Imagine living peacefully in Roxburg, studying as space scientist, and then your 7000 y.o. Emperor decides to rename city to Dick splash and cancel space port plan.
🤣🤣
Yeah, the silly RP stuff of Civ is always funny.
Kinda missed the mark by not building the phallic rocket in dick splash. Must have been a clerical error.
PotatoMcWhiskey.. the Emperor of Manki-i mean Scotland
Imagine opting out of launching a rocket ship from Dick Splash.
}}8====D
Scotland casually inventing heavy bombers 20 years before the ability to print
Benedictine monk writing down how to operate aircraft.
Hand written manuscripts sent to the assembly line.
Desperate times called for desperate firebombing of the mayan printing demon machines.
*bagpipes skirling*
now imagine a carrier combat group going off to war with Columbus era caravels as escorts :)))
I love how recently it has often been like this:
-Turn 1: Elaborate plan how to win a science/culture victory
-Turn 200: War is the only option
"If violence can't solve your problem, you're not using enough violence."
Civ 6 usualy forces you into violence eventualy.
I had a very peacefull run before. Was friends with EVRRYONE. Literaly had world peace. Then i got backstabbed by a surprise war in like the industrial era 😅. So yeah
pretty much like the real world. brag about culture and science advances all you want but in the end war settles who are the superpowers
"The sea level is rising...we're just going to have to not give a shit about that." Art imitating reality
This whole game has just the "I'm simultaneously on the brink of death and the greatest player on the map" game.
I love to imagine Nasa having to cancel the launch because pirates have raided the coast.
Well, they stole the key resources: oil, operatives, blueprints, and toilet paper... There was nothing else left but give up the launching
Only in Civ can you have 19th century privateers and horse mounted cavalry working alongside aircraft carriers while you're working on a space project lol
I feel bad for dick splash not getting the deserved spaceport despite them being lucky enough to have randomly been assigned the optimal city 😂
I don't understand why anyone WOULDN'T want to say "dick splash" for the entirety of the rest of the video.
It's a Dick move @@Turnkey_BM
Is that the way his mom would treat Dick Splash?
He did it so he wouldn't say Dick Splash as much.
He then proceded to go no more than 30 seconds without saying it for the rest of the episode.
It is known, Mama Potato knows how to treat Dick Splash @@spudsdavenport
Dick Splash is the PERFECT name for a spaceport city
Otherwise known as Space Dick
I'm going to name all of my spaceport cities Dick Splash in memoriam
Potato will somehow turn this into his own culture victory
Scotish culture will dominate thenworld, if it is the only one left alive.
yeah, it's happend to me that I'll be going for a domination victory and end up getting culture because everyone else is so weak
"Why don't you go ahead and consume his soul to make yourself slightly stronger" - I died.
He did, too
it'd be cool if carriers got a little trickle of exp when the planes they hold do stuff
5:55 *Potato's designated Spaceport city is being bombarded by a trebuchet corps*
Potato: SPY TIME
To Be fair, the trebuchet corps is annoying, but it can't actually do anything to take the city and if it became a problem potato could always just buy something. Totally optimal to ignore it or just hit it with bomber for a turn.
@@NickSteffen oh totally! I was just struck by the comedy of it
Carsonkinney genuinely sounds like it could be a scottish city
Why is Potato refering to unit combining as 'consuming his soul' so funny to me, he does it everytime but never gets old
It's a meme pretty much. The unit 'poofs' thus the soul was consumed empowering the other. It's hilarious tho.
@@mrgibbons9995And for some reason they didn’t animate the units increasing in number on the tile, so it just looks like they poor away. I hope in Civ 7, there will be a visual difference between single units, corps, and armies.
Help me, Aircraft Carriobi, you're my only hope!
With your allies already at war with Lady Six Sky, you could have avoided waiting 5 turns after denouncing her, by joining one of their ongoing wars with her instead.
Yea, and probably swapped to a military alliance with one of them. Get that additional 5 combat strength. (5 from fascism, 5 from alliance, 3 from spy diplo visi = absurd combat bonus)
@@NickSteffen it would be +6 since he has a disguise spy with 3 promotions, so secret agent, and next turn arrival into the city.
33:37 "The sea level is rising, we'll just have to not give a shit about that. We have bigger fish to fry."
Fishing industry.
@45:00 kills me that potato forgot to get another four points for the golden age while trying to hold occupied cities.
#justicefordicksplash
"Let's peace India. Gimme your toys"
Potato ultimate bully confirmed
Welcome to the Scottish Empire, role-playing as the English Empire.
Funnily enough, it was the scots who inherited England and then later merged them into Great Britain. So really this is the scots roleplaying as themselves.
Roxburgh to become Dick Splash, as a resident of Roxburgh I can confirm it's accurate
Love that alternate universe Jerusalem is still out there traipsing around with their Eagle Warriors
We all know that Dick Splash is the most romantic city in Scotland.
Dick Splash sounds like a typical Britain/Scotland city name, you don't have to be ashamed
Your channel ages like fine wine. Your 3 last games were my 3 favorites.
That's why potato didn't choose it since he hates Britain and he called Scotland mini England in one of his videos when he rolled it after England ( hes never played England in civ)
Especially if it was spelled something off the wall like Dichsplesche.
Potato played tons of England games.@@nrbmemes2414
I love me a late game war when you’re using tanks and planes and they’re using courasiers and such
India in this game reminds me of 1940s Japan. Took a poke at the quiet guy who was just building stuff and making money....only to find out that when money and stuff gets pointed at you it doesn't end up very good.
I love seeing late game war. It’s cool seeing the dimensions the late game units add to the game.
Idk. I find it slightly boring lol.... i usualy use infantry and tanks to surround cities or block units.
Use artillery and/or ranged ships/ jet bombers for the bombing of the cities. Then take over the city. Amd repeat.
Using drones to make the bombing even easier.
And if nescesary a medic to heal units. Thats basicly the whole game from your first tank onwards.
@@cherrydragon3120that sounds like the ancient era tactic but with unit names replaced
So proud to see a medic on the field! Worth every penny.
bombers in 1590...before oil
powered by hopes and dreams
They're rubber band bombers. Really really big rubber bands in them.
Finishing Rocketry by 1570 is actually so insane
This series is a great example of why a strong navy is so important. Any general worth listening to will tell you how vital it is.
"The sea level is rising.. we're just going to have to not give a shit about that."
*JustStopOil hated that*
33:27 - "The sea level is rising. We're just gonna have to not give a shit about that."
Wow, Civ 6 truly is a realistic take on real world governments.
I often forget to do it, but it's good to remember that fighter planes while on deployment can still be clicked on and used to attack a target in its range, despite that option not coming up on the cycle actions button
46:52 and this little children, is how helicopters are made: you just throw a lot of money to a medieval cavalry divition
Good on you for posting losses.
47:45. Yes. I was screaming. "You have so much Faith. Buy a great person. Get the Golden Age!!"
Spoiler alert 😭
@@IzzRei 😏
Hearing that “Dick Splash had his little thing there” is not what I expected from a strategy game video ;)
Naming a city Dick Splash is the highlight of this series so far 😆😆 it’s so unhinged, I love it
Never thought I would get used to Potato not playing optimally. It’s not hurting as much anymore to see him miss heroic and golden ages 😂
I've only built an aircraft carrier once and I found no practical use for it. I've never had a need to build an aircraft carrier, but then I've also never played above Prince level.
yeah this is like a masterclass on them xD It's amazing the random strategies he pulls out in games like this
India: starts a war with Scotland
_gets wrecked for 10 turns_
India: okay I'm sorry, would you like to make a peace treaty?
Scotland: No, no I don't think I will...
_Scotland refuses to make peace with India for the next three hundred years_
I don't know how you do it. It took me about 6 days of playing civ to start questioning my life. Civ is a perfect balance between bad game and good game. There is so much about this game that just doesn't make sense, and it is essentially a board game in the age of real-time virtual experiences, but there is something about the sheer depth and breadth of this game that makes it relevant
This is such a fun series
42:08 not the Regulate reference 😂
Will I ever see pacifistic Potato game ever again? 😂
Perhaps. But not with starts like this. You kind of have to be ahead to be a pacifist.
16:36 when the war is going so well that you start speaking German lol
I laughed so hard when you said " keep it a buck 50." i felt v seen and also curious where you found out about that hahaha Thank you Potato
Going great,thx for the series
Good video and very fun series!
14:10 - "Would love to get access to some coal..." "Didn't manage it." 😆
4:54 "consume his soul to make yourself slightly stronger"
The Doolittle Navy is my favorite navy strat.
Look at him subconciously slipping in some german words as soon he decides to go total war :D
This is a really cool series
Right on time was just thinking ab wanting the next part
i'm not your spuddy, fry.
I hope the next game will be revolved around the Hermatic Order and Ley lines .
Whoever's responsible for Dick Splash, you and Potato owe me a new keyboard because my old one got showered in soda after that deadpan delivery.
Totally enthralling.
This game has taught me to understand MacAuthur in late game. And I don't know how I feel about thay.
Great video potato, as usual!
Satisfaction doesn't come from the outside, but from the inside.
“The sea level is rising…we’re just gonna not give a sh*t about that”. 🎉
41:06 It should totally apply to Seaports too, that’s the Navy 😅
Too late now but Scone is pronounced "scoon" - the baked treat called a scone is still pronounced "sco-hn"
(I apologise on behalf of the Scots language)
Brutal map for strategics!
I love naval domination games!
This is a great run!
I miss when the Potato didn't default to violence in a playthrough. Always enjoying either way, but I miss pure culture or pure science.
Really good video, dude!
Its unrealistic that you can only build spaceports on flatlands when Cape Canaveral is built in less than ideal lands and is the spaceport with the most notoriety
35:00 "India has switched to Digital Democracy." Whelp...
fantastic timing, actually just finished the previous episode! I look forward to the Heel turn Scotland hopefully conquering India and Lady Six Skies.
46:54 I'm sorta zoning out thinking about stuff and I hear in my headphones "Sea port completed in Dick Splash" and my brain goes "wait... wut.."
One source of oil, that's your legendary start
Seondeok joining war for 74 gold not worth. *Immediately pillages 574 gold*
*previously spent 565 gold on a builder he didn't need*
Civ6: "Am I a joke to u?"
Help me Obi Wan Aircraft Carriers.
You're my only hope
Are there other similar series with an impossible start? This was primo content!
«So I think it’s well and truly just become… this is a domination game now.»
We all see it coming since the begining! 😏
Good luck, can't wait for next installment. You stopped her just in time I think
So excited for low stress leaderboards!
Given the current trend in spaceship shape, I rather think "Dick Splash" is the *perfect* location
Thank you for your video
There should be a military policy card for carrier strike groups. It adds all the destroyers and frigates around the carrier and buffs carrier strength and defense by 10 freedom units. 😂
Dammit Potato, saying "aluminum" like a Yank...
nucular is downright unacceptable, derived from the word nuculus, at the center of the atom
New D&D adventure idea, defend NASA against a pirate raid.
Shout-out to India's Warrior corps on turn 222.
"The sea level is rising...we're just going to have to not give a shit about that"
Buying your airports and bombers was kinda terrifying
This game is so bizarre. Rockbands are around while you are conquering then with frigates and curraisers and there is also people with spaceports project around. 🤔
Comment to boost the algorithm

Boost to algorithm the comment

Same.
I like to poop into peoples shoes at my local YMCA
3:47 you managed to upset North American English speakers and non-North American English speakers over the course of 10 seconds with Aluminium/Aluminum there.
I'm gonna keep it a buck 50. I thought you were going to say uxa- "c u next Tuesday" when reading that city name 😂
yay new potato vido
if you think about it killing those rock bands is kind of comical, imagine if vietnam executed aerosmith or led zeppelin in the 70s or something
I know you pre-record these several in a row, question for you... around half way through this video would it have been worth it to buy John Rockefeller for the +3 Oil per turn? You had enough gold on Turn 235 (around 11k)
I know I probably would have for that and the era score for spending so much on a great person
1:52 Aww didn’t give DS a chance ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
7:18 *Woop* Lol
15:55 Ty Alex leaving the Cursor over the Text just a second longer so I could read the info ℹ️
Just a heads-up: I think it's good to say in the video how you pick Patron names. Is it random or have they given the most money?
I don't have Patreon because I'm poor, so sorry if you tell them there. But I think it's good to say in the video anyway.
Pretty sure it's based on when the name change is requested.
I guess he just picks a random name to ppl who pay for the rename city to my name tier or something like that
late reply.
but to answer your question:
there are three tier options (price charged each month) Prince £3, King £8 , Emperor £14.50.
the King Tier and above allows you a random chance to have your name selected to be used in an up coming game.
So it would happen when either PotatoMc-whiskey remembers or is reminded by the community 🙂
