And it's still to this day the only season premiere to be a special
The best part is that it really does explain so much about Plankton's desire to get the formula -- it's not just that Krabs has what he doesn't, it's that he was LITERALLY THERE for the creation of the Krabby Patty (or well, a precursor to it prior to that stuff falling in the patty batter) and missed out on it due to their friendship falling apart. Somewhat implying too that Plankton feels he has a right to it, since he had a hand in its creation.
Friend or Foe is a really great way to see how Mr. Krabs and Plankton became lifelong enemies. It’s still so amazing to find out they were actually friends in the past.

@@bismanaufalazzam7065it’s probably one of those things where both sides try to make it seem like they’ve been wronged the most. I think maybe plankton did help make the formula (by accident most likely), but crabs probably perfected it. Plankton seems to genuinely love Krabby patties, while krabs’ loves the money.
Came for SpongeBob, stayed for the Taco Bell conversation.
Funny that Plankton still called Krabs Ragboy, yet Krabs is now a millionaire, potentially multi-millionaire.
Friend or Foe is just one of those classic SpongeBob specials
The creator, Stephen Hillenburg, didn’t came back til AFTER the second SpongeBob movie, Sponge out of Water. So pretty much at the second half of Season 9.

The creator of the series came back halfway during Season 9, but this season is still good. Friend or Foe was good because Tim Hill, a season 1 writer came back for episode 1 of this season. As well as a few Season 4 episodes.
The creator came back in season 9 starting with the episode Lost in Bikini Bottom and the last episode he had a part in looking over before he passed away was Pineapple RV in season 12

Patchy being a fry cook checks out. I loved SpongeBob so much that I wanted to be a fry cook growing up. And my parents who owned restaurants gave me extensive lectures about how they didn’t want my brother and I in the restaurant industry because of how terrible it is. Luckily, I hated working in the restaurant, so it worked out.

Lol, one of the few times you realize Boom is the oldest of the group here. He even quoted the show as he defended Pee Wee. Now I kinda want to see them react to the Pee Wee Herman movie, just to see the look on all their faces. XD
Would you guys ever consider reacting to Phineas and Ferb? It’s a longer series but an absolute classic, and lots of people my age grew up with it. It’s pretty funny and there’s at least one banger of a song per episode, so it’s fun to watch. And even if you don’t, thanks for all the videos you guys have been putting out this year, they been really fun :)
The original team returned to spongebob in the second half of season 9. They made the second movie (sponge out of water), and then worked on the show again afterwards.

For a long time, "Night Light" was my favorite Spongebob episode.

The original fry cook was pretty mediocre. The episode was mean-spirited.

Here we enter what I call the “Drought Era.” Where the quality just starts to dip a lot. Season 5 though isn’t the worst of it. And Friend or Foe is actually one of the best post-season-4 episodes of all imo. It’s so interesting learning this backstory, which has actually been made canon. Future episodes make mention of it.
SpongeBob could very well be as successful as Jim, but to him, success isn’t the point, he’s happy being at the Krusty Krab.

Season 5 had such a great start with Friend Or Foe and The Original Frycook, the special is my second favorite of the entire series.

You should have an episode where you all pick a fast food item and make the others eat something they've never tried and each vote on a winner. Gummy enthusiasts might be at a disadvantage though
1. Steve (the creator) doesn't come back until season 9. Seasons 6 and 7 are sadly when people started to hate the show. I don't mind it though.
2. People need to realize it wasn't just the creator that left; it was like 50% of the entire crew.
writers, animators, storyboard artists , directors, line supervisors, all that sh*t.
So really, Paul Tibbitt (the producer from 4-9A) got put in a bad spot.
3. Paul Tibbitt is one of the best writers of the pre-movie era. So there was a reason he was picked. In case you think he's a useless, talentless, careless sack of a producer, he tried. Plus, he got the roles of executive producer AND supervising producer. which was more than Steve had to do.
P.S. Paul did write some amazing episodes for season 4 and wrote the Patchy scenes for the Friend or Foe special, which is probably why it felt like seasons 1-3.

In 8 and onwards, we still get it every once in a while, but not to the extent of 6 and 7.

I love friend or foe it's a great way to show Mr. Krabs and plankton who were friends fallout of trust. It also shows why plankton wants the secret formula in a way.
