You must be the first couple outside India who have ridden & vlogged the underwater section of this line (as the previous videos I've seen on this line were done either by locals of Kolkata or other Indians). Nice video & I hope to ride this myself when I next visit Kolkata (I was born in & grew up in England but the majority of my family's from Kolkata) - although I have ridden the bit through Salt Lake which was already open from 2020. And the first line you rode before the new line is the oldest metro/underground railway line in India.

Kolkata city infrastructures development and its metro networks construction works are so sluggish. Its a dead city due to party and politics and carelessness and marxism. Being a Kolkatan I left my city 11 years ago. I have been seeing Kolkata metro networks construction progress for last 35 years. Its too slow. It will never be completed even after 25 years I will become 60 years then also nothing much will happen. This city hasnt been expanded area wise like Delhi or Mumbai or Bangalore. This city’s lifestyle and traffic systems are too slow and backward. This city cant compete with other Indian metro cities. I have pledged myself that I will never come back to Kolkata until all metro projects are completed and this city has been changed a lot. This city needs to expand and make it bigger.
Kolkata metro is part of the Indian railway, on the other hand Mumbai metro joint venture with reliance and dehli is with DMRC. So there must be some operational differences. There is no control of the local state government on this, brother being a Kolkata person you must know this 😂. Thank you

This underwater Metro/ Tube had its concept way back during the British Raj. In 1928-29, the British made feasibility studies to introduce "The London Tube" for the then Imperial Capital Kolkata. But Britain and entire world was suffering something called "Great Depression". This in turn led to a fund crunch and the plan was held back. Later on, the war clouds started gathering on the European continent and the plan was held on indefinitely. After Independence, the North-South Corridor opened 50 years after the conceptual plan in 1984.

You can board the yellow Ambassador taxis but they charge high and seeing foreigners they will go higher....so better to use app cabs....Ola, Uber, Yatri Sathi, inDrive, SanapEcab, etc are app cab companies and you can also use Rapido bike taxi, but only one can board the bike and you will have to put on the helmet that has been on hundreds of people's head.

If you have 5 to 6 days extra time visit Darjeeling, Himalayas and Dooars region of West-bengal. All of these places are in West-bengal state of India. Try to explore. It is like mini India. Its available over the counter, without the need of a doctor's prescription. 2 tablets should be enough, but they should be taken 1 at a time, with a gap of few hours in between. You can board the yellow Ambassador taxis but they charge high and seeing foreigners they will go higher....so better to use app cabs....Ola, Uber, Yatri Sathi, inDrive, SanapEcab, etc are app cab companies and you can also use Rapido bike taxi, but only one can board the bike and you will have to put on the helmet that has been on hundreds of people's head.

these are 3 to 4 hours from Kolkata
all are beaches.
for Digha bus services are available.
Rest of the places are accessable with cabs.
or you can go to Sundarban, the largest mangroove forest in the world having diatance of 2 to 3 hours from Kolkata.
If you have 5 to 6 days extra time visit Darjeeling, Himalayas and Dooars region of West-bengal.
