@@beatledad Never saw them with Mark Farner! Probably the best time I saw them was at a local festival with Bobby Kimball of Toto, who flew in specifically for the show. As it happened, original Toto bassist David Hungate was also there working with another artist. He came over and joined in for a few numbers. Unexpected and awesome! And I met Bobby after the show.
That should be Mark Farner of Grand.Funk
@@beatledad Ugh, I knew that but didn't catch it!
@@sallyphillips9175 How cool! Green eyed lady here too.😁 I never got to see any of those perform.
I absolutely LOVE your reactions. They get me going and I thoroughly enjoy jamming with you Jamel. :) Everything you listen to is what I grew up with and it gives me great joy to watch a young man get into it just like I did back in the day, and still do when I hear it again. Thank you for your joy and enthusiasm for something that came out of my generation. It was a magical time, that old musical era. It is in my blood and it's wonderful to share it with the younger generations. Your reactions are so much fun and I love the way you get so into it! :) Bless you for sharing your heart with us.
I was 16 years old when this song came out in 1970.
The long version quickly became a popular “make-out song” back then.
Even after all these years, hearing this song makes my tongue and jaw feel tired.
As always, thanks for the tunes, smiles and memories.
🤣 love it! 💋😘😙
This is why we miss our old music. Young people like my grown kids think it’s stupid but we literally had the most awesome music back in my day. I was born in 1967. Growing up on all this music was heaven.
Thank you for reacting to my fav all time tune.......i'm a keyboard player and that organ solo still blows me away......plus the organ and bass player both playing that funky bass line......plus love the singing.......yes the LONG version some people don't know what they're missin with the short version......Jerry sings lead and plays organ and co-wrote the tune......TALENT
@Randy Sporing You bet!
Dude, you make me smile, laugh, and appreciate you! Much respect!
Dude... total California slang here.... this was my intro to bands like steelie dan .. war ... Chicago Santana.. tower of power.. it has the total power of jazz behind it .. totally cool.. just makes you feel good ..
it always reminded me of the Guess Who meets early Deep Purple
Same bands, too.
Yes,finally! I've been steadily requesting this for over 6month cause I knew you would dig it. So glad for this reaction. ❤😉
When that organ kicked it and you gave your best stank face....priceless.
This song is amazing! The keyboard work is tremendous! Clavinet and Hammond Organ! 😊
I have to tell you I've heard this song since I was eight years old - all my life - and watching you react to this made me appreciate it SO MUCH MORE than I ever have in my life! YOU rock, Jamal!
“Do it again... let me give my face a break...” dude, I just want to hang out with you. You have the best vibe! At the end of a crazy day, your videos just make me smile. I grew up on a lot of the music you react to. It makes me stoked to see you enjoy classic music. ✌️
Lost my green eyed Lady this year !
Looking forward to Seeing her again in Glory .
This really brought back some memories ! Some tears and some smiles. Wow! Roller coaster !
The ability to create music, is one of God's Greatest gifts. Thanks for sharing this
I'd forgotten how truly choice this track was! Thanks, Jamel!
One of the greatest bass lines ever. 🧡Jamel, I want to recommend that you react to Canned Heat - “Going up the country” and “On the road again.” (Part of me wants to see you react to the entire Woodstock concert footage...)
First response. 😂 I’ve loved this song for many many years my brother. Thank you for posting and God bless you and your family. Listening in Murfreesboro,Tn. Love ya bro, peace out ✌️
I believe this was 1969. One of my favorites from back in the day.
WOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! To continue the Green theme I highly recommend “ Green Onions” by Booker T and the MG’s- it COOKS!
They were the house backing band at Stax Records in Memphis and played for all the soul acts there including Otis Redding at Monterey Pop. Booker T also kicks it at Daryl’s house LIVE on Green Onions, too.
I’ve always thought jamel would love the Stax story.
if you have :
"green onions"
then follow
that with his :
"mo' onions"
because, you
gotta have what mo'
can offer..!!
@@warrior--poet5418 how about some Glass Onion too?

eight hours of the beatles binge, and we're okay, again..!!
its two green classics ! yes good idea
One of my all time favs! The skill of those musicians in composing and playing this tune is fabulous on many levels. So, you have already had your dessert today bro! 😀😀😃😄
This was one of my childhood favorites. I loved growing up with music like this.
Sugarloaf began as Chocolate Hair and they played Green Eyed Lady at our high school dance in Denver.
The guy jams on the keyboard, right?!
I'm so glad you got around that this one. This was one of my favorites and I know how much you enjoyed that organ.
I've never heard this song! Thank you Jamel for the awesome jam session! I'm happy to be a green eyed lady💚
Love your takes on so many of the songs . Love to see the joy of you discovering new music . So much of what you play and give your takes on we’re huge parts of my childhood and great teenage years . Keep the great vibes rolling .
Dude, I had to give my face a break too, I was smiling the entire time watching you react to this one, great reaction!!
Hahaha 😊
Cool ass song
The talent displayed during that jam session is out of this world. The way the guitar, keyboards, and drums weave together is breathtaking. The mathematics involved here are hard to achieve. Brilliant musicianship.
I've never heard the long version of this song. It was extra groovy.
Gah-roooooooo-veeeeeeeee!
This was awesome! Been waiting for you to get to this one. This has one of the best backgRock. drummer riffs and organ solos in rock. One of my all time favs. Thanks for your videos and especially this one. You lighten our days!
Another "one of many requests" answered! Ty,Jamal Jamel❤
.......good call, Mike.
The 'Green eyed Lady'...the sea. And that instrumental is their musical description of the the way she flows...Absolutely brilliant progressive Art Rock at it's best! Thankyou..
I'm glad you liked this song. Another one hit wonder from this era that you MUST check out is the band "Head East" and their song "Never Been Any Reason."
now im imagining driving down the highway in my '65 Ford Falcon convertible on a summer night in '74. there is SO MUCH life in this music! thanks for the ride, Jamel! PS: i love when someone suggests a song that i know will knock your socks off....i nodded my head vigorously and wait for it to happen. Peace out!!
One of the best classic tunes ever written!
One of my favourite songs of the late 60s & 1970s! Pretty much a one-hit wonder! The instruments were played incredibly well giving this song some hip moving boogie. I loved it and still do.
I grew up on this song, I always loved it- very jazzy, the organ solo, and the guitar solo done in octaves- like Wes Montgomery!!
Jamal, it does my heart so good to see a youngster like you diggin' the music I grew up with
Thank you, Jamel, for giving me this music to re-discover during your journey of discovery! So many songs you do, it has been too many years since I have heard them.. just love hearing them again... Stay safe & stay strong! 💜💜
I take these for granted. Thank you for making them fresh for me. We say "if you like this try that" we have been listening to this for 50 years. Fantastic music.
Wow, I just realized that all the other times I've heard this song it was the short version! Thanks, Jamel!
Steina Me too! I never knew what I was missing! Damn this is sweet!
@@falcongal63 When I searched Amazon Music today, I found a live performance of this for free! :)
Steina I just found it on Apple Music and it is now on my playlist. 😄
LOL, you reached back into my childhood with that classic! Love the reaction, I always liked the bass line on this, you know any song with an intro that many bars long got to be solid doc! Peace
You have GOT to cover Don't Call Us, We'll Call You!
Brings back memories! Love your show! Your the best.
Don’t let the sun go down on me. Elton John and George Michaels live. Chicken skin and goosebumps guaranteed
Also known as don't let your son go down on me....
Great song and “so much ear candy” what a great reaction.
Seems like this is one of those songs that used to get played on oldies radio a bunch but has been getting squeezed out by all the "new" oldies they keep adding. This is why what you are doing is so important Jamel.
That's definitely for sure.
When they were a local Denver band, I saw them perform this at Littleton High School before it was popular and on the radio.
Nice choice. Try Procol Harum - Conquistador. Van Morrison - in the Garden (Live)
Conquistador 👍haven’t heard that one in years !
Whiter Shade of Pale is a great Procul Harum tune, too.
And make Dang sure Conquistador is the Live version too, otherwise you'll be cheated out of a True listening experience!!!
In my high school yearbook, songs were matched to our pictures. My song was Geen Eyed Lady.
I was pleased since I
loved that song and
still do.
All my fellow green eyed ladies raise your hand, and let's hear it for Jamel 🙉🙈🙊👀👀👀
CHEERS!! 👐
Here! Here! Green eyed lady from Brazil sayin hey!
