I’m 47 and started running at the age of 33. For many years I didn’t stretch, weight train or do any dynamic exercises. I started adding in all three throughout the week and my running has been feeling the way it use to. I gave up some weekly mileage for the added workouts and my trail runs are reaping the benefits!!! Keep it going DGR!!!!
Happy to see you made a video with doing core! I just finished with college running and core was definitely something I lacked in, I am just getting back to running after a few months off and I have been working on core a lot more as I plan on doing half marathons and little small town races. Having a strong core really makes a difference in those long runs and helps you feel smoother.
QD: He’ll yeah, I do them at the end of my strength workouts and plyo workouts so 5 times a week, your abs hurt at first but they adapt, I have a list of movements to choose from and I choose 4, I’ll try and work the 3 sections of the abs and also 1 that works the glutes, I’ll do each for 45 seconds and do the circuit 3 times, take a 15 second rest between circuits 👍🏽
Thank you so much for all the very essential warm-ups and strengthening workouts, they are all very useful Seth.🙏🏼 And you doing it at the track and field is more awesome! Dgr strong! Onward and upward!😘❤💪🏼😎
QOD: I try to do a five minute core circuit at least twice a week or every other day. Makes a huge difference for me and I can always tell when I’m slacking on core work.
QOD: (loving these recent warm up/cool down/core videos). I add one core exercise a day at the end of strength training, side planks, v-ups, twists, toes to bar (or knee ups), crunches.
Most definitely! 2020 Prehab is also a great video from which I pick a few things daily. Seems that when Ibstop doing core work, I get injured with a few weeks as I add mileage. So committed to keeping it up… even 5 mins is waking everything up! Love the short vide! Keeping that life balance 🎉🎉
I’m loving the new content about drills and strength workouts. If I may give a bit of advice I would say it would be great do have your voice explaining the drills. Congrats for sharing and for the care.
QD: I started incorporating strength training into my running routine several years ago. I kept getting little injuries and was unable to increase my mileage until I started doing so! It’s made a huge difference. Even doing 10 minutes once or twice a week is better than nothing. I try to do one day of full body with weights/bands, and another day for an area that needs extra work, like ankles, glute medius, hips, etc..
I do now, it's this one 😂 I struggle to stay consistent with core strengthening, but five minutes is such a basic and easy amount of time to carve out of any day.
Definitely need to do more core. Chopping a lot of firewood does wonders, but in my younger years a few times a week of core was always in my diet. Thanks for comment of day yesterday. Some of dynamic stuff I do is plyometrics and it's amazing how just building power a little can make you so much faster.
These follow-along videos are great, Seth! I love that you label the workouts as "Building the Runner" - it's so apt! I have a question: while you're on your UA-cam "sabbatical", would you still be publishing a full-quality video every now and then? Because I find your words and insights while talking to us very helpful - they are, for me, the cream of your videos. This is not a complaint, just being greedy you know, haha! Fantastic content, and I cannot thank you enough! :)
QD: I do, but sporadically! I wish I’d been doing this sort of thing much more regularly over the years. Now THIS is exactly what I love about the channel - keep this sort of material coming!
I very rarely do any stretch or strength... but I need to. I'm slowing down my pace (gaining 10lbs after being out of routine from having shoulder surgery) the weight is really slowing me down.

I'm building my running up again and intend to add these to the effort.

GREETINGS FROM PHILLIPINES 🇵🇭

QOD: I've started to add a 60s plank into my training, so this video is super helpful. Thank you Seth & DGR.
Excellent to hear Jesse, excellent

COMMENT OF THE DAY!!!
@@SethJamesDeMoor wuhoo! After two years of watching - this is equivalent to qualifying for Boston! 🤣😂

Absolutely Awesome I definitely adding this routine to my other core exercises to help with my back issue and I just love the Shoes, Salomon UG’s
best core exercise plus inverse planks FTW!
Since I had a hernia I have to do them almost every day to stay healthy. I hope that I can start running again soon!

But if you watch the entire video, it's pretty simple to understand.
QD: Sure do, corework and other strength training twice a week!
I'm loving these videos, I just used the dynamic warmup video before my run and now I'm going to do this one

Yes! I love the insanity and the insanity asylum volume 1 and 2 an routines. As well as the back to core. His routines are great for runners!
I tend to skip strenght work as I find it boring however i try to do a 5-8min core w/o 3 times a week and it sure does a huge difference 👍

Thanks Seth! Nice routine! But more importantly, when is that baby girl coming???? 👶🏻🍼💕😘
Yes seth not always but before a big race a few months worth about 10-15 mins makes a huge difference in strength. 😁 a great video cheers bro

Excellent! Thanks for baring with me through this sabbatical time : )
Finally a planking video without the promise to turn me into Arnold Schwarzenegger in two weeks!
: )

We need to see those Micheal B Jordan like abs after, don't be shy😅
Review the craft pro endur distance pls
You're cheeting Seth, but I like this short videos very much.
Thanks a lot!!! =;))
yes but not consistently. Need to be more disciplined in doing core and strengthening exercises. I will do these planks. Thanks.
Baby girl 👧?
