Really I would just watch any literary remake with James Acaster in it. He's my new Sean Lock now that Sean doesn't seem to get on the shows much, lately. ☹
If that were the case, none of this would be funny because we'd all have seen it coming. Ignorance is bliss, they say... Edit: or did you mean the entire cast of the show? In which case, yeah...
They probably get their topics before the show and have some time to brainstorm. That's usually the case, and here it's clear by the use of the song samples: he knew exactly which bits would play, and they were the ones he needed. Amusing nevertheless.
@@WSK207 You have some experience with the production? I suppose you may be right, hard to know for sure, but the point stands: he had to have checked the song samples in advance, possibly even informed the audio guys which bits he wanted, etc. I guess it's a bit pointless to debate how much planning, exactly, makes it not improvised. Usually that means coming up with stuff on the go, whereas this was obviously planned (if only moments before). I don't really have a point to make, nor do I want to belittle the humor, I was just drive-by reacting to "this is all improvised." At least it's not as improvised as it's made to look.

I love seeing Jon get to makes jokes that aren't about height or loneliness. It's representative of when an introvert gets to show how interesting they actually are.
I'm pretty sure Jon had this concept in the back of his brain and this was just the perfect opportunity to share it with the world :) Fun Fact: Immediately following the show Andrew Lloyd Webber called Jon and they are now collaborating on the musical.
I’m just excited to See a video mentioning Sclub7 ... grew up on their show and songs... all the way here in Texas.. seeing their faces and remembering their music brings back some of the most meaningful feelings I’ve ever felt... my favorite song is “Let me sleep”
I have watched this over and over, many times, and I still get such an amazing happy feeling when he gets to the ending and "S-Cluuuuub" plays. Such a brilliant skit!
Since watching Taskmaster I always rank panel shows on how many comedians from the show are on it. This was a delight and Jon’s love for musicals especially
I JUST found the trailer for their movie "Seeing Double" after looking for it for YEARS and not knowing who they were. Really hoping James wrote that one himself

"Would a musical fan see Cats 4 times?"
"No."
This is so weirdly compelling. I would watch this musical an embarrassing number of times.
Really I would just watch any literary remake with James Acaster in it. He's my new Sean Lock now that Sean doesn't seem to get on the shows much, lately. ☹
weirdly compelling is EXACTLY correct
I can see it becoming a new gay stapler and myself seeing it every year.
Ah, the memories we'd make
"Weirdly compelling" kinda describes this whole show!
Romesh: “make sure you’re better than James today!”
Josh: *nervous laughter*
poor Josh lol
James: nervous look
Jon plotting an s club 7 musical is so genuinely impressive
He killed it. If only everyone was that quick witted.
If that were the case, none of this would be funny because we'd all have seen it coming.
Ignorance is bliss, they say...
Edit: or did you mean the entire cast of the show? In which case, yeah...
then it wouldn't be quick xD
I think they get around 2 days notice of what their hypothetical will be
james really did just dress as the entire scooby gang
and somehow manages to embody all of their energies as well
Considering this is all improvised it’s brilliant. Romesh saying “deserved it” in the end.
Brilliant stuff Jon Richardson

Olli they don’t get it before the show, they get it as we see it, lot of planning bit gets edited out.

"That was magical" Romesh Ranganathan

I completely 1000% would unironically watch this musical
It'd be the UK's Mama Mia

I hate musicals but I’d pay any amount of money to watch the S Club 7, space-based musical. So long as James does actually play Paul.
@@oneglobalconsciousness9389 YES
you know you've won big, when Romesh is smiling
When does the comedy start? All I hear is somebody explaining the coolest sounding musical of all time.
I dare say: that would definitely outperform starlight express
When's Acaster going to be cast as the Riddler?
I thought that was Sean Lock’s role
I wish we had a Jon Richardson here in America!

Just a PuP trying to Hit 5k Subs Would’ve been the perfect song for insomniac astronaut Paul.

Why is this brilliant S Club musical not an actual thing at this point? I love it!
one of the most impressive feats i've seen on any panel show...Romesh being fully delighted is proof positive of the level of achievement lol
Since watching Taskmaster I always rank panel shows on how many comedians from the show are on it. This was a delight and Jon’s love for musicals especially
Someone please send this to Andrew Lloyd Webber so he can get started on this!
This is oddly incredible
at least it makes more sense than Cats
Bloody hell John 🤩 brilliant 😂🤣
Someone make his musical happen immediately.
Was waiting for this clip! Thank you👏
truly perfectly done
Aint no party like a s club party..... what everyone love that song went number
Ok can someone actually make this happen 😂
Do Jon's story as a movie, Spice Girls style, and I'd watch the fuck out of that
Not being British and trying to figure out what the fuck S Club 7 is makes this all even more funny
S Club 7 was very popular in America in the early 2000s. I don’t think the problem is where you’re from but probably what age you are.
That captured everyone’s attention so much, I’m surprised a west end production company hasn’t been in touch.
I think i'd watch that musical every week.
That was so clever!! Five points, wow xD
Jon: "The phantom"
Me: his name is erik 🤣
Only in the book. He's not named in the musical.
Isn't S Club 7 just Steps +2 +20yrs? Peter has been replaced by Simon? Five six seven? And Brits 8 it up. Again.
Major props to Jon.
James saying ALW would set 8 out of his 10 cats on Jon is almost the perfect joke
The Venn diagram of Acaster and S club 7. Hello my people how are you doing? 😅
oh my gosh... I really want to see this musical
Rachel clapping is a mood 👏🏻
never seen a musical, never will, but enjoyed this episode all the same :)
I am so on board for this musical!
I JUST found the trailer for their movie "Seeing Double" after looking for it for YEARS and not knowing who they were. Really hoping James wrote that one himself
this was amazinggg
My name is Andrew, hello hello hello! I have feet and I have to go!
I would unironically watch this
I'd pay good money to see that musical

masterful
Jon will have to up his phantom game. I've seen POTO 6 times and LND 3 times live! 😎
I also need this Series to do a Spice Girls episode
Great show! Hope you don't get a takedown for those song clips!
I’m fucking shook... that was so good
Can we make this musical a reality
Lord Lloyd Webber looks a bit more like Phantom Blofeld.
Tesla model S club
Guess I will vote for S Club 7
I’m genuinely upset this musical is not real
List your favorite sclub7 Song Below
Let me Sleep
Isn’t that brunette James’s ex?
yes
Just don't do it, neither Andrew Lloyd Webber nor the cast of Cats are a credible threat.
So has anyone contacted S Club 7 about putting on the musical? Andrew Lloyd Webber isn't even needed, the songs are already written 😂
I want to see that musical so baaaad
Well done.
Hey England, want to see a magic trick?

bugseysdog Rachel Parris. Did some brilliant work on The Mash Report, and she’s also a talented musician.

James Acaster, but I can’t tell what color his shoes are.
Kirsten 🤣🤣 I deserved that!
Who's the brown girl? I'm feeling her
Rose Matafeo, a comedian from New Zealand. She *is* super cute.
Rose Matafeo, she use to be Acaster's partner, hence why she seems a little uncomfortable every time he speaks, she's really good though!
