    Thanks for another great review Loyd! I’m after some advice regarding choice of trail shoe… The main factor for me is heel drop - I’ve recently suffered some pretty crippling PF and we’ve identified a transition to a lower drop shoe in recent years to be the most likely culprit, so I’d really like to stick to 10mm and above. This is hard to come by in trail shoes! The Pegasus Trail seems to be the leading candidate based on what I can find - Is there anything else you’d suggest?

    Was not expecting that Nike Pegasus Trail 4 has any similarities like the Peg 36 trail. I truly enjoyed that shoe. At this time I’m going to wait on getting the Peg Trail 4’s, I just got the Hoka SG5’s and haven’t loaded any major miles. Thanks again for your review today

    Hey there, thank you for the review. It was well appreciated. I have one question though.
    I ordered regular Nike Pegasus Trail 4 (non-gtx) to use it for daily usage and regular gym trainings. I’ll also use them to run in the city. Do you think that the outsole would hold up for running on the concrete pavement/road? I have concerns regarding durability of the outsole against concrete.

    Which shoe is better? Nike Pegasus Trail 4, Adidas Terrex Soulstride or Asics Gel Venture 9? I am not going to run, but I need a shoe to do long hikes in dry hot weather (which my feet will sweat a lot). So he shoe needs to be comfortable, breathable, and have a good grip (since I will walk on wet rocks, which can be quite sleepery.

      I haven’t run in the Solestride or the Venture so it’s impossible to say. However if you want to use the shoe on wet rocks I wouldn’t go for the Pegasus Trail 4, grip is pretty bad in the wet!!😮

    Greetings! I was wondering if you had done a review on the Adidas Terrex Agravic Pro Trail Running Shoes ($220 US) or the Adidas Terrex Agravic Flow 2.0 Gortex Trail Running Shoe ($160 US)...they both look like really comfy trail shoes but obviously the 1st one is the extreme high end of cost....
    I was just wondering if you had perhaps done a review of these in the past or if you would consider doing one in the future just to get your opinion of the Agravic line that Adidas makes...Thank again for your reviews and your hands on way of doing the trail reviews..

      I'm not so sure? Zoom X can be a very unstable compound so it'll be interesting to see how Nike make it more stable for uneven ground. I've been running in Pegasus shoes for at least 12 years and for the first time I bought a pair of these specifically for trail running and another pair to use it for everyday walking. I find that the normal Pegasus doesn't have the right structure to be used too much for walking.I mean, it's confortable, but it's a little bit wasted if you walk a lot in it. So I'll see if this one is better.

  • @EverythingWasGreat

    Supercomfy shoes, first run was 14 k. No blisters or anything. Had the pegasus 2 and loved them (no soft ground running), 3 was a downgrade, 4 still doesn't have all great details of the 2 (built in gaiter). The comfyness has a downside, you will feel every piece of rock, root or pointy object if you try them on more technical terrain. Its more of a road to easy trail or gravel. I feel like most shoesbrands with a toe bumper makes them too low or narrow which just gives you hurting nails.

    • @milvao3400
      @milvao3400 Рік тому

      That shouldn't happen, but it happens if the shoes are too loose or too tight, regardless of which kind of shoes you're using. So try and find a balance. Many people love the feeling of tight running shoes and they either buy smaller sizes or tie them too tight, and they get blisters or broke the shoe padding.

    Living here in Denmark, we have some of the same s*** weather like you have. I really like Nike's trail shoes, fit and comfort is really good, but they are lethal in wet weather. Image any Nike trail shoe with a Inov8 outsole! Close to the perfect shoe in my opinion

      @milvao3400 Рік тому

      I think Nike has a model called Zeagma? I don't know much about it, however I wouldn't use these Pegasus when it rains even if they had a different outsole. Besides being slippery, they are the kind of running shoe that can be easily ruined if it gets wet. I live in central Italy so it doesn't rain that much, but when it does and I still want to go out and run I use a Miler Shield (bought it because it was cheap) and it's not slippery at all. Also a classic Miler is good when it rains, and of course all the other shield and gore-tex models, but Pegasus I feel it loses its structure when it gets wet.

      Pegasus shoes in general are not meant to get wet, because in my opinion water also make them lose their structure. There are specific models for wet weather (shield, gore-tex). I live in central Italy, the weather here is not that rainy so when it is wet once in a while I just use a pair of Miler Shield regardless if I'm doing trail or not.

      I agree. Except for muddy surfaces it would be pretty decent road to trail shoe. The problem is that under most dry conditions regular Pegasus performs pretty well as well. Aesthetically, the shoe looks gross. I have the trail 2 gortex and when the three came out, i felt Nike went backwards in this regards. I want a shoe that is both technical and looks good. Trail 2 was that and more. To be honest, it looks a bit cheaper in terms of material used and how it’s made. I’m not sure that previous iterations were less stable - as it stands, I find the trail fitted 2 was/is very very stable for me. Especially in mountainous and wet terrain. We can agree to disagree 👍🏻
