- Many of you would be surprised, but to be honest Austro-Hungarian Empire gets almost none of the attention by everyone in subject of WW1. Only thing known to people know is that they started war and fought on Isonzo. They deserve more attention.

When your army is so culturally diverse, you can't communicate eachother:
I mean 80 percent of the time sergeants, CO’s were German
They can, they teach them German in school, ans then they even created Military slavic
Quite wrong you are. Cultural diversity was the norm of Habsburg forces since late medieval times, yet they worked. You think by 1914 they'd just forget it? The reality is that mandatory, secular and state-funded education was in effect since reforms of Maria Theresa, which was a hundred and more years before other powers of Europe introduced anything similar and while during her reign the language of education was German, her son, Joseph II, introduced bilingual schools. Basically everyone not adult-immigrant were mandated to learn their native and German language and language of army command was German, ergo everyone could communicate, especially since all troops were expected to know basic German commands by heart. We should also point out the regimental languages and how officers of regiments, who often were natives, and had to be fluent in German, could communicate with their men in their native language as well as German.
Frankly the idea that they could not communicate is as absurd as it is stupid and shows the actual ignorance on the matter of communication of modern myth-lovers like you.
Thank you guys for teaching me something new

Fun fact: the infamous pro-nazi leader of Hungary, Szálasi Ferenc was among the few austro-hungarian troops whom had the "luck" to fight in the western front.
But why was he lucky?
It's sarcastic
@@moisesjenarovanegasuriarte857They were artillery units only.

1:01 it's litteraly Czech troops belonging to the austro Hungarian army, fighting russia and being captured and deported to Vladivostok, trying to get the help of the allies, then deciding to fight for the czar and imperialist russia against communist in the depths of Siberian Ural, then capturing Ekaterinburg and seeing what hapened to the czar and OTMA💀.

What are without reason to fight for?
First of all from where are you . Second emperor Franz Josef cried after his troops were masacared at Galicia
@@aeiou-18 i am from bosnia and herzegovina. My great grandfather died for austria hungary in ww1 on a frontline far away from his home. Did it serve any purpose in the end? I don't think so. My great grandmother just lost her husband. I too and my family survived the yugoslav civil wars in the 90s.
Only boys cheer for war. Men know how horrible and truly pointless it really is.
Back then nobody knew how it would end
deserves more support
The Problem was it was a show army with officers who never dealt with combat. Austria alone couldn't even defeat Serbia, which should tell you enough.
45 million people, Austria, Hungary, and Serbia, 4 Million at that time.

Chwoła Austro-Madziarōm! I'm a Silesian from the former Duchy of Teschen, we have good memories of the Habsburgs here. If anyone would like to bring the Empire back together, we are in!

There is no Silesia, you are simply confused Polish
(I WAS JOKING XDDD)
@@organizacjamemowzjednoczonych where did you get that idea from? State propaganda?
@@organizacjamemowzjednoczonych Yea it's hard to tell if someone is joking when it comes to such topics 😆
Most of Czech soldiers were loyal to kaiser, but not a lot people know this, coz they lost.
Czechs being disloyal was at first a propaganda lie from German nationalists in the empire. Czech political parties all protested those accusations and proclaimed their loyalty to the emperor. However, after the war they claimed that those accusations were true and that they were mostly disloyal and sabotaged the imperial war effort. They embraced this myth in order to cheat themselves out of war reparations and to be on good terms with the entente powers
Man, this was funny I subbed and liked ❤❤

You forgot the Italians fighting in the KUK army, especially in the eastern front, in Galicia. I'm talking of about 100.000 Italian speaking people living in the Empire. They fought bravely against Russians. I've a great uncle, officer, captured by Russians, he was prisoner in Siberia during the Russian revolution, he wrote a journal, very interesting. Many Italians were loyal to the Empire, despite the Savoia propaganda and all the rhetoric about the Big Bad Austrian Government. They were treated very badly after the war.
As they should.
Sold their soul to the oppressors.
shout out to the K.K Landwehrinfanterieregiment N# 27
As a Austro-Hungarian that explains a lot
Realistically not a single one of these guys would have made it out of the war.
Technically few would made it through
My Bosnian great-grandfather was enlisted in 1915, fought on the Italian front till the end of the war and survived. Later in ww2 he joined the Bosnian waffen-ss division and later died on the eastern front, somewhere in Romania.
