    This potion turned out great! It's one of my favorites. The shape of the bottle really lends an extra element to the aesthetic of the potion bottle. It was very clever of you to use a tear drop shape for the labels. Perfect really. Love this!! ☺

    I made this but used clear hair gel, mother of pearl paint, and just a bit of iridescent glitter. Beautiful job!

      I made one for my mage costume for the ren fair - I used an empty hot sauce bottle, and filled it with black sand layered with black, silver, dark brown and holographic glitter, then I shook it vigorously to mix them. I hand-lettered the label, tore the edges & then singed them, and applied it with Mod Podge. I made a little "cage" from leather straps so I could wear it on my belt. I covered the plastic cap with leather, too.

    Quick question, how does the paint/alcohol hold up overtime in the bottle? I plan on making some potions, and have seen multiple ways to do it. Just want to find the best way

    In the books Phoenix tiers are describe as being thick and silvery. Using a shimmery silver liquid hand soap would be a better choice. Or a mix of silver metallic paint and with clear roll on glue and a little rubbing alcohol to keep it slightly liquid but not enough to make it totally liquid.
    Edit... just thinking about it maybe using mineral oil with pearl powder in it as it would have the right viscosity and the powder would stay suspended in it much better.

      Your statement is actually incorrect. In chapter 17, Chamber of Secrets, it states "Harry blinked. Fawkes’s head slid in and out of focus. Thick, pearly tears were trickling down the glossy feathers." No mention of color or hue is stated, only the effect of pearlescents, therefore it's up to the imagination to create the color.

    • @seangere9698
      @seangere9698 4 роки тому

      @@tiptonniese107 that's true but when you think of pearly what's the first color you think of? Silver or white are the first things I think of. But sure you are correct it is up to the maker what color they use.

    • @CookingandCraftChick
      @CookingandCraftChick  3 роки тому

      @@lorrainesaunders9758 that’s odd. I’ve never had that issue 😕. Your alcohol should be a milky gold color when the mica settles but when it is shaken up you should get the pretty gold swirls.
