I am crying right now! Happy tears. I am loving your ART so much. It gives me life. And your attitude is amazing. Will keep watching. Please post don't stop inspiring me to paint
I have one suggestion about scraping out the last little bits of colour for transferring to your squeeze bottles. Instead of struggling with the wooden stirring stick, you could use a small rubber or silicone spatula. These would be available in any supermarket or craft store. It can help to get out up to 95% of these expensive materials. They are also great for stirring, easily washable and reusable.
if you look on any paint store like dulux or something they should have a binder of some sort. Not guaranteed it will work like hers though. Although I have seen other people on UA-cam do the dips just using floetrol but you need your paints a little thicker than they are made for swipes. Just incase here in Canada only dulux paint stores carry the floetrol
I just started using acrylic paints 3 months ago and still have a lot to learn. As I gather my courage to try a pour I'm glad to see this video about your mixture. Right now I am just trying to paint with the acrylics (I had only tried oils before) and it is both easier and more difficult at the same time. A real learning curve. Thank you, Fiona from Slovenia. I'm from Arkansas in the United States.
Hi I just found the first primer binder and a version of the thicker binder without any problem. Your work is inspiring. Things get crazy in the US and we need videos like yours - beauty is always good. So you are helping people far more than you know, Thanks.
Thank you for sharing how you mix your paints. It’s so overwhelming when I watch so many videos on how to mix paints. Yours was the easiest to understand.
That is truly mesmerizing! At first I wanted you to just leave it in the oval but it is stunning after the tilting. I see and feel so many things in this painting. Love love love it ❣️❣️
I am so glad I finally found you. I have been watching many other pouring artists, but when I found you, your paintings reach out and touch me! Thank you so very much for sharing with us.
I totally understand. I don’t measure either. It’s so much easier for me to go by sight, feel, or touch. Same with my cooking. I don’t use recipes very much either. I can tell how something will taste as I create. Thank you for sharing your beautiful talent with all of us. 🥰
Fiona, you are my hero. I watch your videos every day. You are an amazing artist. I have been trying the flower pour with the napkin but cannot get my paint right. I will not give up though. You are my inspiration.
I just ordered several tubes of Amsterdam paints and can't wait to try them. I sooooo want to get the beautiful results you get -- I get that I have to practice a lot, and I don't mind. I just want to see some progress with my art work. Thank you so much for all you do for us who are just starting out!
Thank you so much! It is so wonderful to be able to watch and listen to another soul from another part of the world while sitting here at home explaining how to do something I love to do also. Just wish I could do it half as good as you. Love Love Love your beautiful work. You are truly a Blessed
So excited Fiona! I have your tutorial running on my big screen tv & I’ve got my painting supplies set up on a card table so I can follow along. Good Floetral is thick like your binder & can be mixed with plain water to thin down. However, I actually learned to pour with “thin”(bad Floetral) & didn’t know the difference bc I bought several gallons at once, added glue to thicken it up, & it’s all I knew until I got my recent batch, which is thick! I don’t measure either, cooking or painting.
Thank you for sharing the U.S. links! It really makes a difference in coming back to the video for reference, and saving the video. Rather than my having write it down or take it down in my phone and forgetting where I put it. I enjoy your story, My aunt was an excellent cook but had no shame in refusing to cook when she didnt feel like it because of the dishes. She said if she could just cook, she would love it. But I guess it took the joy out of it at times. I was closest to her she was my closest aunt. I also hate cleaning my containers too. I try to reuse EVERYTHING whether for DIY skincare or art or cleaning. Always need a container. Thanks again for sharing.
I have always loved acrylic paint since using it in high school art class. Recently, because of the tedious art of paper quilling and doing other hand made things, I now have trigger fingers, which is fancy for my knuckles lock open or they stay bent. It’s painful! So I need another art to do! I’m thinking of this beautiful painting. Thank you for the beautiful inspiration! I love to watch your creations !
I have the same problem, too. I have had a trigger finger for over a year on my left thumb. It was caused by a craft work which I did forcibly. The only solution seems to be surgery. And I hurt my right wrist trying to open a stuck jar lid three months ago. I hope mixing paints does not injure our hands because I'd like to try pouring art too.
I have a trigger finger too...a corticosteroid shot helped for about six months but now it is locking again. I may need surgery too after this pandemic is over. I can't imagine getting to the point of not doing my Art. Hope we all find good medical help for our hands!
All of you dealing with issues like this, try consuming a lot of homemade bone broth. It often times helps with joint issues and omega 3 fatty acids from it is really helpful too.
Thank you Fiona. I had started last year with pouring, but my results were a nightmare. Now I know waht I´ve done wrong. Everything! I´ll go through your videos for a restart.
Greetings from Australia. I want to tell you that you have a wonderful touch with colour. I love them. You are a talented Lady. Keep up the great work. I can't wait to try and make a painting as beautiful as your's. Thank you.
I'm very impressed with your work, and love your clear explanations! You were saying that you can't pour the cleaning water and acrylic into your kitchen DRAIN, because it will cause a stoppage and the sticky base of the acrylic chemistry will eventually clog your plumbing. I think that's what you were trying to say in English. I like your 'flower' shaped cups, but have not seen them in the United States. I will keep looking for ways to make the process more creative for making my own work. I like your primary colors (red, yellow, blue) and the beautiful colors they create! Cheers from California!

Thanks a lot for this info Fiona. I do more or less the same. I mix 1:1 by weight Floetrol with water-thin Pouring Medium Van Bleiswijck (a Dutch brand). Works well! That PM costs only a quarter of the price of Floetroll. A little makes the paint water-thin. When drying the pour develops little cracks. The pour shows a nice sheen however, whereas Fleotroll dries a bit too dull to my taste. Mixing the two mediums is a good compromise!
Yes, Floetrol is so expensive here... I pay about 50€ for 2,5 liters. Thats why I try to find an alternative. Boessner binder costs 42€ for 5 liters and Dufa emulsion 10€ for 5 liters. Much cheeper and I love it, because paintings dry shiny and without cracks. 😉

I agree with you. Cleaning is the dark side of pouring technique. Srđan
Am in love with you pours always stunning. Forgive me if you already posted a link to you flower bottom cups ( desert cups) if you could let me know. Your so inspiring and love the time you give to your followers to explain and demonstrate
This is VERY helpful to me! Thank you so much for sharing.
Try adding little alcohol to empty squeeze bottles. Switch around & see if it cleans the bottle. Good luck. Love watching your videos.
Thanks for showing us how to mix.
How do you use Sergeant art acrylic pearlescent mixing medium?
I have a new 16oz
I bought yrs ago 🎨
I know this an old video, but I just now seen it. A little trick a do to clean my bottles for haircolor, put a little salt with water and shake to devil out of it. It gets the paint out of the spout.😃
Great idea! Thanks!
