Guys, I reckon this is the best "Coffee" yet. So candid and intimate, some great insights and genuine responses and reactions. Love that you left the camera "complications" in. Sounds like exciting times ahead. Cant wait for more. Thank you.
Good luck with the winter hikes they are often the most rewarding and the light can be just beautiful. Probably the best thing to bring is a thermos of hot coffee and one of those insulated sit pads for the summit.
Hi folks. Just to say I have several pairs of Craghoppers trousers, both for proper hillwalking in all weathers and just casual use; and I can honestly say Craghoppers gear is terrific value in my experience. I also recommend their fleeces, which again I have several of, and they wear very well. I will be interested to to get your take on the jackets when they have had some proper winter walking, as I have an "Aquadry" jacket but only wear it walking locally and it has never had a really severe test up a mountain. I have a Berghaus for three seasons and an old Helly Hansen boarding jacket for Winter that I should have binned long ago, but I love it so much and never found another one that fitted so well and was as functional ! Cool that Craghoppers they use so much recycled plastic in their gear too. Great chat again. You can't beat a real fire in the Winter :)
Thanks for the great comment James! Delighted you’ve had such good experiences with Craghoppers gear too ☺️ and yes I was also impressed by the amount of recycled materials they’re now using. We’ll be sure to let you know how they weather this winter. I can understand how you’ve not let go of you HH jacket, I’ve heard they’re amazing for wet gear. And I think the fire place is both our favourite spot in the whole house, I can see us spending a lot of time there the next few months!
Tips for Winter hillwalking : I always have a spare pair of gloves in case one gets soaked. Also a spare hat and a pair of old ski mittens, which are a must, especially if you are gloves on and off all the time with the camera, as I usually am when I am up in the snow. Also sunglasses and goggles. Maybe the goggles aren't so applicable in Ireland as here in Scotland, but definitely polarising sunglasses. Obviously suncream as in Summer, but lipsalve as well. Hope that helps!
Ooooh the mittens for using the camera is a fantastic idea! Last winter I was annoying myself so much pulling on and off the one glove 😅 definitely holding onto that one! And yes the lip balm is something that I find essential. Thanks! ☺️
@@ToughSoles if you can get the mittens with built-in wrist loops they are the perfect solution, as it minimises messing about stuffing them in pockets if it is very windy, with no risk of them blowing away....not funny I can tell you .....and also minimises the amount of time your hands are exposed in very cold conditions!
See I used to want to go on hikes with you two, but that JRR Tolkein comment now makes me nervous that when the camera isn't running you're both singing non-stop...
Great vid ❤. I’ve recently been following a uk based UA-camr called @wildbeare who hikes and wild camps in the most terrible weather , not that ye need any tips but they’re really good videos too , might be worth a look 😊

Ah thank you so much! I’m also very excited for the months ahead ☺️
