    Garrick, I watch a lot of different artists. You are the only one who shows exactly how you're mixing. I appreciate that. Now I think I need to figure out where to get a few items.

    Firstly, Garrick, I want to thank you for, not only the time and effort, you put into this experiment but also for the cost, you carried, with the Pouring Mediums, the paints as well as the canvases used. Not one thing, in this art style is cheap, whether we have these products sitting in our studios or not. So THANK YOU! You are truly appreciated. I must admit, I was surprised by the water and paint mix, especially when looking at some of the definition. However, the cost factor with the paint? Not a viable option, for me. My favourite is definitely the the house paint but the Floetrol is a very close second ♥️💥🙏

    • @GarrickBrownArtStudio
      @GarrickBrownArtStudio  9 місяців тому

      Thank you so much Fiona. Are you referring to the cost factor of the paint itself or CA?

    • @fionapopovic4523
      @fionapopovic4523 9 місяців тому

      @@GarrickBrownArtStudio hi Garrick, I was referring to the amount of paint used, with water as a medium. The other products used, as a pm, ie., Floetrol, allows less paint usage, therefore cutting a little of the costs. I hope that makes sense??

    I've seen people use water and get great results. I have cheap dollar store paint and it didn't go as well. My first pour did turn out pretty cool regardless. Now I'm here learning more.

    Thanks, Garrick. Again, very informative and helpful. I’ve watched so many artists explain their formulas, and it seems like you HAVE to use their recipes to be successful. Your comparisons make me think that there are options.

    Wow Garrick, first of all, I appreciate all of your time and energy that I’m sure you took in creating this very informative tutorial. 77 minutes of video but a lot of hours probably editing it into place. So thank you for that. I am really blown away by these results and cannot believe the Valspar performed so well. This is really great information and is actually going to alter the way I approach things going forward. Thank you again, Garrick.❤❤❤

    Garrick, I appreciate your doing these experiments! I actually love using 70/30 school glue to water. Yes, you get more cells, but if you mix it ahead of time it retains consistency. Also, have you checked out Julie E because she uses the same school glue mixture with Amsterdam paints and gets the same type of cells as with Aussie Floetrol!

    Hello Garrick!! My little genius coming out of the wardrobe with his microphone. 😅 You really made me laugh from the start.
    You are as patient as an angel in setting up these experiences for us. 👼 So interesting to see these experiences.
    I am as surprised as you are by certain results that I did not expect. 😜 Just like you, my favorite is Valspar. 👍 I know Shelee sometimes does rings or straights with her bloom paint and it's really beautiful. But for large canvases 🤑 it's a bit expensive. 😉
    Great experience and great video Garrick!! 🧡🖤💙

    Gold is a bossy colour. It’s a no from me for the glue on it’s own. I mix PVA and water 70/30 to make pouring medium and that works. I can’t get your brand of house paint in UK. Like the Floetrol. I have to use Owetrol but effect will be similar. Very helpful experiment. Thanks.

    I want to let you know that at the end of this video, at about 29:30, you show us the pouring medium with glue.
    However in the description at the bottom right is mentioned that it's paint mixed with the untinted housepaint, but that was the previous pour.

    Hi Garrick. I'm a beginner and I've tried experimenting with pouring mediums. Elmer's Glue All was good but costs more here in UK. Also a clear PVA glue was pretty good. Other PVA glues not so good. The best was a B & Q base housepaint mixed 2:1 with Dulux diamond glaze house varnish - but it cracked! (I thinned all the mediums with water.) Can you please advise how to prevent cracking? Your videos are very helpful, by the way!
