    My problem is that they made no effort to do a DUI investigation. They were clearly both drunk, and his truck was parked in front of the store. They didn't make any effort to determine if they drove there. They could have tried to get the security cameras, find a witness who saw them drive, or even ask them both if they drove there. They asked like one question that got lost in the cross talk and never went back to it. Good policework probably would have gotten a DUI charge out of this.

    You bring up the bar and the possibility of disbarment. Unless he has a background with the bar already, I can't see him getting disbarred. I think it'll be more of a suspension than disbarment. Probably a year to remind him of the importance on maintaining appearances and not getting into trouble with both the police and the people you date. Now, if he's been in front of the bar before over his behavior, then all bets are off.

    Would this be grounds for dismissal from a law firm? Nobody who sees this would hire this defence attorney

    • @jackielinde7568
      @jackielinde7568 3 місяці тому +3

      Maybe, but it would depend on his employment contract, most likely. However, this could put his license to practice law in jeopardy, and that would most definitely get him reassigned to clerking duties for the duration of his suspension.

    • @Ordcestus11
      @Ordcestus11 3 місяці тому +3

      They could definitely fire him over it absent some sort of contract thing but even then they'd probably just have to give him Severance.
      As for his law license, if this is the first thing probably a formal reprimand and a year suspension if that.

    I'd give the side piece a C- for the fact she didn't make the situation worse. We've all heard stories about domestic calls where the police are arresting the abuser, and the victim then attacks the police. I was worried that when she approached the officers when they were tucking Bobby into a squad car, the situation was going to deteriorate. She was drunk and likewise causing a scene over realizing she wasn't the only side chick he had. But I don't think she deserved a D, Bobby's or otherwise.
    BOBBY GETS AN F! Dude's a lawyer and can recite what the law is drunk. And yet he can't figure out to exercise his fifth amendment right to keep his damn mouth shut?
    I think the officers get a B for this. For the most part, they managed the situation well, handled themselves exceptionally well, and even stuck up for the female officer when Bobby started getting mouthy about her. The only thing I wished they would have addressed is that Bobby drove his truck to the WaWa drunk. Sure, I get it's within their powers to not charge him with a DUI, but they should have at least told him they know he drove there drunk.

    I'm only 5 minutes in, but I do feel like the PC for the detention is sketchy at best. Arguing isn't a crime and everyone on scene said there was no physical fighting.

    • @jackielinde7568

      No, but drunk and disorderly is a crime in most places. And disorderly doesn't have to be violent. Just shouting and arguing with an officer giving you a lawful command could be enough.

    Step 1. Watch the opener.
    Step 2. Watch a panel of two female lawyers and one male lawyer react.
    Step 3. "Pity the fool who gets roasted by female lawyers for what he says." Drunk people say the stupidest things. Well, maybe second stupidest things. I've heard worst from politicians that supposedly were sober at the time of their statements. I should know, as I live in Arizona.

    14:28 I’m a retired LEO & would have already arrested him for disorderly by this point. He’s already put his hands on 2 officers, using vulgarities in public so just for that alone I’d have him in the car cuffed. If not charged at the very least detained in the car. He’s definitely pushing the officers limits

    @jarlsigu4734 3 місяці тому

    This is the video I was looking for. It is harmless but includes all I need. It might be even a little entertaining.
    Why this video?
    I live in the Philippines while the whole world knows about the human rights situation here.
    It is unclear how Filipinos would vote on an ICC investigation on Duterte's war on drugs with thousands killed.
    This leads to the question: What went wrong here? Or is it not only here? Is it a global problem?
    The Philippines law is a smaller version of the US law system. Therefore it might be helpful to look at the original. And yes, it appears it has similar problems.
    I believe that the US law system might be good for the USA but surely it is not transportable for the Philippines. The US law is based on explorers. In the Philippines there is nothing to explore. Explorers may worsen the whole thing and become tyrants as reality and history shows.
    Yet the PH has a constitution based on US law. With one exception. The PH has failed to improve human rights. Human rights is not the basis of law in the PH but the functionality of government is.
    For a week, 10 hours a day, I watched youtube videos about violations of rights to find out if there are connections or similarities in the failure of securing rights.
    And yes there is!
    Mostl incidence, comments and interpretations were guided by interest. The interest did form the justification in favor of their own interest.
    Fairness and justice are replaced by the numbers someone is able to unite behind his interest.
    What happened here?
    A man was drunk. Yeah this happens every day and none cares about it until someone pulls it to the center of his interest.
    The original issue:
    Violation of rights; becomes secondary.
    The question here now turns into a public inquisition which could ruin the career of a man and damage a family and that for the small interest of someone who makes the issue now a center of his interest. Spreading hatred and antipathy to unite followers behind his/her own interest.
    The question now: would you still hire this ("low minded") defense lawyer?
    The comments below proves that those 3 commenting the video in their own interest are successful. Most commentators would not hire this lawyer. They have only the worst comments for him and pretend to care about Bobby`s wife.
    A hypocrite doctrine of society.
    The original question to ask would be, if the police did act rightful referring to the law by detaining him.
    I think it was not urgently necessary but anyway justified.
    If we give a vote from A to F then we can give the police A- or B+. They proved much patience with Bobby. One policeman said: "Bobby is just foolish".And certainly if Bobby saw this video the day after, he would feel embarrassed over himself. He was foolish, the policeman said: and that means the police did not necessarily consider Bobby a threat. But since Bobby obviously lost control over himself he could become a threat.
    And that`s it. That should be the whole story.
    But for the interest of some, the story did just start. The girlfriend, the wife and family and all the bystanders are now part of the story. With the goal to discriminate a man who has just lost control over himself because he was drunk.
    A sacrifice to boost one's own interest.
    There was no vandalism or real threat to peace and order. In fact looking at the behavior of Bobby, I believe if he is not drunk he is a nice guy. That he was drunk is no justification to doubt his qualification as a lawyer. and so on,...
    Back to the human rights issue:
    Does the USA face a constitutional crisis similar to the PH? Since laws seem to contradict each other?
    On the one hand there are the claims of youtubers and human right lawyers to exercise the rights given by the amendments, on the other hand any State has its own laws to handle peace and order.
    Do you need to identify yourself? A random choice of the laws of the States: ("... and any person who fails to identify himself or herself and explain his or her actions to the satisfaction of the peace officer may be further detained and further questioned and investigated by any peace officer...")
    Despite the incorrect claim of violation of citizen rights. This might be the essence of interpreting the amendments correctly: "According to the law" or "Lawfull". It means, given rights are not necessarily a warranty for every case. detention. search or issue of obligation of identification.
    The interest of one can become a twisting tool even in twisting the law.
    The internet brings us all closer but also provides the opportunity to unite people behind a special interest.
    If we get the numbers we can influence justice and politics.
    Followers or numbers shall not replace fairness and justice by law. The result would be a bankruptcy of society morale.
    It results in presidents like Duterte or Trump. They know how to secure numbers with hatred speeches by appealing to low instinkts. Hate is a discriminating tool to secure the numbers of followers.
    UA-camrs should not do that if they claim the right of free speech, expression and free press. Such comes with the obligation of truthful reports without manipulation of public opinion.

    So... this has changed to a 'roast' channel? gather the yuk yuk crowd and chuckle along the video (it's like Mystery Science Theater 3000 for lawyers) (Last week it was the Drunk Chief of Police...)
    As an aside - you guys (the lawyers) aren't doing yourselves (much less, the profession) any favors by laughing at this guy (not because he's a nice person; he's a douche - but because he's someone not unlike your own clients that find themselves in this position- who aren't lawyers)
    Know why lawyers generally aren't liked? (This is one reason why - you sit back and laugh, yet charge your billable hours.)
    Yea - the GF goes free, she couldn't possibly have driven there, but if she get's loud.. oh boy.. #fistbump #tyrants-win yay..🥳

      They've reacted to and graded reaction videos for a while now...
      Watching UA-cam videos and laughing at idiots is different than looking at footage of someone who is going to be your client. They're more than welcome to enjoy content in this context.
      Also, they're not charging anyone billable hours by doing those videos, so I don't know what you mean by that. It's not like they do this for their actual clients. I imagine they get migraines from their clients doing this rather than laugh.
      No need to take this so seriously.

    • @ottorouth
      @ottorouth 3 місяці тому

      @@megaultrasonic Good grief - they clearly don't appear on the show in the hopes to get the 'idiots' featured as clients They do hope to gain clients from folks viewing the videos (one would think. Clearly the creator does - since he solicits his service in the description.)
      Attorneys charge clients (not in the video world) but real clients for billable hours (maybe they just charge a flat fee for some/many, but they charge $. I have no reason to believe that they don't sit around and laugh at people too. Hence - my remarks. This type of video simply proves they're not immune to two-faced-behavior.
      I just think it's in bad taste - yes - the lawyer/idiot featured is a douche - and it was somewhat funny to watch (thanks to creative editing.)
      I don't take things too seriously - but I'm assuming the creator and/or the legitimate lawyers on the show/episode do take it seriously. I don't think they should be commenting/hoping his wife leaves him.. or that he shouldn't keep his occupation.. etc etc.. The name & Shame.
      Furthermore - who's the lady/policewoman in the thumbnail? Long hair - Ray bans with the walkie? Is she supposed to represent the lady officer the douche was objectifying?
