@@HooverLux the answer was NO.. had air con on for 4 hours straight. 25 degrees down to 16 degrees. No water in machine, perfect! Best machine ever
Well that’s a very helpful video for me because in this hot weather at the moment although that might not last too long the summers in the United Kingdom are getting hotter . So I’m either going to stick with the pro breeze 12,000 all the 9000 obviously in your video you said it’s an excellent air-conditioner that’s all I’ll be using it for .

You’re very welcome, it’s been a life saver in the studio.
If you can get the exhaust port from the back of the machine as close to the exit area as possible. I have one of these in my work space and that exhaust hose during air conditioning setting gets pretty hot. This depletes the cold air in the room by hot radiant heat coming off the hose.
I will be interested to see how it performs in summer as the workshop get really hot in there, I’m sure it will help a lot and also dehumidify during the nights and cool during the day.
@@HooverLux I know you want like me saying this but in this case its a good thing. The shorter the hose (vent) the better it works. Lol 😂

Hey @HooverLux, thanks for this video, 2 years on and there still aren't any reviews out there that are helpful. Can you tell me if the smart functionality works with setting the temperature i.e. can you ask Alexa or Google to set a specific temperature or is it limited to on and off only? Thank you.
My Alexa will turn it on and off, but I’ve never tried to use it on a setting. I just use the app n
Just tested my unit. Yeah it works. I can tell my Google to set it to a specific number and it understands.
@@reaper-ce1jx that’s fantastic! Glad you got it up and running. I don’t generally change the temp settings much to be honest. I have it on max heat overnight during the winter and dry for summer and cool when I’m in the workshop during hot days.

Too bad you have having issues with condensation. When you said units with an indoor and outdoor unit did you mean a mini split? We have do it yourself mini split systems here in the States and my co worker's son has put them in his vacation home and his main home to supplement his central air. The do it yourself kits come pre charged and you have to mount a unit inside and have the unit outside. Those units drain to the outside automatically.
I had to take so much into consideration before getting this unit and the cons do outweigh the pros, the workshop needs a proper 20,000 btu unit wall mounted with outdoor unit too, but we’re having aircon installed in the house and as the garage is detached from the house would not be able to run off the same unit as the house, so cost was a huge factor. Since I made the video the unit has been amazing and keeps the workshop at around 15c which is just perfect for me to work in during winter, so I’m glad with that. Maybe next year I can afford to have the proper unit installed, but summer will be the next obstacle to see how it keeps the workshop cool.
@@HooverLux Sounds like you have a plan in mind then. Having the portable around after the upgrade could be handy or sell it.
Yes, If i do eventually get a permanent one installed in the workshop, this would be then good for the rooms of the house that won’t have aircon.
Why have you got the pipe on for heating you don't need it, Can you make a follow-up video?

Because it blows out the cold air, it’s just cooling in reverse, so you need the exhaust pipe fitted for every use except fan.

You might consider some duct insulation over that exhaust hose and sealing it. Additionally if you could bodge together some sort of box and hose to the outdoors for the lower intake you could dramatically improve it's efficiency (let cardboard and duct tape be your friend). If you go this route be sure to insulate your intake duct as well.

There are some portable a/c units that have 2 ducts - intake/outtake to outside, = similar efficiency to a spilt system
Has anyone done a video on what they’re like as a air-conditioning unit to cool down the room I have one from B&Q that will soon need replacing or sell it on
It’s hard to tell, it definitely cools the studio down by 8°c compared to the outside temp. Even though I’ve insulated the garage roof and the garage doors, it cools the garage down, but not as good as the house ones of course, but still gets rid of the humidity in there nicely.
What pipe did you use for the bottom of the BTU Drain? I cant find one that fits
Ah right, now I used a piece of Hoselock hose pipe, it wouldn’t fit, so I put the end inch in a cup of really hot water, left it in there for about 30 seconds to one minute to go soft and then pushed it on, that was the easiest way and is sealed completely tight. Hope that helps, let me know how you get in mate.

Thanks for the video! I was looking for an air con unit that also has a head function for a garage that has been converted to a snooker room.
Winter it can get chilly in there and summer quite hot.
Was hoping this would be the one but it seems not as I can’t have condensation dripping everywhere!
I use electric wall heaters at the moment during the winter but they use A LOT of energy! So need a better solution for that (maybe a storage heater).
Have you found an alternate to this ProBreeze machine at all?

Hi Darren, since the video I’ve had the workshop roof inside completely insulated and 60% mezzanine installed, garage doors are also now insulated on the inside and completely draft proof. The exhaust pipe is fitted through the garage door for complete exhaust of air. So far I’ve had zero condensation on the pipes, but at the moment I’m either using it as cold or dehumidifier. I won’t be able to tell if this will not condensate until winter and I turn it on to heat mode. Only time will tell.
@@HooverLux thanks for the reply! As far as the cooling side of it goes, is it worth it? I mean, based on the running cost and purchase cost etc? Is it the type of thing you could turn on for say an hour before going into a room to cool it down, or is it more something that needs to be running for a prolonged duration?
It’s absolutely worth it, my space is a standard double garage. I’ve been running it on dehumidifier mode which really cools the space and also uses far less energy than in full Aircon mode. I turn it off during the night and have it in dehumidify during the day or if it’s exceptionally hot I will run it on Aircon for an hour or so and turn it back to dehumidify. I’m in there working everyday, so I’m near it all the time. I’m so glad I bought it honestly.

Well, it’s not opened that much to be honest and I will have the other to use as the main door. If I do need to open it the hose attached to the door panel can easily just come off as it’s attached to the window kit
