NMKが開発した縦スクロールシューティングの良作「サンダードラゴン」。操作はレバーと2ボタンの基本スタイルだが、ワイドタイプの広域散弾機関砲、バルカンタイプの振動粒子速射砲など4種類の特徴的な特殊兵器があり、戦略的な戦いが楽しむことができる。またボンバーは上空350kmにある戦略支援攻撃衛星"SOL"からのサテライトレーザーによる核融合ナパームビームとなっており、"SOL"とのコンビネーションプレイが重要となってくる。ステージ序盤から難易度は高めで、敵の出現パターンを覚えないとなかなか先へは進めず、ボンバーを使ってのゴリ押しで進む場面もあるが、演出の派手さが受けヒット作となった。全8ステージのループ制だが、2周目以降が幾つかのステージが飛ばされ全体的な構成が短くなっている。
ストーリー:
22世紀後半、地球の汚染により、宇宙移民に総力を傾けねばならなくなった人類は、全ての自動戦闘兵器を平和条約によって凍結した。が、自分たち以外の知的生物の存在を許さないマッドサイエンティスト集団“サイバーメフィスト”は地球連合軍の退役コンピュータ指揮戦艦をハッキングし、全ての自動戦闘兵器を手中に収めるのに成功した。狂ったように襲いくる自動空中戦艦！！迫りくる人類最後の日！！シカゴ郊外の軍事博物館に眠る「最後の有人戦闘ヘリ」と呼ばれた、GH-68サンダードラゴンが、100年ぶりに名も無き若い2人の主人をコクピットに迎え入れたのは、まさにその時だった。

While I certainly have a preference for the second Thunder Dragon’s scoring mechanics, I gotta say the player ship looks rad af in the first game. It’s like a choppa without a rotor. And it transforms when switching guns. Just badass.

This board was easy to pirate by Taiwanese and Chinese bootleggers. In consequence it was dirt cheap and easy to get.
excellent gameplay, but who would have programmed that horrible musical track in the emulation? I was one of the nineties people who left part of their lives in the rooms with Thunder Dragon for a long time. It seems that an ape started playing keys on a synthesizer non-stop. I preferred to listen to this muted to remember those times...

A nice game,sadly there are no home convertion for the 16 bit during those days. Well i say that is beyond the capabilities of those machine.

Recuerdas la pista de fondo era completamente distinta hasta relajante como moderna. Solo la del boss se mantiene parecida. Esta como que se la hubieran pegado de otro juego. Hasta perturba estarla escuchando tanto tiempo
