- I'm ashamed to admit that, as a nearly 40 year old man, my dry eye syndrome hasn't been a problem lately. It makes things awkard at work though, so I've been taking more bathroom breaks and blaming allergies.
Update: I just checked on her at lights out time. It might be a large poop, but she just pushed something down to the end of her cloaca! I'm praying to God that she passes it and that it's an egg!
Fingers crossed for her!!!

Unfortunately, this requires them to be anesthetized. For snakes, and reptiles in general, anesthesia carries an increased risk of death. Don't quote me on it, but I believe you have a 50/50 chance of walking out of a vet with a reptile that passed away from anesthesia but made it through the surgery just fine.
Snake Discovery lost a Boa to anesthesia not too long ago. Generally, unless it's a life-threatening condition, surgery on reptiles is to be avoided. In Alys' case, she had a history of egg binding, but she'd always passed them in the end. Infertile eggs are harder to pass than fertile ones, so I have no idea why she failed to pass these fertile eggs when, in previous years, all her eggs had been harder, infertile eggs.

You're a strong girl, Alys. Please pass your eggs. You never have to have eggs again if you don't want to. Just get rid of these ones please and build your strength back up so you can bask in peace once more.
