Quick fix for the wipers to get them aligned properly once taken off is to remove them both, turn the car ignition on and press down on the wiper control and that will reset them back into the stock position. Big pain trying to get them lined up properly until I found out about this solution. Pretty easy install otherwise!
I literally just did my coilovers rn and my problem now is the driver side is aligned but the passenger wont come up... its like it trys to because i can see the wiper move a little but its almost like its stuck
To bad you have to use the stock top mounts for the kit. The BC racing coils have their own camber adjustable top mounts. The kit looks pretty good value for money otherwise.
@@joer5085 It was an 05 XT. I only ran them for a few thousand miles before selling the car but they were great. Easy to adjust and was able to use the stock top hats for my needs.
I’m really enjoying you’re videos. As far as I can tell you are the only shop putting out professional mod videos for the ST. Thank you for putting theses videos out there. Can you recommend a reputable performance shop in California to work on my ST?
Thank you for making this video as I couldn't work out how the hell to get the shock back in the hub with out heating it up and I really didn't want to heat it up so thank you
I have the exact same suspension for my 2016 VW GTI. Had it professionally installed with a conservative drop. I don't track the car and baby it. This kit has been absolutely nothing but problems for me. Kit needed to be rebuilt after a few months under warranty and still problems. Never again.
Yeah, great video. I'm guessing, given your experience here, your suspension improvement recommendation would be coilovers first and then maybe the rear sway bar isn't really necessary, right? And this car sounds great! In comparison to how I got my 2013 ST from the showroom, that's a function of what? Thanks!
I heard a blip about the sway bar upgrade not being necessary with this kit. I was looking at the ST Suspensions rear sway bar to along with this kit - would you say that's just not needed? Thank you.
In order to adjust the rear height, do you have to take off the wheel or any other part? Can you adjust the rear height while the car is on ground or you ya e to lift it?
What rims are those again and are you using spacers? If not was is the offset? Pretty great looking suspension kit for the price when compared to a separate spring and strut combo. Nice video and thanks!
Please tell me how you got the strut end link off? There is no place to put a 17mm wrench, it's literally round and using an Allen and an open ended doesn't work do to there being two metal walls up on either side
@@kooletron174c3 you'll get it eventually. I think I ended up using that method. Hardest fucking job I ever did on my car. I would definitely bring it to a shop next time. Fuck that. Good luck man! Save that money on this one though. The back ones are cake!
MedicBobs yup and then I split the knuckle too much and ended up stripping it , had to go back with a cut and die set and re thread it ... pain in the ass
Bill, I just installed this kit today and I cannot seem to adjust my ride height in the rear. I turn my Allen key a quarter turn out, and when I release pressure it will turn a quarter turn back to where I started. Lots of tension. Obviously I’ve done something wrong but I followed your video step by step so I can’t think of anything that I’ve missed. . Any thoughts? Thanks!
Bill Tumas, I just had a similar kit installed (Bilstein B-14 PSS) with new bump stops and adjustable rear toe links. I am hearing clunking noise when I roll over small bumps and when I turn the wheel back and forth. Though the suspension seems to make my car handle better the suspension feels almost loose when I roll over any bump in the road. Would you have any opinion on what might be causing these issues?
Hey, I like the video... I got eibach prokit on my scirocco (2012) but Im bored of it. So i want to buy coilovers, but in my country the taxes are so high, I wanted to buy JOM blueline coilover. is this a bad idea ? could you please help? Thank you. and btw, im not a guy driving sooo fast and unaware, Im %90 calm. Nevertheless should I buy kw?
Hey bill. I have a 2017 Ford C-Max and was looking at the bc coilovers but don’t think they make anything for My car. Does the cmax share suspension components with the focus or anything else? Tks
out of all the times i have done suspension on cars, the one thing i can never get perfect is aligning the front suspension top hats the first time around. i always put it all together.. install the bottom to find out the top mount isnt aligned right. is there an easier way to get it right the first time? i just got a 2014 ST and want to do the suspension very soon.
+bon vivant The first time you remove them, right, no shimmying will help you. Just push on the curved part and the assembly will pop off a bit, then shimmy. After that, they are really easy to remove. Don't forget to mark the position of the wipers (I used a sharpie for it) so that when you put them back on, they're at the same position as they were.
Anyone who hasn't installed them yet.... go buy a wiper arm puller. I had the same issue doing this install on a Fiesta ST. It should be listed on the tools. And you can you masking tape to mark where the blades sit on the window.

ST STX or BIlstein B14? Which's better?? I' m not sure which to buy.

I didnt get the X line, but I have the STs in my kitchen ready to go on my MK6 GTI *BIG GRIN* I CANNOT WAIT!!

Dis you guys have to replace the rear camber arms prior to this install?

Great video, thanks. I have ST suspension fitted to my VW Caddy, I rate it very highly.
I noticed the stock rear bum stop, is that where the eibach sportline bump stop should be installed?
We installed it there and it works without issue but Eibach recommends installing it on the rear shock itself.

Maybe i missed it or its not really needed but the rear LCA, doesn't it need to have the suspension loaded on the ground to tighten?
Will this be basially the same concept on a 2014 ford focus se
Yes the geometry is the same
Ive been running mine for a month now and im getting knocking noises when turning my wheel and going over bumps at low speeds
Hi Dalton, did you find the problem on your suspension? I have the same issue.
It might not have the preload set correctly thats why you might be hearing that noise, you are probably riding on shocks only, see of that helps.

I would love to do this to my car. But i need the ability to drive in winters in Michigan. Ride height issues
Why is the whole axle flopping around at 8:05? That doesn't look right.
+Jordan Bierbaum because there is no strut tower to keep it straight and level, so it is very moveable, but it is meant to be like that

Ride height is fine on this car, not too high from the factory

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but I did mine today and it was a piece of cake. Time consuming, but easy.
There isn't any issues with taking speed bumps or dips in the road with this ride hight is there?
So far not at all. We did not go extreme with the drop though.
Great video as always. Do you leave the stock rear bump stop? And I'm guessing you have to take the wheels off the car to adjust the front height?
You can leave it or take it off, doesn't matter either way. The more functional stop was in the factory shock. Yes you need to remove the wheels.
Bill Tumas cool thanks man
Compare the oem suspension, ride is smoother with this suspension or the additional with rebound adjustable?
Its a little firmer than stock but the ride was very livable.
@@cjponyparts can it be adjusted a bit higher than In the video? I'm running spacers and my car needs struts anyway so I'm considering these
did you have lsd diff ???
Can this work if you have wheel spacers?
unlimited haro78 yes
Does lowering your car actually have any benefits?
Lowering with good quality components makes a noticeable difference. Lower center of gravity improves handling. Less roll in corners, less brake dive.
What's the name of the wheels??
Also my rear shocks started leaking a month after install
love these videos and they also make we want that red!
The parts list though 😂😂
Can these also be adjusted to be just a little bit higher than in the video?
