Vans not Suvs
Not designed for tall drivers.
