You did a great job with this! You’re no slacker! I’ve only hiked the Kerry and am coming back to repeat this summer. It was great to see the familiar trail. Congrats on completing it.

That's a lovely thing to look forward to. Am doing a lot more walking than running these days, but enjoy it

Great video.....obviously,youu are very fit!! We went on the Kerry Way at Coad, overlooking Derrynane and trekked into Caherdaniel....great scenery. From there we went on the K.W towards Sneem. This whole area is like a nature reserve for bees, butterflies, frogs, birds and even sheep

It was a great adventure and I particularly remember the changing country smells from the oaks to the bog myrtle. Always meant to go back to race but got a puppy instead 😂 and fitness diminished. No regrets

Thanks Rob, yes I took plenty of video "rests" ;-) the trail was nice but what video can't show is how great the people were too! Take it you're thinking of doing it? I see you're no stranger to Scotland - enjoyed your East H Way video was going to do that as a first attempt at long distance camping trip with young dog but went for Affric/Kintail way instead as easier option

@@endorphins479 Yes we are looking at doing this trail, looks quite magical, reminds us of the WHW - I am Scottish, back in 83 I used to run for Clydesdale Harriers - we used to run the WHW back then - looking forward to rest of your videos...Rob

@@T.robPrairie went through outlook/kenaston on 15 so not too far away. Was a kind of coast to coast trip but started in san francisco and pedalled around washington/BC a lot, and nova scotia/newfoundland at end (cheated with boat there tho!)

Thanks so much for this. Not a question if I am going to run this now but when. Someone I know is running it now, but I would prefer it the way you did it. Very divine. If you are ever out of trails... the Brabant Vennenpad in the south of the Netherlands is a nice one. Very flat though...

hi there, Thanks so much for posting your videos on the Kerry way. I am hoping to take a similar trip but have been confused by how to move my spare (dry) gear, food for each day and dry clothes, etc etc. Could you share how you approached this?

You're welcome! I've always taken a dry-bag stuffed with a shirt, tshirt, fleece & trousers that I will only wear for evenings and only after a shower! Because kerry way isn't wild you're always passing through a town to resupply on the go (eg grabbing lunch at cookie monster cafe, or restocking snacks at all overnight spots on arrival), just need to plan to do that which it sounds like ur doing. Wrt running gear I took travel wash and soak it in that whilst having evening meal, then rinse and dry (eg sleepy camel hostel had washing line or driers). I've had to put on dampish stuff before but as its clean I don't have a problem with that it would be damp with sweat within 10mins anyway! Hope that helps

Great video and a cool way to extract some knowledge of this before the race in September. Keep up the good work. I’ve subscribed so I can see more. Checkout my vlogs, which are a bit more northernly!
