Silver Kings tractors were built in Plymouth Ohio. Originally they were called Plymouth tractors until they were taken to court by the car company so they changed names. My dad had one but I dont remember seeing it run. The original owners grandson bought it off my dad and restored it. They were scary fast, like 45 MPH! They were marketed as inexpensive tractors.
@@FarmallFanatic he ain't kidding. I put 20mph in a previous comment but it was faster than that. My dad was in our car and raced my uncle down the field road. It was something to see.
I've made the trip to this show a few times. Glad to see it's still going on. That's a treat to see cultivators on the Silver King. You don't see too many attachments for them. I currently have two. One restored and one a basket case.
@@FarmallFanatic Yes. I need to do a better video on them. I have a few on my channel but it was back when I was new to UA-cam and had the world's worst quality camera. 😆 I have a 1945 Model 42 (Featured in Antique Power Magazine) and a very early 1935. Serial # is 624. It will be a lifetime before I even find parts for it. Got some missing parts.
I’d never been to the Ashtabula show before despite living next door in Jamestown, and I was pleasantly surprised how nice a show it was. I hauled my Ford 5000 over, saw it in a couple shots. Lots of nice pieces there. Plan on returning next year. P.s. you were PA bound heading over the causeway Ohio was behind you.
Still amazing to see the beginnings of steam tractors on up thru the years all the changes to farm tractors. Some real nice faves for everyone to see. Super M is hard to beat for looks.
Great video 💪💪 that 4wd tractor was aMassey Harris GP model fitted with a Hercules engine rated at 22hp unfortunately this turned out to be underpowered ☹️ glad Red Power showed its metle at the end 💪💪💥👍
The Super A sure does ring my chimes. The Case is really catching on among collectors. There is a stage 1 and 2 Super H. That one had the belly pump and the newer ones have live hydraulics and the battery under the seat. I liked the regular H in work clothes and the Super M. A 1964 706 has a C-263... it was late 1966 when they switched. The F-14 is very nice. The cubs are nice but none are better than yours... I really like the low boy. The 560 Diesel is the International. They have more than Wheatland fenders. They are a slightly different tractor. Fixed front and rear wheels. 18.4-30 rears and 7.50-18 fronts are typical. They have a different steering system than the Farmalls, and when those steering boxes are in good shape, they handle very nice. And of course headlights up front. I think using chains in the pulls is cheating. The Farmall A is not a 1948. 1947 was the last year of the A and the 1948s were Supers but still used the C-113. He pulled the Super A in too high of gear. By 1954 they had the 123 and has substantially more power. The John Deere M did well in the pulls but I would like to see it pull your 2 bottom plow in the field... I've seen a few of the 4WD Massey Harris tractors . The 560 did well in the pulls... There's lots of those International 560s in this area... We've never had a Farmall 560 just those. I really like the 1568...
I grew up with a ‘49 JD M. The Super C, it , a JD 50 and JD H we’re out tractor fleet. I had a ‘52 M I restored a couple years ago. The Super C was my favorite and I’ve never regretted going Red.
Hearing those John Deeres reminds me of a story my grandpa use to tell. When he started his farm in 1950 he had a JD and by 1951 he had replaced it with an F12 and from then on there was nothing but IH on the farm and one 8N ford. He'd grumble hated listening to that poppin bastard all day haha
Thank you so much for your hard work making the videos and teaching us old guys what we forgot long ago . My hat goes off to you each time I see your videos . God bless you and your family too.
I’ve only ever seen one silver King before. It was at a county fair I went to in Illinois but didn’t have the cultivators or anything on it. Interesting looking machines though.
You asked about silver king's, yes I have seen them there used to be several in my area, (I am up in Cobleskill n.y.) I think we had A dealer in the past.
Those Silver Kings are neat tractors. I was at a show once that had three, but they had no equipment like that one. The B is plus 4 inches on each side so plus 8 overall over the BN.
Sadly Petes MD motor has swallowed a valve. I hope it's not to serious. He did a beautiful restore on that tractor. I used to have a MD wide front. I wish I hadn't sold it. I would like to own one again.
Great job/grew up on tobacco farm with Aand B andM John deer and super A International/ for the size M John deer strongest tractor I ever saw it could pull
I looked it up last night, they were gray with red wheels, and gold or yellow lettering. A few of them had red radiator grills as well. They were called the Massey-Harris GP (general purpose) and were rated as 15/22, but tests actually showed they were 19/24. There was 3000 of them manufactured

Great to see these shows year round up north and out west, unfortunately here in Florida with the heat we only get about 4 or 5 in the fall/winter
The winter may require a trip for me

I've only ever seen one Silver King tractor at auction, and it wasn't that model. Great video :)
I've learned a lot about them in one day
Put more than a few hours on my dad's 660D back in the day, here in indiana. Will see one at one of these shows some day.
They are definitely rare birds
I think case has one of the coolest logos...that proud eagle peaches on top of the world. It's really neat looking in my opinion

Nope. Massey had the first FWD tractor in the market. He repainted it, I think it should be all gray with red lettering.
I looked it up last night, they were gray with red wheels, and gold or yellow lettering. A few of them had red radiator grills as well. They were called the Massey-Harris GP (general purpose) and were rated as 15/22, but tests actually showed they were 19/24. There was 3000 of them manufactured

u would look good on a green tractor

That BF Avery is a 2 bottom tractor. If it was a 1953 it should be a Minneapolis Moline BF because Minneapolis Moline bought out Avery in 1951.
I figured somebody would know
My good friend Jacob collects Silver King tractors, he has 14 of them

Never heard of a co op tractor
