Newer twin steers, Kenworths I know for sure, use three steering boxes on the front of the frame with the steering hoses connecting the left and right steering boxes. The third is just ahead of the second axle on the driver's side.

Hey Ben couple questions maybe you can help with. Currently building a Stepps Can Do wrecker. First, outside of cutting the hinges, are there any ways to help make the hood functional? There are a lot of things that seem to get in the way of tilting the hood, seems to be an ongoing issue with all the Revell 359 kits.
Second, I’m getting to the painting point on the wrecker bed. As you probably know there are a ton of functional parts, specifically sliding parts. I’ve got them sanded so the slide but are snug. I’m afraid if I paint, they’ll be too tight. Do I sand more before painting? Make the deliberately too loose and then paint? Thank Ben, love the videos

I'm guess you're make the truck white like the box art? Maybe the sliding parts, paint with a laquer because it's very thin compared to enamels etc. Also maybe something like Vallejo paint, they are also very thin and have good coverage. Just on the booms and outriggers, if the colour is nice enough, the whole thing.

@@crushingvanessa3277 yes, going for the Stepps look. My plan for those parts were to paint white then do some dry brush weathering.

On the hood hinge issue, I'm not really sure as I don't have one completed to check at the moment. I have a couple in progress and I built probably five of them but that was back in the eighties. If I get back on my 359 "Stage Coach" project, I'll look into it.

On the paint issue, the only thing I could recommend is to spray very light coats of flat paint on the parts and then insert the boom into the end of the outer boom. With it in the closed position shoot it with gloss clear coat.
