Damn you can flush the 2 iron. Not sure if you filmed this before you picked up the 3, but can’t imagine seeing that 2 replaced. I only carry a 4. I had a round over a month ago when I flushed it both times it came out of the bag. Still lingers in my mind and can bring a smile to my face.

Your statement at the end of the video is very thought provoking. I constantly have to keep my tantrums on the course under control. Sometimes, I’m not successful. I think, now, I’m not always successful is because I’m trying to treat the symptoms, not the disease. I need to identify why I feel it necessary to make golf the only thing in my life where I expect perfection. Thanks for the free therapy session.

Hey playa I wanted to comment and say I am officially 3 strokes away from breaking 100. I have been using your method and its WORKING. I hit six iron off of every tee. When I am in the rough I hit to the fairway not the whole. I have been trying to two put. I also have been playing from the second tees instead of the blues because I am not a Blue tee playa. Thanks for the great outlook brother!

The positive I can take out of my round is once these swing changes settle and I can drop the extra 10 to 15 shots my swing Inconsistencies are causing me I will be around or under 80

    Matt…..4 or 5 items:
    1) your swing is picking up more and more elements of a Stack and Tilt swing. Love it.
    2) where is the driving iron from your unboxing video? You didn’t reference it and I thought it was a 3 iron but I may be mistaken and I was pretty loaded when I watched the unboxing video
    3) I am always impressed by your ability to either make par or have a good putt for par after a wayward/scabby drive
    4) your final message in the ending notes…’be yourself, it is all you can be’ reminds me of the unknown quote (often attributed to Oscar Wilde) “Be yourself; everyone else is already taken”.
Great video, you have been off UA-cam for too long.

Mr miyagi of golf, I was the same I used to have a complete meltdown on the golf course, always a par 3 I would start shanking off the tee and that would be the down fall of my round I would stoop too low with my shorter irons/wedges causing me to come over the top and shank, found out what I was doing the fixed it completely now I'm enjoying my golf so much better, I need to realise I'm not a pro, I'm out there to enjoy myself and improve. Yesterday I shot my lowest score shooting 3 over par (I'm a 9 handicapper) it's put me in a good most for the rest of the weekend

This past weekend, I planned on breaking 90 for the first time and I planned out every hole and every shot beforehand. Stuck to my plan and ... SHOT 81!! best part of it is, I had like 3 3-putts in holes that I should have scored a par so sub-80 was a definite possibility!
Anyone wondering how I planned for breaking 90, here are my pointers:
    - find one reliable/fairway finder club off the tee for par 4s and 5s that goes 190-210 yds consistently (3W and 3H for me)
    - plan out each hole (club choice and before you ever step on the course.
    - based on stroke index of each hole, give yourself par+2 for S.I. 1, 2, and 3, par+1 for all other holes except S.I. 15, 16, 17 , 18 where you should aim to shoot par.
Thanks for your videos and advice Matt! really helped my golf game improve over the last year

@@tedzink4574 thanks! It helps soo much to change the way you think about your shot and course management. Most people want the hero shot (which almost never works out at my level) but I prefer a lower score. Pitch outs and layups and getting the ball on the green in 1 when pitching/chipping/bunker shots is what lowers your score in this game.

I just moved to Austria from the USA. Golf is so differrennt now. More expensive and more elitist. I had to join a club to play, which is simply the way it is done here. Daily green fees are outrageous. The course I joined is where the Austrian Open of the European Tour is played. It is, needless to say, a difficult course and my handicap has soared. Due to your sage advice in your videos my scores are starting to drop. In the beginning I got angry at the course for being so difficult, but learned to alter my game to suit the course (e.g. tee off with 5-wood instead of driver, or lay up and accept the inevitable bogie instead of going for the green and ending up with a triple bogie). I am having fun again now that I have made the adjustments.

I hate the dope that pops in at the last minute before you make your swing😁. I've also been working on the side bend through impact a lot of half swings to ingrain it

Licensed therapist here. Acceptance is the key in golf as in life. It's important to reduce our "musterbation". Living in the musts, shoulds, have tos, need tos in our relationships with ourselves, others and the course is was causes distress. Living with lack of acceptance is living outside the fullness of reality. Telling yourself how stupid you are for choosing the wrong club AGAIN is outside of the fullness of reality that is our imperfect humanity. Saying "I should have known better" REALLY means "I must be perfect." "I need to make this putt to break 80" leads to a very different emotional and behavioral consequence than "Man, I'd love to make this putt, but either way, its been a great time."
