- Come join me as I give a review of the AegisMax Ultralight Sleeping Bag. Is this bag worth the just under $100 price tag, or is it a bust? I go over the specs of the bag, and after many nights of testing the bag, including pushing it to its described lower limit, I give my final thoughts on the uses of this piece of equipment and whether I would recommend this to my subscribers.

I have the same down bag. I use it inside my 30 degree Wal-Mart bag you do sleep warm. Love it.
It is an outstanding piece of equipment. I use from mid spring until late fall and have never had an issue. Thanks for watching and commenting!
The AEGSMAX sleeping bag is also one that I use, and it has excellent cost performance! 😊
Yes, it is a great 3 season bag. Thanks for watching amd commenting!
Solid review on the Aegis Max bag! I love mine. I feel like the rating is spot on for most people. I've had it down to 30° using a fleece bag liner, and slept very comfortably.
Yeah, I feel the rating is pretty spot on for what the company says, which is refreshing. I'll be pushing the bag down to around 35-37 F this weekend on a trip. Friday is showing 38 F in the nearby town where I'll be but I'll be higher in elevation and in the woods on a ridge so I may see near freezing. I have a light weight bag liner so we'll see if I get cold. I like to test gear to it's limits so I can show with the community. Thanks for commenting. Looking forward to hearing from you again.
Good review. I got one of these a few years back and have been very happy with it. It is a great bag for summer or early fall when temperatures don't get to cold. I've used it in 40 degrees and was warm. It is a good quality product for the price.
Hey, thanks for watching the video! It's nice to get comments affirming the review I posted. I agree, for the price, this is an awesome bag. I've enjoyed using it and plan to for years to come as long as it holds up. Thanks for commenting, and I'm glad you liked the video.
Really good review. I've had this bag for about 4 years and really like it. It's a great bargain. I use it more like a quilt than a sleeping bag. The weight fits in well with my ongoing effort to keep my base weight down. When it gets cold I switch to a Mountain Hardware down bag which weights a pound more but I've had it down below freezing and kept warm.
I tend to use the bag more as a quilt as well. I push this down to around and below that I use better suited bags for colder weather. I'm glad you liked the review. Thanks for watching and commenting.
great review.
thanx!
I'm glad you liked the review! Thanks for watching and commenting. More to come in the future.
Loved yer review bud.
Thank you for watching and commenting! I hope you found the review informative and helpful.
Awesome review! I may have to look at this bag. Is this the bag you had when you were in Indiana? I noticed it it then...thanks for the review.
Yes, it is the sleeping bag I had when I was solo in the Charles C.Deam wilderness. I have really enjoyed using and testing this bag. If you do get one, I hope it works well for you tanks for watching and for the comment.
they state shell is made from some waterproof material..isnt it like sleeping covered inplastic sheet?
Per Amazon's website, it states they cover the bag with a water resistant coating. The bag is not waterproof and definitely does not feel like a plastic bag. It is very breathable and comfortable. I have slept in the bag at 80 F and was fine. I hope that answers any concerns you have. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. Thanks for watching!
Hello, I am looking for a light weight budget friendly bag. Do you still use this bag? Do you have another recommendation?
I'm am still using this bag primarily as a 3 season bag. I use it if the temps are above 40 degrees F. This is the only 3 season bag I own at the moment as I like this one well enough that I've not looked for another. If I do aquire another one I'll let you know but I do recommend this bag for temps over 45. Thanks for watching. If you have any other questions feel free to ask!
@@LivingTheGrandAdventure hello, thanks for your prompt response. I actually ordered it. The black large was $128. My current 3 season bag is a 40 degree Ozark Trails bag. It is synthetic and weighs 2.70 lbs. I will be shaving 1.4 lbs.
I hope you like the bag as much I do. Good luck and have a great time out there!
@@LivingTheGrandAdventure It arrived the other day. I used it last night on the floor for awhile. Definitely a warm bag. I am concerned about the zipper. Any issues with the zipper?
I've not had an issue with the zipper. It works for me and is quite smooth.
I’m about 6’1 about 230 I’d assume this one would work. Wish it had a zipper at the feet in case your feet get hot
I agree that a zippered foot box would be great, but for the cost and weight I'm okay with a little sacrifice. Lol. I am 5'8" 200 lbs and it's comfortable for me.
Zooovelives ultralight backpacking down sleeping bag can work for ya. It has a zipper at the feet.
I can't attest to that bag, as I don't own it. A zipper foot box would be a great option. I did notice that the bag you spoke of is at least 10 oz heavier than the aegix max. It's an option as to whether you want a foot box that zips open but heavier or a bag that is lighter. Personal preference, I suppose.
