ひと目見て、 東亜プランのタイガーシリーズを彷彿とさせる作品だが、それもそのはず、開発には東亜プランのスタッフの協力があったようである。 操作方法は8方向レバーで移動、ショットとボンバーに2つのボタンを使用する。 全8ステージでループする。 シンプルな造りと絶妙な難易度で多くのプレイヤーを惹きつけただけでなく、 その後数年のシューティングゲームの基礎となった。
ストーリー:
AD 2090 地球は、突如として現われた外宇宙生命体の侵略を受けた。 激戦の続く中、世界連合軍政府は、破壊された敵の戦闘機を基に、世界中の優秀な技術者を集めて、 超高空戦闘爆撃機・雷電を作り出したが、あまりにも高性能、高機動であったために、 実戦に耐えられるパイロットは、僅か二名しか残らなかった。 そして今、地球の運命を賭けて、2機の戦闘機が出撃する。

The title of this game translates from Japanese as 'Thunder and Lightning'.
Raiden is the name of a Japanese WWI Fighter, the Mitsubishi J2M Raiden.
Licensed to Fabtek for US distribution, to Liang HWA Electronics for Taiwan distribution, to I.B.L. Corporation for Korea distribution and to Wah Yan Electronics for Hong Kong distribution.
Pony Canyon / Scitron released a limited-edition soundtrack album for this game (Raiden Densetsu - PCCB-00047) on 05/12/1990.
- TIPS AND TRICKS -
* Items list:
- Red beacon: Gives the Vulcan firepower to the player who obtains it.
- Blue beacon: Gives the Laser firepower to the player who obtains it.
- M: Gives the Nuclear missile sub-weapon to the player who obtains it.

大型敵機を倒した時の派手な爆発音や、少し低音が効いたBGM、敵の弾の速い、かなり硬派な縦スクロールSTGだったのを思い出しました、この時期ってシューティングゲーム全盛期でとても良かったです。
小学生の時バッティングセンターで1942の次にハマったゲーム🎮懐かしい…

自分はPS1でやってた。
雷電プロジェクトっていう（１と２が同梱になってる）盤があって、助かったのが難易度の設定があったんだよね、確か。
Hard, Normal, Easy, Very Easyの４段階だった記憶だけど、自分はVery Easyでしかエンドロールを見たことないです。
難易度で雑魚の出現パターンと弾幕の厚さが異なるんで、非常に難しかったですねぇ。
ステージ８ボスの鬼のような発狂モードを、華麗に回避しきって撃破するのかっこよすぎです！
I'm watching stage 8 and starting to haemorrhage from the eyes - this is insane, I felt lucky to get past stage 3... amazing stuff.
ラスボスの最終形態の攻撃が激しすぎてついていけねぇ(悲)
この初代雷電を見て思い出すのは、20年以上前かなあ、東京中井のゲーセンで、小学校低学年と思われる少女が一人で
雷電をプレイしてたことｗ。思わず「渋いな！君！」って心の中で叫んだ。

Awesome run. Been playing Raiden 1 on Raiden Project a lot since Christmas. Can no-death my way consistently through the first four stages now, but man Stage 5 is where the difficulty really starts to ratchet up from challenging to rage-quitting ridiculousness. But yet I keep coming back, trying to push further lol.

autofire helps a bit with the bosses and sub-bosses. . . . .but it's a fair out-sourcing of a mindless, finger-numbing task. knowing the enemy patterns, and ship control, are the key to success in this game. . . . amen for autofire.
had forgotten that trick for the sixth boss. . . . . & unbelievable system for the final boss, i think back in the day i'd just bomb away.

As a young teenager I managed to play the game through, after months of filling the coin box at my local arcade. I'm not sure my brain could handle it these days - the game is pretty full on from the start but those last 2 or 3 stages are just crazy intense! Always my favourite type of arcade game, the downward scrolling shooter, and Raiden was the king

Raiden is a great Shoot em up!...
I like it. He knw the trick how to destroy boss used 1 bomb for boss no.3 and no.4. Fyi, if your timing your bomb correct with laser your might destroy the boss in 10 sec. However, the stage toward the boss is not easy in stage 3 and 4. What a nostalgic.

@@kami3701 I think he meant if you bomb at the right time with your laser weapon, the boss will die quickly
SNK should buy this series and use the team that worked on Metal Slug 1-3.. imagine how beautiful it would be with amazing pixel art.. everyone sucks for abandoning pixel art :(
This series is better off left in the hands of Seibu and Moss. SNK has done nothing but fighting games since they re-emerged, while 3 Raiden games have since appeared when SNK first went under.

Some of these bosses went down without much effort from the player, signs of someone who knows the game inside and out.
And also a nice autofire.
I notice a lot of Japanese players use autofire for these shmups, hell can't blame them, saves wear and tear on the hands.
Bloodreign1 yeah but it's also added fire power, I don't blame them for using it but often it's not the same experience as playing without it
Yeah, as an older player into his 40's now, autofire is a welcome thing. I can't play games like 1942 due to how fast you have to press the buttons to make your plane fire quickly.

19:55最初発進した空母が途中ボロボロになって現れた時はなぜか泣けた。
コイツも合流するまでにどこかで戦ってたんだろうな、って。
で、最後単機で大気圏再突入を果たすとか自機どんだけ高性能やねん(笑)
空母は単独切って戦うお船じゃないから、多分雷電が飛び立って手薄になったところを襲われたんだと自分は見てる。

there's only 8 stages in Raiden, maybe you referring to Raiden DX which have stage 9 in expert mode

つまり｢核」、主人公機は小型核ミサイルで攻撃してたんや(怖)
素晴らしいファイターです。😂
このバージョンのRAIDENはパータンの有効性が強く，敵の出現位置や攻撃パターン，安全地帯を記憶してしまえば，ノーミス，ノーボムでのクリアが可能だった．私はレーザーにせず，アイテム浮遊弱体化技を使わずにワンコインクリアできた．相当やり込んだからね

当時ノーミスクリアしてるので今見てもさほど難しいように感じないけど、
高校生だったあの頃と違って老眼なのでゲームの難易度よりも厄介だw
