I started watching both of you from the time you guys travelled to Thailand, because I wanted to know more about Thailand before I travelled there myself. I'm originally from Kolkata (Born and was brought up) but been living in Edinburgh UK for over 18 years now. I love my home city but unfortunately Kolkata and the state of west Bengal is one of the most undeveloped state of India and destroyed by the corrupted politicians. After watching your videos on Thailand, I travelled there for the first time. I was blown away by the level of infrastructure and services they have in Thailand.. Thailand has taken it's tourism to another level for sure. Unfortunately my beloved country India is at least 50 to 80 years behind Thailand when it comes to tourism. Not only India, I have travelled ofcourse UK, Europe's many parts, USA and many other places but I think all of these countries are wayyyyyy behind Thailand.
Just a heads up. The city of Kolkata didn't existed before British colonised India. There were 3 villages Shutanoti, Gobindopur and Kolkata. British joined all 3 of them to make a city called Kolkata. British made it the capital city of India. So Delhi was not the capital during British Raj but it was Kolkata, thanks to the betrayal nature of Bengalis who only liked working as a middleman for the British and betraying their own country. Bengalis worked as middleman when Mughals invaded India, then British and after that Marwaries. That's why West Bengal and Bengalis has lost their own culture and traditions completely.
But West Bengal has a huge potential. It is wealth of Nature. Up north east you will get the Himalayas, there are ocean and wonderful beaches on south east of the sate, then there are mind blowing forests and safaris where you can spot the famous Bengal Tigers. West Bengal is so big that half of Europe can easily fit inside this one state of India.

@@OTWD_ytBut do try the traditional Bengali cuisine while you are in Kolkata and not just street food. There is a very authentic Bengali restaurant called 6 Ballyguange Place. The name is the same as the address of the place. It is slightly pricy but worth having a meal there. Some very traditional Bengali dishes are Elish Paturi or Bhetki Paturi, Ampora shorbot, Dab chingri, mutton kosha etc... You will not find this kind of Bengali dishes anywhere in any Indian restaurant in the world, definitely not in UK. However, there is slight similarity between traditional Bengali cuisine and Thai Cuisine because west Bengal is so close to Thailand, only 2 and half hours flight from Kolkata to Bangkok.
Have you gone to Darjeeling.. It feels so cool out there during hot summer!!

It’s nice that you are visiting Kolkata. Please do eat the street food in the city and of course the famous sweets. Eastern and North Eastern India are very beautiful. Every state and region in India is unique in their own way. If you have time you may visit northeast india…..the weather would be moderate and nice there or can go down south following the east coast that is Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu etc. , though it would be very hot and humid these days.

If doing Executive Class in Vande Bharat Train, dont forget to have a daylight journey, reason, You can turn the seats 180 degree, you can even make both seats window facing by turning the seat 45degree to 90degree. There is a lever behind the seat, once pushed seat rotation can be experienced, the food tray is inside your arm rest, so it doesnt matter which direction you facing. The whole experience of that is if both seats can look outside through a single large glass. Best done in monsoon season or while traveling hilly region like Mumbai to Pune etc, to get that once in a lifetime experience of scenery and lush greenery, waterfalls everywhere.

Oh God you poor guys were having cold showers. Yes, its called geyser in India. They don't have hot water cylinders in India. I wonder why. I had to get my head around with that when I moved overseas as well. I wondered for a long time how they have 24 hours hot water available lol But at least now you know

@@OTWD_yt Be careful with that. A fellow British UA-camr pointed out and I also feel most people who get sick in India is due to hot and cold mix. Primarily as the aircons are so cranked up usually. Thats why a lot dont drink ice water either or less ice.
