  • The GL650 engine is back in the CX500 frame for good as we close in on final assembly of the build! In this video I just pieced together some clips of various items as I address them like the coolant tubes, thermostat, carb choke, oil and coolant temperature sensors, and more! The bike is really coming together and now its all fine details. Wiring starts soon!

    Hi Man, I’m loving your videos 😃, Such great content. What’s your thoughts on blasting the engine block and powder coating it?

      Glad you have enjoyed the videos. Powdercoating the cases is nice for sure. Just make sure you use a very reputable coater

    Do your other videos show the mods to the engine mounts to fit the 650 engine to the 500 frame?

      Hey Mike, episode 2 or 3 of this build I show the modification to the cradle. They are my early videos so I apologize for the lesser quality

    Does the 650 motor not have a rear upper engine mount? Or did you just not use it?

    • @BrickHouseBuilds
      @BrickHouseBuilds  Рік тому +1

      Nope, in 81 the 500 engines lost the top rear mount. The 650s never had them

      @@BrickHouseBuilds looking through your videos I did notice the engine lacking the mount as well. In your opinion , if I were to not use it on my 78, that would be fine then? Looks better with out it and I am going to do the same thing with the ignition coil you used and the bracket is in the way. I’d even like to cut it off the engine casing.

      There really is no strength benefit so not a big deal to not run one

    where did you buy your jack that you have to raise your engine into the frame?

    • @BrickHouseBuilds
      @BrickHouseBuilds  Рік тому

      Its part of a kit that came with my lift table. Just search motorcycle jack and you will find many options
