BB4 isn't saving anything but, with a $90m budget, it is a reminder of how to make profitable action movies. If Furiosa had a similar budget then it would be somewhere close to breaking even. With movie theatres performing the way they are, anything with a $150m+ production budget is getting to be an unacceptable risk.

Then went a few years of not re watching it and suffered with the Woke garbage Hollywood puts out, before treating myself to a special collectors Bluray and watching it again recently. Its just awesome. Less is more. And the characters, they just managed to get perfect actors for all three main roles. But when she fought the assassin, she was easily thrown about a couple of times, hardly landed a single blow, got her ass handed to her & had to flee. That's a realistic fight. Good movie, underrated.

The problem is that Hollywood won't realize what people liked about a movie that performs well and latch onto something else that is completely irrelevant. For instance, if Bad Boys 4 does well in the box office, we won't see a bunch of fun inoffensive action movies, we'll see a flood of Martin Lawrence and Will Smith movies.

And yet he still stays loyal. Then it turns out they are not sleeping together or living in the same house or whatever was going on and he still defends her. I think the slap thing was him finally snapping, after all the stuff he has had to deal with in his marriage. I get the feeling she is only with him for the doors he could open for her and she has just used him a lot.....Fresh Prince of Bell Air was one of the funniest things I had ever seen as teen and then he goes on to star in some truly great entertaining movies....he is never boring in his films and always worth seeing....

I think the general appeal of this movie over others is that men get to be men in this movie. Men have been under attack since like 2016 and movies and entertainment in general have suffered for it, but with this, people know the franchise and they know the characters. They know that men will get to be funny, cool, and kick a**. It's the same reason why Top Gun 2 did so well, it was a breath of fresh air.
I think with Fall Guy, it starred Ryan Gosling who was in the Barbie movie and he did not portray a strong male character. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes has a female lead, same with Furiosa. But Bad Boys 4 has two very strong male leads. People know what they are getting and don't have to be worried about being preached to. They can just have fun at the movies, which is the point, especially for a summer blockbuster.

The film is a 'write by numbers': fast car, new love interest for WS, ML being the sidekick, gunplay, short scene with John Salley's Fletcher, baddies get killed. Amusing enough but nothing new, even the FPS style was done a long time ago by Doom.
The big question is who was doing continuity with Judy Howard's four ear-rings suddenly disappearing in the chase through the forest at the end [like highly sparkly ear-rings are a good idea in a raid anyway].
