Its the “Scotland taking revenge on the world because it got shafted on its start location” run.
"Maya is about to win a culture victory? Guess I'll conquer the world!"
- Spain, circa 1500 AD
@@nickgutierrez83 Oh no that's just too real xD
It's absolutely crazy how such a terrible start wound up with a world conquering empire. I really need to up my game!
15:25 "Sir, we should embark Marines to increase combat power!" "No.. that's just what they're expecting... No one expects horse cavalry on destroyers!"
is this a star wars reference? I know about the dumb horse thing, just didn't watch the movie
Every respectable marine power needs to have sea horses. It's only natural.
They've been learning to play Water Polo. ;-)
@@ILiekFishesI think he was just making a joke about the ridiculous nature of that permotion
Post WWI US Army couldn't decide what if anything should get mechanized. With the insistence of cavalry officers they decided for a time to mechanize horses. They would load them of trucks and deploy the horsey boys where needed.
This is genuinely the most unbelievable game of Civ I've ever witnessed. Goddamn rollercoaster
Potato “I don’t really like fighting wars”
Also potato “time to conquer the world”
"Kupe Says: Look at the big civ leader over there with the war declaration! Great job, mate. Really shows off how hard you are." ~actual dialogue in Civ 6.
You do know Polynesians right?
Unfathomably based, ngl. Imagine going to a Civilisation leagues bigger than you and mocking them
A gold fueled war is one of my favorite ways to win the game. It's that extremely high speed conquest, that massive army all paid for with gold, casually building whatever you want with production at home.. So fun!
1 thing I hope they add in Civ 7 is a more in depth global and internal market. Buying/trading/selling food, commodities, and luxuries. Being able to have a food producing city send it's excess food to other cities in your empire, or sell it on the global market to people whose needs are not met.
just play stellaris, man
you think there will be a Civ 7......
@@thomasechols8834It's been officially announced...
@@thomasechols8834 A new civ game has been announced for a year now
Oh boy more trade you can cheese against the ai. Na
the rock band playing while LSS is begging for peace made me sensibly chuckle (12:36)
I'm getting whiplash from the jumps between aluminium and aluminum lol
The increase in science and production when he captured palenque with estadio de maracana was pretty crazy
AND culture. Amenities really do some work for Scotland.
Imagine how a moon lander would look like without computers in it.
"Let's make a tea industry"
Somewhere in Oxford, Spiff just became aware of this particular game of Civ VI.
.........
I always put balloons/drones with my battleships/missile cruisers just for the range bonus.
I really wish there was a way to set a queue to just repeat. I've played games where I have something like an island city, and there's no units I need, and I just want it to do harbor research for the gold. I know I can line that up, but just being able to click 'repeat' and 'fire and forget' would be a nice QoL addition
didnt earlier Civs allow that?
@@T0tenkampf I think so. I replied to someone else below about caravans ( (I can't remember if that was 4 or 5) and using them to feed food to my main city to pump up the population.
@@T0tenkampf in civ 5 you could put a project to convert production into gold and it would do that forever unless you changed it
theres a workshop mod for repeating city projects
I've played Civ for over 2500 hours on Deity and never knew you could use the balloons on naval units. 😮
babe wake up, new potato mcwhiskey video just dropped
Aight bet
They really need to update fighters. When they are deployed you have to find it to use it. Should allow you to decide each turn instead of being skipped. This displays it well. Had a few turns there that fighter would have helped
Well seems like 2012 came around 500 years early for the Maya.... only it wasnt a flood that cane for them.... but the sky being blackened by the jet bombers
I"m just wondering what was powering his military without coal and oil. Potato vodka?
@@ClockworkOuroboroushe had oil for sure. He cuts up his episodes he doesn't show everything. He has overexplained videos for showing everything
Not rebuilding the outer defenses has me crying. I know it doesn't matter really, but still lol
Whenever you do a domination game, a part of me wheeps a little when its effectively won before you're able to unleash GDR in numbers.
Looking at where you are at turn 250 and knowing where I would be is a humbling experience.
Loving this play through of overcoming a crappy start. The payoff is so satisfying!
22:00 Next UN Meeting…. Ahhh Scotland, what’re’you invading Taumutu for?
Man I love a good naval air war! Barely anyone else does it
Most maps don't allow for it to be effect on all a civs cities
doesn't stop me from trying haha. Clandestine austere airstrips all day@@RMCbreezy
ISP: CAS is King!
PotatoMcWhiskey: CASH is King!
Absolutely loving this play through. I’ve seen a lot but this one has gripped me
while potato rekting other civs with his bombers, his capital is still defended by ancient era built archer lol.
I know you know this already PotatoMcwhisky, but I love the fact that you changed when your uploads normally drop. Listening to your Civ games is in my nighttime routine so I'm definitely getting earlier sleep because of it. Love the series!
WOW! I just finished this entire scotland game just to see this upload 4 minutes ago! Very excited how this will pan out!
This game didn't inspire me to play a horrible start but it did inspire me to play a Maori god of the sea game that i haven't in forever.
This series has it all! Nice turn around of a grim Game.
Watching Potato spend the whole series running a mostly science game while basically ignoring the scientific city states has been very funny.
This has been the most anticipated content for me all week.
loving the series!
I don't like that the endgame is over so fast on higher difficulties. It's almost not even worth to level up air units because by the time you get like 20 of them, you can conquer the world in 20 turns. There is also no turning back after you just destroy another civ since the rest of the world will just constantly denounce you. I get that you need to be penalized for a war but if I fucked up my neighbor civ who declared war on me in the middle ages, maybe they could let it go 2 eras later... Anyway it's a good comeback, I find that these type of coastal city games are only really bad if the AI attacks you really early as ships are kinda bad and you have no real production for units, also gold gain really kicks in around the later parts of the game and then it's just buy everything.
Last video before bedtime
I can't watch these at night, unless I want to sleep.
loving the series so far, i like how you explain your decisions in the game. may Scotland conquer the world!
I think you have a admiral in Carson City, who gives loyalty to a city! have fun ^^
So weird seeing a Potato game without Magnus!
No chops early on for him! So true he loves his logging man
Ali-mini-um
Thank you for your fun video
A Thousand Miles reference right at the start? Alas, I can only leave the one like.
Having estadio is gonna be so nice to keep those amenities up
Potato forgot about his sleeping spy balloon didn’t he?…
Well-played!
“…dummy.” 😆😆😆 idk why but that sent me.
Potato, make a splash of notes. Lol
Do you have a mod list? I only just got civ6 myself and I like all the UI stuff you have
Was such a waste not to build the amazing, well known, Venetian Arsenal in this game 😢
God awful placement though
Modern Armor vs Catapults.
I want to see a stronger AI in Civ 7
I LOVE MIND BREAKING HARD GAMES
I LOVE WHEN POTATO MUST GET CREATIVE OR FRICKING DIE
This playthrough has been like a reenactment of the US in WW2.
Myans = Nazis
India = Japan
Potato = US.
India Declares war...fails to cripple Potato, gets smacked around for a bit.
Myans close to complete victory, US joins the fight, smacks the Myans into the ground.
Potato doesn't forget about India, pledges to crush them next.
Basically the same as
Pearl Harbour > Midway
Africa/Europe to defeat the largest threat.
Return to finish off the ones who shanked ya in the back.
(and yes im aware USSR played a huge part in both theatres, as did UK, thats why Potato was propping up the Culture and Economic strength of 2 others who were at war with the Myans via trade...much like the US did)
What if you did a one city domination game where you raze every captured city?
You mean that thing you can't do without a mod? (Can't raze capitals)
@@nolongerapersonthey obviously meant every city other than capitals
@@RMCbreezy Then it's no longer a 1 city challenge. Even conquering them all on the exact same term would be dubious because it still technically means you end the challenge with those cities, but one might be able to waive that since you don't get any yields that turn.
Dominant domination!
Now Every man for himself a collection of kilt 🤣🤣🤣
I'm waiting for this 2 hours 😢
What an Intro 😂
The final culture of 1130, tasty. Could you not by accident also get tourism to pile up now?
16:04 The city of "Copan" be renamed to "Coping"
Literally just finished the previous 2 episodes
i think your eps needs a more clear indicator of what order/eps go together. the youtube suggested seems to have no idea, so it takes a lil combing thru to figure out what goes where
Helium, Lithium, Beryllium, Sodium, Magnesium, Alumin... Wait a second.
thats fair !
Pa-len-que! As in Pah-len-kay, Otherwise great work
The game is fun but late game war is so easy, bombers are totally broken because there’s almost never and anti air.
I bail late game dom games because the late game units are fucked against ai
@@RMCbreezy are you saying it’s harder late, sorry just confusdd
@@zacharyjohnson7944 no im saying its nigh on cheating to use them. Im agreeing with you
crazy to me that scotland was starting to launch satellites in 1725 AD
You're always a couple centuries ahead of the timeline in civ. Goes to show that all our dark ages really fuck up the matrix
He could have bought frigates still @ 11:23; pain
remember when you considered restarting this game? wild times lol
Not an entire civ making zero attempt to defend themselves
If only the navy could have been twice as big at no additional cost, that would have been kind of useful here
How did you get Suzerain of Brussels just by capturing a city?
Late game War crime will alway have the special place in my heart
11:00 Things just got real
Don't forget about all the trade routes you get with your conquered cities💵💲
nuckelar
you forgot to conquer last city for Uranium bro
a thought, surely with all mayan cities the culture victory should also be in your favour?
He almost quadrupled his culture income in this video
When you say "Most efficient way to win the game" Is that efficient in real time or turns? I feel like domination would be less turns, but science would take less time.
Imagine you're like a normal dude in this world and it's like late 90s. Everyone knows how cool and hip the mayans are. They got the blue jeans and all the pop stars you see on the television. Suddenly the rock bands start another one of those "stop the war" protests. You're watching one of them when the protest is stopped by 7 missile crussers DEMOLISHING the city, just turning it all to rubble while a fleet of takes runs over the corpses of anyone unfortunate enough not to be burried and then suddenly just roll out of the city where the new governor hires some mercenaries that look like they came from the local resonance fair and says you're Scottish now.
and then all the happy little boats move to the next city in one turn.
War. It's Fantastic!
Despite the recent patch, it still seems to me like the AI is very bad at defending against air and naval attacks
Ai very bad at defending. Thats all that was necessary cause been like that
I know it doesn't really matter, but my OCD is screaming at him to repair his outer defenses on the cities that don't have any.
Freeeeeeeeeeedom!!!
Looking forward for the nukes ^^
Gonna do a new humankind run with the dlc?
The Japanese empire launches a suprise attack on the pacific, 1941, colorized
Nu-cle-ar. Sorry, I don't want to be that guy, but it just kept digging at my ears.
@PotatoMcWhiskey when you're making your videos, do you record footage and then do voice overs in editing? (I suspect you do).
I don't understand why they never updated the AI to build AA.
European that conquer in a sneeze the maya... to much accurate for a civ play
why do I see so many top players ignore sewers? seems like easy amenities and housing to me.
I juat go straight for nukes and nuclear subs 😭
Surprised not to see a plug for The Spiffing brit when you made a tea industry!
Why do you post at midnight?
Why peace the mayans when you could just eliminate them completely?
I think "Uaxucton" is pronounced like "washucton"
Attention Russia. Take notes about how to win a war in this excellent video!
Just to remind you, that this series started with the worst start location ever
Why don't you use nukes?
Edit: literally 30 seconds after I finished typing the question, he started the Manhattan Project LMAO
:)
You should feel guilty doing terrorist attacks against peaceful neighbors!
He needed to help the oppressed Scotts , and spread democracy to the uranium fields.
@@vinccool96 Ur all bad people!
@@sumerbc7409 I think it's arguable that if you play CIV, there's got to be some bad in you somewhere.
