- From static to dynamic and now follow recoil... I wonder what the next crosshair will be on CS3!

Watch Warowl's video here: • Follow Recoil in Count...
So after a harassment campain from all fronts and the final push of Warowl, here's me giving a shot at this new option for the crosshairs! Is it overpowered? Will it make Source 2 a brand new CS experience? Let's see :)
Catch me live on / houngoungagne - Ігри
So the thing is yeff, if you turn on center dot the dot does not move, so you can reposition your crosshair pretty easily
Even without, a dot appears when you shoot. You can see it on Houngoungagne's screen when you slow down but because he uses a thin dark crosshair, it's barely visible.
@@kaksspl also quite easy to see at 0:41
@@Kuchen. ? thats all dust spraying around
@@yeetyeet7070 nah if you look at the first bullet hole he shot you can see it
This is crazy, I didn't know that. Thanks man.
I planned on using my monitors crosshair for that,
but I guess valve was one step ahead of me.
If you keep testing it out, I think you have to force yourself to stop burst firing since it kind of defeats the purpose of the crosshair following recoil, even though its hard to get rid of the ~15000 hours of experience with it not moving. Also, you should try the deagle again, but this time try shooting again before the recoil resets - that's what follow recoil really should help you with when using it. If you try to play with it as though you have a static crosshair, it defeats the purpose of knowing exactly where the next shot will go. Just some thoughts on how you could experiment more to see if it does give more of an advantage or not.
It’s not that often you get to spray a ton since your opponent will likely have killed you before then. So it’s not weird that this feature is really difficult to test in that way. The best use could be spraying through smokes, but that has been nerfed in CS2, and it wouldn’t make for a very fun video xD. You might as well show off this feature by spraying on a wall.
@@8is
It makes spray transfers extremely easy and noob friendly.
Also probably try it with a crosshair you can actually see. Then he will notice that his 1 complaint isn't actually a complaint haha
@@NOU-iw3gb This feature will make it easy to finally learn how to spray transfer, once you get it down, you don't need this feature. This feature doesn't fundamentally change anything about how the game works, it can only change the way you understand the game allowing you to more easily pick up on your mistakes.
And as a noob I hope I'll help me with the timing of my deagle shots. I usually shot them too fast and don't hit anything or too slow and getting killed.
It's nice you and WarOwl are uploading so much more content, big w
This feature has been in CSGO for some time. You can get a feel for it on the Yprac Recoil Map.
Personally, I find that my sprays do statistically improve a small amount when I used this.
However, you still need to have the muscle memory of the appropriate spray understood, so that the Follow recoil "assists" in micro adjusting on the fly during the spray.
Yeah, once you get the spray pattern down, you probably don’t need an indicator to see where you are in the spray pattern since you would instinctively know where you are anyway. This feature could be very useful to those just learning how spray patters work and for already experienced players to more easily learn how to use other guns than the few they already know.
@David Montgomery That doesn't happen very often since your opponent has probably killed you before you get the chance to empty an entire mag. But this feature will probably polish up your spray control, but you won't need it aside from learning the spray pattern.
@@8iswell you can learn sprey pattern well, but you don't play for some time and it is not in top condition. Perfect for me to adjust super quick
@@runek100 Yeah, and that'll happen till you've eventually just learned the spray pattern and don't need to adjust anymore.
@@8is its still good for sprey transfer. Idk I will use it for sure, its cool to see it in center when you sprey.
The crosshair doesnt do much for the recoil if you are experienced BUT for SPRAY TRANSFERS its insane. Now you have a crosshair and you are always one bullet ahead. I will definitely use this even though its weird at first
Jeff loving the content recently keep it up!!
The warowl video had a crosshair with center dot. And that dot remained in the center of the screen. Giving you essentially both types of crosshairs at the same time. Potential for that?
I think if you use a dot in your Xhair, it stays center screen even if Follow Recoil on.
good thing yeff is making lots of videos now, good to see ma boi's motivation is back! finally i can watch again my fave baguette youtuber and not only rewatch old vids
Love the sudden recent uploads! Keep it up good content!
I think its a good thing for new players but older players would keep the old crosshair (also love your content
there should be an offline practice map for it, but shouldnt be allowed in competitive.
@@christiansmemefactory1513 Agree with this one. On guns like the P90, Bizon, UMP or any SMG it looks like it will help you tremendously if you don't know the patterns at all.
In casual matches yeah sure, go ahead and use it for all learning purposes, but the end goal should still be running a still crosshair with any of the other preferences.
@@christiansmemefactory1513 but I want to play the game, not spend hundreds of hours in practice mode
@@qunas101 then it should be available in the casual mode. And if valve enables it for matchmaking hopefully faceit and esea block it in their pugs.
@@christiansmemefactory1513 It doesn’t really get you an advantage. The only way it helps you is if you don’t already know the spray pattern. Overtime, you’ll learn to instinctively spray control with or without an indicator showing where in the spray pattern you are.
There should be a primary static crosshair and it's "ghost" following the recoil so you would know exactly where to aim before it's accurate again.
Love the transition at 2:29. Smooth editor jeff
Well, the way you would learn spray patterns in any CS from 1.x it was always about following particles effects of bullets on the wall, so it kind of always been there? On the other hand, there was never something helping you to spray through smokes or on longer distance so it is something new.
This is a feature on some CS:GO cheats, however most cheaters don't use it for some reason even though some recoil adjustments are needed even though you have RCS aimbot (low smooth and FOV makes it needed if you don't know the recoil patterns). Makes me think that this type of crosshair wont be a super popular choice.
The thing is …watching guys like you and WarOwl….there’s just too many years of muscle memory. You guys are Gods. It needs to be tested with noobs and Silvers and folks with like 100-300 hours in the game to see if it truly makes a difference for us mere mortals. 😂🎉
and im watching thinking how they are mechanically not the best to test this feature Lmao
we need some monesi type aim gods trying it
It obviously does, because you know exactly the sprey in real time. But you need to learn sprey pattern anyway, it just help you learn without joining to some aim map.
it makes it op when you bind toggle on or off depending on your weapon ur using (if pistols and rifles off follow recoil and then if smgs toggle on)... also run and gun in smgs using this follow recoil is so OP
I think the main problem with this feature is that it affects your aim differently depending on which type of weapon you're using.
If you're using pistols, this might actually throw you off a lot.
snipers and shotgun are the same
For rifles and m249, it's mostly for preference, because then the crosshair gets very jumpy so you'll still have to learn the recoil pattern.
But then we get to the fun part:
Negev is obviously buffed. Back in csgo you need to kind of aim based on an estimated distance from your crosshair, or where your bullet trace goes. With this feature you can just lock onto players and they'll just die.
SMGs get an insane buff. SMGs have better run&gun accuracy, combined with a more lenient spray pattern. This means that using the follow recoil feature you can easily track your crosshair to the head while running and you're more or less guaranteed to land multiple headshots at close range. This combined with its cheap price + extra kill bonus makes it a lot more effective.
This will encourage people binding a toggle to this option based on which weapon they're using, which I believe goes against what the devs intended, since they're obviously trying to reduce command-abusing in the game.
Not only that, it might lower the skill ceiling by trivializing certain skill aspects of the game. For instance, bursting/tapping is much easier, since you can now tell exactly when your recoil resets, allow you to shoot as quickly as possible while maintaining maximum accuracy.
This means that if they want to keep the game balancing as close to csgo as possible, they will have to
a. Remove this feature (which sucks, since a lot of people like it, apparently)
b. rebalance the entire arsenal (which would make CS no longer CS)
It seems like follow recoil would have their own lobbies.
I think people misunderstand. It doesn't lower the skill ceiling- its the same ceiling, they raised the skill floor. This makes the game more accessible to the majority of players because you don't need to spend hours learning the recoil pattern in a training map [which is boring! and unfun!] you can instead turn this setting on and learn in the game, with a clear indication of your recoil that you still need to follow with that muscle memory. In other words- 'What you see is what you get'.
I think this is a good feature for the game, it doesn't erase any of the needed skill- it keeps the same skills needed- it just makes learning them a lot more viable for most people. Bursting/Tapping is the exact same skill and requires that skill- you are just able to learn it a lot better. A new player fighting a pro player is still going to lose, but they will be able to learn the pro's skills without needing 15 youtube guides and go to a training map for hours.
If it did a ghost cross hair and static at the same time that would be awesome
idk why but when he said “but with the small wheels” (0:52) was super funny to me
for high level play there might be some use but i this was definitely intended to reduce the learning curve of the game for new players learning to spray
I think you might have used not the best crosshair style. Because WarOwl and also your crosshair, when it starts to move away leaves 1 dot in the center. Which is essential for such weapons as deagle (as you showed). So imo you should try a thicker or slightly different crosshair to have better visibility of the dot in the center when the crosshair starts to move.
Love your content btw :))
We need both! both crosshairs at the same time!
When you showed the example with the Deagle wouldn’t it make sense if you’re crosshair resented to the centre when you’re at your most accurate? Also, I have 1500+ hours in CS and I can’t wait to try this feature out for myself just like you said, I think it will help.
honestly i kinda like it with the pistols and especially the deagle. it allows my spam happy brain to finally get a semi accurate spam deagle kill.
maybe using the follow recoil with a monitor provided static crosshair would work for you the best. adjusting using the monitor one, sprying with the follow ingame one.
you can use an external crosshair like crossover, to help with cross hair moving away.
There should probably be option for a static crosshair and an extra one for the recoil indicator
You can have a static one overlayed (some monitors have it built in) and ingame crosshair follow recoil
5:48 i love that the person who dcd is still being shown on the scoreboard
Yeah that’s a new thing- people have been DCing often so I’ve seen it plenty :,)
if you can bind this it's very good imo, keep steady with pistols and moving with smgs
Happy for your viewers count 🎉📈
Hey guys trying out follow crosshair today! *continues to burst and tap fire every target
less capable people will say this is hate
My dude really busted out the Yoshi's Island soundtrack 10/10
what could be fucking op is if you had the crosshair static but a crosshair center dot moving around
also, i feel like the following crosshair gets better with spray tranfers
thank you for seeing the downsides of this. i wonder if we can set a bind to turn it on and off that would be nice. i havent finished the video yet incase u already know
I’d like a center dot or a circle around the crosshair that stays centered.
Follow crosshair + in-game monitor 👇
ua-cam.com/users/shorts3sIIwdfGsYI?feature=share
🙏
There should always be a fixed point in the center of the screen and it would be perfect even for the pistols
Have something like a dot that moves, so your crosshair is static, but there is a dot that shows you the recoil
If you use this crosshair on Aug or sg553 does the reticle in sight also move or only the crosshair when not scoped in?
Honestly I would prefer for the whole view model to follow the recoil just like what they do in apex, it helps me to track the spray way easier.
hey yeff is clear decals stil a thing cus whit the new bloth spethers idk
I love your content, you inspired me to play cs:go
Welcome onboard!
the new follow recoil feature won't change CSGO as much as you think. it's basically like war thunder aim guide in arcade aviation battle if you played it. it only guides you where you should place your crosshair and where the crosshair is. it won't turn into somekind of aimbot unless you have a super quick reaction time in aligning the crosshair with your opponents beans
Yoooooooooo this was already in csgo. Idk the console command but it came out before the T crosshair...
I think that this should only be allowed in deathmatch to learn spray patterns, not in competitive
It doesn’t really get you an advantage. The only way it helps you is if you don’t already know the spray pattern. Overtime, you’ll learn to instinctively spray control with or without an indicator showing where in the spray pattern you are.
Yup remove it from comp.
if only we could still bind multiple actions to keys so we could enable crosshair recoil only on rifles….
headshots are very satisfying
whatever it takes to grow the game im for it ❤️
I love this feature. Think with my perspective: I watch a lot of CS but have very little time to actually play, and when I do play, it's just 1 or 2 matches, with a normal computer (I don't even have a 144hz monitor).
So it's safe to say I have a very good *theoretical* understanding of the game (the economy, the strats, positioning, what rounds should be played faster or slower, where to aim, what to expect) because I see pros doing it all the time and I consciously analyze it. But I have very little raw skill with shooting because I don't play that much (I have just 500 hours of gameplay in YEARS of owning the game), so in most matches it's pretty frustrating that I can *think* of something but not *execute* it that well, getting wrecked by a 12 year old that just runs and guns mindlessly.
I see clearly that I struggle a lot with SMGs recoil, for example. Or the famas, damn, it swings everywhere. I've always wished for something that would help a little with that just so I can be a little bit better for my team.
Pretty happy for this. Counter Strike is a very difficult game to master.
The thing is, these people are a cult who don't want people like you or me to play this game. They complain about any change that might threaten their existence and ego. I have seen countless pros and streamers raging at newbees and telling them to f-off as they don't belong here. They act as if they are the ones who made the game and should be the only ones to play the same.
Is the smoke at 4:13 cs2 only?? Ive been trying to replicate it at the non beta version with no luck
So combined with a very very small second crosshair from your monitor for example this could work pretty well.
No need. The feature already leaves a dot where the crosshair would be if it were static. Jeff just somehow missed that, even though we can clearly see it on his video.
All I was thinking this video was how your Staying Alive by Bee Gees work on the Deagle anymore? Can you shoot faster in CS2 with the deagle? easy to test with this function.
I wish i had CS2
Did you have reverb applied to your voice in this yeff? Personally it sounds a little too reverby but that may just be my own preference :)
When the guys said "its like COD" he meant that the Crosshair shows exactly where the bullets goes, just like COD.
What res are you using in this vid Jeff?
so basically if i turn on my static monitor crosshair + turn my ingame crosshair to something relatively small and turn on the follow recoil I basically get the best of both worlds
Bro I totally spray that all the time for the love
you should add movement inaccuracy, and firing inaccuracy, that would be really fun
Basically using a default crosshair with follow recoil.
couldnt you just bind it and then when using eg. deagle you disable it?
Wait. so the crosshair doesn't stay centered? Would rather the crosshair stay centered and camera follow the shots instead.
Hey, hows your fitness journey going?
This feature is such a nice feature, I loved it during my playtime, really good on guns like MP7 and guns you don't use too often.
It's a really fun feature, I also really like that it doesn't show where the bullet will go but only draws the no-spread pattern so it does not give you information you wouldn't know.
Isn't there a center dot that shows where the center is?
USE THE SCOPE JEFF 😂
im very curious do we still have the butt plugs crosshair wiggle? (shadow daggers)
This was a Feature literary in Cheat Menus that people used to play Legit and having good recoil...
Its perfect for panic silver fire!
It will be op while gun and run with smgs
Yeah it’s hella strong in some cases
2:55 bruh.. 😅
Maybe they can enable that feature just for new players specifically. When they rank up higher it will be disabled.
I sadly can't test this, but a dot in the crosshair could solve the problem with the adjusting in between shots.
It is in csgo as well, just behind sv_cheats. You can test vs bots or workshop maps!
finally i'll know where i am shooting after 10 years
To me, i sort of find it distracting to have tbe crosshair move in accordance to the spray pattern to the point where i would play worse. Having it static for me would feel better because the crosshair isn't moving everywhere when i shoot.
Image if the camera followed recoil instead of the crosshair.
Back when I used to cheat in csgo this was an option for "legit cheating", you weren't using aimbot but you could also keep your spray on the enemy. Made the game slightly easier.
Very interesting!
IMO, the follow recoil should be for casual and unranked playlists to allow newer players to learn recoil easy
However, It should not be in comp to keep the CS feel.
That lobby was tragic…
honestly, tracers do the same thing, this just means that learning spray patterns isn't obscured by random innacuracy forcing you to pay offline with 0 innacuracy to learn the patterns. so much of csgo learning curve is practically dependant on external websites, custom maps, guides, and singleplayer console commands. I think making the game learnable from just playing the game is a change for the better.
Also, csgo has feedback available for inacuracy with the crosshairs that spread out when you shoot, but no feedback for recoil. I would love a crosshair option that allows you to have certain part(s) follow recoil, with others locked on screen centre. The obvious candidate for the moving part is the middle dot but also everything other than the middle dot would make sense too.
When I try the cl_crosshair_recoil 1 thing in csgo with sv_cheats 1 I think it already account some “randomness” of a weapon(I slow down the host time and rapid fire the deagle and put the crosshair on the enemy and it is accurate (it doesn't account the weapon inaccuracy itself for sure)so I am guessing there will an amazing young talent/pro player that can control the spray with insane reflects(I dont have beta access to test this feature in csgo2,hopefully someone can tell me if it is the same thing)
i dont understand people saying this feature is only good for new players who dont know patterns because even the proest of pro players mess up their sprays and now with this they will literally never miss a spray again and also pretty much just allows them to spray transfer without fail every single time.
It destroys the skill ceiling as it makes spray transfers easy now.
Also right now in csgo if we end up messing up our spray then we have to stop and start over. We get punished for doing the wrong spray. But now we don't have to stop spraying because all we have to do is drag the crosshair to our opponent's body.
People saying that it improves accessibility are the same people that don't respect the integrity of this game.
Why not just add aim assist and make it a COD knockoff at this point?
Every single other competitive game has a cross hair that follows where the gun is pointing. And they still have a competetive scene, it won't ruin Jack shit.
Jeez, you fucking boomers hate any change that makes newbies improve faster. No one should stare at a wall or go into workshop maps for many hours to play a single competitive match propely. It's like boomers complaining about new technology, they want to keep it the same way. It never destroys any core mechanics of the game, it's literally a training wheel for bikes but in recoil, once you learn it then you don't need it.
Not Gunna lie, I'm going to use it and a monitor crosshair simultaneously...best of both worlds.
Please try Follow Recoil with Revolver Right Click... Since i can't find anyone else doing it.
Thank you very much for the video.
op with the negev
It's a good training tool, like the grenade preview window. Should be available offline and in casual game modes, but much like the nade preview, it has no place in competitive play. If you're entering competitive, you should be able to control your spray and line your nades up without help. If you can't, maybe don't play competitive.
Agreed. It feels insulting with all the hours I've put into practicing spray control.
It's like having nospread imo
U seem to be using the follow crosshair like a normal crosshair try not bursting and in case of the deagle maybe shoot before the recoil finishes
The follow crosshair should make that accurate as long as it standing
too bad they just disabled binding multiple commands to one button, you could toggle follow recoil on for your bind to select primary and off for select secondary, so when you press e.g. 1 you pull out your AK and get the follow recoil and when you press 2 to switch to the deagle it also turns it off.
if you find it to be a problem to reposition your crosshair after a pistol shot. i have a tip for you.
if you hit them in the face on the first bullet you don't need to reajust
do that with the glock
4:29 average cs experience :D
It's like your crosshair is going on vacations 😆living its best life I see
Please keep it!
i really assumed warowls video was april fools
it's for run and gunning
I feel like the crosshair would be beneficial in the deagle as an example to show you the timing when the gun is fireable again, rather than waiting until it visually resets. would be the same with usp
It makes it easier to learn the timing, but once you know it, this feature doesn't really help you.
